Every dragon I meet in the game is attacking me, but not turning hostile. The Shadow Dragon was the first I noticed to do this, but I just slipped round the side and avoided it. Firkraag is turning out to be a bit more of a problem in this respect. And I don't want to think what'll happen when I meet Avalon.

The moment I run into them, they cast an acid arrow at me and then wade in with melee attacks. No wing buffets or other combat moves. I'm thinking one of the mods I installed messed with the scripting for dragons ... Deeper Shadows of Amn by Kensai Ryu jumps out at me immediately because of all the dragon related content:

~SETUP-DSOA.TP2~ #0 #0 // Kensai Ryu's Deeper Shadows of Amn v2.2
~SETUP-DSOA.TP2~ #0 #1 // Difficult Brown Dragon
~SETUP-DSOA.TP2~ #0 #2 // Improved Copper Coronet
~SETUP-DSOA.TP2~ #0 #3 // Improved Crypt King
~SETUP-DSOA.TP2~ #0 #4 // Ghost Shadow Dragon
~SETUP-DSOA.TP2~ #0 #5 // Gnome Fighter/Illusionist Encounter
~SETUP-DSOA.TP2~ #0 #6 // Grothgar the Red Dragon
~SETUP-DSOA.TP2~ #0 #7 // Improved Kangaxx
~SETUP-DSOA.TP2~ #0 #8 // Curse of the Underground Shade Lord

Just wondering if anyone can confirm this, or knows of a way to manually edit the scripting for dragons so that this doesn't happen. I don't want to try uninstalling DSoA unless I both know it's the problem, and know it won't mess anything up.

I believe those are all new dragons, so I don't see why they should affect existing dragons.

I suggest posting your entire weidu.log here.

I've got the same problem with Firkraag and SD. The BP's scripts seem to be not perfect. And not only with dragons but beholders, planetars and others as well. A pity but I can think about two ways here:
1) don't install BP at all (bad choice I think - especially with cool comments from monsters);
2) spend time and make changes.

What can these kits do with dragon's scripts?

most probably nothing, i just informed him that he might have some problems later in game, maybe if he accepts to party some npcs from tdd, their kits might be corrupted, but im not sure, i just know that you cant install new kits over tdd, without prior removal of tdd kits

I had more than 9 kits for some classes and got no problems. When creating new game they were unavaliable but SKeeper can add them after start.

I doubt it's causing the problem you're experiencing, but some of the DSOA components you've installed are the same as some of the BPV177 components (e.g. Improved Kangaxx, Improved Crypt King, and Gnome Fighter/Illusionist in the Docks), which may lead to other issues in your game.

I have got bugged dragons with TDD+SOS+TS+CTB+UB+BP.
Also I've seen somewhere that such scripting was to eliminate cheat tactics from player, but result have made impossible peaceful talking with beasts as well.

Had same thing on my basic BP install.

BP + TS + TDD + SoS

Firkraag seemed especially *buggy*

Logic would suggest we're looking at something in TDD or SOS.

On my last install NEJ/SOS/TDD/TS and Bp176 I had the same problem with Firkraag and the Shadow dragon-stayed blue but attacked. I had to talk to Firkraag and get pelted at the same time. I also had KR ghost shadow dragon and brown dragon (druid grove), but they went red and attacked right away(normal behavior I suppose :D)

DSOA and BP are compatible (or at least - to the best of my knowledge). dragons attacking whilst staying blue is an artifact of BP's anti-cheese scripts; it's on the list of things to fix for the next release.

I only fought the green dragon in BG1 part (from Dark Side of the Sword Coast) and it was fine ... has it a different behaviour from his Bg2 "mates"? ;)

yep - the dodgy dragon behaviour is only affecting Firkraag and the Shadow Dragon, and it's due to their specific anti-cheese scripting; it's not caused by a generic 'dragon' script.

Thanks seanas for your fast reply ... is there anything i (we) can do to avoid such "dragon behaviour"? I mean ... something to chnage in their scripts?

thanks,

Though as I mentioned, installing both the DSoA and BP versions of the same components probably isn't a good idea (just as installing both the Tactics and BP versions of the same components isn't recommended). It might be an idea to have BP detect whether the DSoA versions are present, and take the appropriate action if they are.

true true. altho for the case in question, we'd need to edit DSOA to detect BP :P still, good suggestion anyways, NiGHTMARE.

I've removed blocks which are responsible for attacking neutral PC - 2 from Firkraag's script and 3 from SD's.

There shouldn't be problems - I've tested both scripts and evrth was fine.
