Is it him or Erik, his archer companion?

The plot thickens. Does he kill you with his staff, or fists, or something else (like one of those rabid rats in Reevor's shack)?

Hmm, OK. I tried your saved game on my system and poor Buster does get killed. Then starting a new game making a character from scratch also gets killed. However, an imported BG1 character doesn't get killed.

That means the bug is a confirmed BGT problem but I'll have to do some mucking around with the staff to see if I can fix it.

Thanks.

Does he kill the Player on other difficulties? Maybe there is something to do with the difficulty settings and the conversion. My guess is that whatever damage Jondolar can do at CORE settings is bigger than the PC actual Hitpoint allocation.

The Point is that Jondalar DOES damage which he shouldn't do, whatever the difficulty is, he should always deal zero damage, like his friend Erik does.. And 0 times anything always equels 0.. right?

Note that if you stand next to Erik such that Erik changes to his staff, Erik can also kill you. That leads me to believe there is an issue with the staff. Erik's arrows do 0 damage all the time.

I think it has something to do with being unarmed. Try to equip your staff.

/Edit:
Changing the damage type of the staff from Crushing to None fixes this. (Not sure about any side effects, though.)

Well.. You did say that an imported BG1 character doesn't suffer damage.. with the same staff presumably.. which I think points to some problem/bug/missing thing with character generation..

Not sure, really. When I get some time, I'll try a few things out. I'm not sure what I can do about the characters side of things.

What's wrong with changing the damage type to None?

Don't know. I haven't tried anything. I was commenting on changing character creation.
