Hello,

I'm a newbe in the world of mods and I'd like to go back to BG1/2. I played unmodded BG1/2 in the 90s.

I've had a look at the forums and I feel a bit confused by the number of available mods and their different names. I'd like to play a moddification in which BG 1 and BG 2 are somehow linked and both present with a lot of extra stuff. Could someone help me out and explain briefly what my options are?

E.g. I've read something about Big Picture, BGT-WeiDU, and Big World Project (BGP) - are they one thing or three separte ones? There's simply too much stuff here to take in at once...

Sorry, if this is written somewhere and explained clearly, could you direct me there, if you don't feel like explaining in my post...

Regards

Yes and no. BP is an upgraded & with more stuff BG2 mod (a good mod). BGT makes BG1 & BG2 into one game. They both can be played together. BWP can include both above mods plus many more mods. Read the readmes and keep reading there is a lot of info on how, when & if you should add modds to your game.

Basically, for you, I recommend BGT + TDD, and, for a challenge, SCSII as well.

Preferably in that order.

Not really. TDD, SoS, CtB, TS, NeJ and RoT should be installed before BGT.

From the BGT compatibility list:

Installation tips
-if you want to play a mega-modification containing BGT-WeiDU, it is recommended that you install the other modifications first (The Darkest Day, Shadows Over Soubar, Tortured Souls, Check the Bodies, Region of Terror, Never Ending Journey, The Big Picture), then BGT-WeiDU, but you can actually install all the related modifications in any order
-if you want to play the mega-modification with BGT-WeiDU and other modifications, follow the tip above, and then install other modifications on top

A Megamod does not mean that you can play all of the mods or all of their content,
but you have more choices or paths through the game.

Well the baldur.ini needs to have with:
[Game Options]

Cheats=1

Memory Ac...
Then you select the characters you wish to affect, and you have to push Ctrl and the Tab keys simultaneously to get the console open and then insert the code:
CLUAConsole:SetCurrentXP("x")
Where the x is the total amount you wish have.

Soldarius, are you playing vanilla BG1, BGT or Tutu/Easy Tutu? I don't see you stating anywhere, and it is important.

If the first, Cheats=1 goes into the Game Options section of the Baldur.ini file, then while playing the game [CTRL]+[TAB] opens the CLUA console.

If the others, Debug Mode=1 needs to be added to the Game Options section of the Baldur.ini file, then [CTRL]+[SPACE] opens the CLUA console while playing the game.
