As for item randomiser, is it sufficient to download randomiser-v301 and rename it to randomiser-v3?

What you should do is to use the BWS so long as it starts the BiG World Install.bat(but do not start it's programming by exiting it....), then extract the randomiser-v301's files int the game folder and then restart the BiG World Install.bat... if the BWS is not yet fixed to use the v3.01...

I've got a freeze on a black screen in my 8.2 install. It is when I am leaving the Forest of Tethyr after leaving the Pocket Plane for the first time at the opening of Throne of Bhaal. Since it is early in ToB, can I copy off my saves, wipe it and do a 9.0 install and then import the Final Save from 8.2? Otherwise, I guess I need a CLUA code to jump from Tethyr to Watcher's Gate.

Thanks!
Homer

This worked BTW, once I got 9.0 to install.

Is it normal that after a Standard installation BG2 will take a few minutes to start from the splash screen? Is there a way to reduce that time?

Thanks a lot!

I've encountered this bug. It's the first time i had to use console. Is it a bwp's problem or some mod's?

Did the Generalized Biffing actually install? Open the file called WeiDU.log with Notepad and see if there is mention of the setup file for the mod.
PS, it's generally recommended that you don't start the game from the baldur.exe, but from the BGMain.exe so you don't get the splash screen at all...

Hi jarno
If the standard install include Throne of Bhaal Extender, then shouldn?t the player use TobExLoader.exe to start the game to take benefit of this tweak ?

The wrong conclusion... as if it's not installed, the delay will be a lot more as the computer needs to process the info it's given by all the mods, so it takes a lot more time to load... minute or ten depending on the computer and how many mods are installed etc.

lol, thanks again! ;)

btw I don't have it installed.
So, speaking of performance, it's a better solution to install it separately (http://www.shsforums...ds&showfile=741)? Does it have any conflict with a "Standard" BPW9 installation?

You actually have it in the game directory... the reason it didn't install is that your installer (setup-generalized_biffing.exe or something very close)renamed-WeiDU.exe was patched to a version that cannot install the mod. The solution is to download the latest WeiDU archive and extract the WeiDU.exe from there, rename ii as the mod to be installed's .exe(setup-generalized_biffing.exe or something very close) move it to the game directory and overwrite the old one and run it, it will also patch all the other WeiDU.exe's to the latest version...

@Stefano: If there's a file called BiG World Debug.txt in your BGII-SoA folder, could you zip/rar/7z it and upload it somewhere?? It'd help know which WeiDU you have, why gen_biff failed, and whether there are other mods that failed to install for you :)

Ouh dear, the setup-Allison.exe failed to update to the v21600 WeiDU.exe, so the BiG World Install got stuck into the Allison mod. What you need to do... and everyone after this is to manually update the setup-Allison.exe to WeiDU.exe v21600. And you do that by copying one of the other setup-*modname*.exe to the game directory after the BWS has run and are about to run the BiG World Install.bat, and remove the original setup-Allison.exe, after which then you can rename the copied setup-*modname*.exe as setup-Allison.exe ...

Hi, I tried BWP Recommended pack some weeks ago and got a flawless, by the book installation I must say. After several days playing from Level 1 / Candlekeep and encountering very minor bugs I am now nearing the end of SoA (post-underdark). I am doing Darkest Day quests at this moment.

My concern is that I encountered the Topaz dragon in the ice cave quest and it is much much more difficult than my last TDD trip when I didn't have BWP. It is so annoyingly unbeatable that I went down in shame and CTRL-Y killed it. Considering that I killed Firkraag in 15 seconds without a scratch, no cheap tactics and several levels ago, I think that my characters are no pussycats and should not be ashamed so bad by this dragon. I even tried cheap tactics and nothing! I would like to know, is this unbalanced fight caused by some other mod ? did anyone note it? If this question belongs to another topic, please accept my apologies.

Thank you very much!

Damn, stuttering lag appeared again. Now in SoA after spellhold. I've found the only way to get rid of it: kill aerie in cold blood. I tried to drop all her items to the ground, to remove her from party, to kill her and ressurrect: all resulted in persistent stuttering ~each second. I tried to talk every character to her, to talk by her to every character, tried to find another "magical savegame", all in vain. But when i kill her lags totally vanish, game runs smoothy.

Please, any suggestions?

Looks like this problem. If it is the same issue (and i'm not saying it is), it seems to happen intermittently and apparently it isn't solely a BWP problem (the OP of the thread had just BGTweaks installed).
