About animals. Now this is tricky. To exclude them, I'd have to do something like that:

-Use IDS/TARGETING in conjuction with the projectile.
-Use lots of such effects, to target everything *BUT* animals...
-Those spell effects could only call an EFF file, so to place the actual song's effects a new spell should be called from it.

Target via general.ids? That way you can exclude undead, animals, and whatever pretty easily.

Truth is, TGM dwells in chaos, disorder, mess, untested stuff.
I dwell in order, logic, efficience, working stuff.
In a word, we are the *PERFECT* team!

Yep. I am the mind to create ideas, while you are the body to form them into reality...

Nope, truth is that we are different. While Littiz is MUCH more patient and ordered, my ever-working mind produces masses of new stuff every day - a shame I (we) must drop many of them because of the lack in time...

Anyway, we are truly the perfect team B) .

We'll take care of this one in v2, though it would be a better job for aVENGER's Rogue Rebalanciing mod. IF he would be still active, that is. :(

Eh, I did create fewer things from scratch, but I'm quite proud of them, you know ;)
And then, how can I have more time for them, having to create working version of yours :P

@Sim: I know, IDS targeting is not a big problem, the idea of re-doing the structure of all the six songs is what stops me right now.
That, and the fact they would work significantly different from the SoA versions, corrected by aVENGER.
The behaviour would change with the ToB picks, after more than half of the game, and this is not very coherent...

Ever forward, my darling wind...

I just realized something...

ALL bard songs should be short range, and lingering...

what kind of a dufus sits by as your party faces hordes of orcs and undead, whips out his harp, and PLAYS A STINKING SONG???!!! he/she should be helping, firing longbows, shortbows, or crossbows at the enemy!!!

it logically makes sense that before a nasty rumble, a bard will be called on by the party leader, or the pc should play a song to bring up spirits, to make them laugh, and to improve spirits before a battle, but it makes no logical sense for the bard to keep playing while friends are battling for their lives right beside him, and he does nothing??? a jester does makes sense, since his song casts chaos on the enemy, but a regular bard???

its just not logical...makes sense in game terms, since game logic is different...but just not realistic...now bard song should possibly heal if used after battle, to improve mood, and research shows that music in hospitals helps the healing process...

makes sense??? ^_^ ^_^

just as long as you DON'T start singing...

"you are the wind beneath my wings"

*hurl!!!*

it really doesn't make that much logical sense for bards to sing DURING battle, it makes sense for them to sing after or before battle...think about it, guys... ^_^

more like the "pain in everybody's neck" :P , but I appreciate it, as it keeps everybody's output at max. So take it as a compliment.

Apart from "Brave Sir Robin" I do not know any enticing battle songs

Apart from "Brave Sir Robin" I do not know any enticing battle songs
:D

young man, there's no need to feel down.
I said, young man, pick your sword off the ground.
I said, young man, 'cause you're in a new town
there's no need to be unhappy.

young man, there's a place you can go.
I said, young man, when battling evil is all you know.
you can stay there, and I'm sure you will find
many ways to have a righteous time.

it's fun to stay at the N-O-R-H.
it's fun to stay at the N-O-R-H.

This Noble Order has everything for you men to enjoy,
you can hang out with all the boys...

it's fun to stay at the N-O-R-H.
it's fun to stay at the N-O-R-H.

you can get your armor cleaned, you can polish your staff,
if you're a cleric and that's what you have...

young man, are you listening to me?
I said, young man, a Paladin is what you want to be!
I said, young man, you can join the Radient Heart.
but you got to know this one thing!

no man fights evil by himself.
I said, young man, grab your shield from the shelf,
and just go there, to the N-O-R-H.
I'm sure they can help you today.

it's fun to stay at the N-O-R-H.
it's fun to stay at the N-O-R-H.

This Noble Order has everything for you men to enjoy,
you can hang out with all the boys...

it's fun to stay at the N-O-R-H.
it's fun to stay at the N-O-R-H.

you can get your armor cleaned, you can polish your staff,
if you're a cleric and that's what you have...

young man, I was once in your shoes.
Evil was everywhere, and Good sure to lose.
Smiting just didn't feel right.
I felt the whole world was so wrong...

that's when someone came up to me,
and said, young man, walk to the temple district.
there's a place there called the N-O-R-H.
they can start you back on your way.

it's fun to stay at the N-O-R-H.
it's fun to stay at the N-O-R-H.

This Noble Order has everything for you men to enjoy,
you can hang out with all the boys...

N-O-R-H ... you'll find it at the N-O-R-H.

young man, young man, there's no need to feel down.
young man, young man, pick your sword off the ground.

N-O-R-H ... you'll find it at the N-O-R-H.

young man, young man, there's no need to feel down.
young man, young man, pick your sword off the ground.

N-O-R-H ... just go to the N-O-R-H.

young man, young man, are you listening to me?
young man, a Paladin is what you want to be!

Mellissan and her band of goons give you a very special presentation tonight!

I just envisioned them doing your song as end credit to your new godhood. B)
I wonder who is going to be the policeman? <_< or naturally it has to be the whole gang of NORH.

grim has made this really evil and sick picture of anomen and keldorn pasted into a promo of the village people...

pm him, and maybe he can send it to you...

it literally will blow your mind...and your lunch...

glad you liked my little song...back on topic...

i really think that making bard song logical would be the way to go...

if bard song is nerfed to sight radius and made non stacking, which makes logical sense...then it should absolutely be made perisistant, so it actually becomes a buffing thing...which makes perfect sense... :P :)

To Userun

A fighter is a fighter, a mage is a mage, clerics a cleric, and a thief is just a thief..

so it makes perfect sense for a bard to be a bard..

what i mean is.. in battle.. you would rely on the fighters to melee (tank) and you would expect a mage to stay long ranged, behind the wall(tanks) to stay safe and cast without miscast.. same with clerics. you dont want them getting hurt and using up those healing spells on themselves do you? -_-

so how about a bard. a bard really is a jack of all trade. melee, magic, thief all in one ^_^

able to use everything ( like a fighter) good , pick pocket (thief) crap .. (but there is that realy good use everything ability), magic (mage) great!. to really make the bard into a 'jack', a bard would need something cleric-y.. that's where the song comes in..

fight if he has to ( a true bard rpg player never uses him as melee .. unless you got the kit for it ). pick pocket for 1 ring( the rings kinda good.. if you dont use is .. sell it), use offensive spells (mage) a big help, and using his or her song for support(cleric) sweet stuff ( boost like support spells for unlimited use per day)..

personally i luv using bards... and i like his song ablilty.. 'Moral and luck' nice. and the challenge of actually getting him to access his high level abilities? SWEET!

like i said.. a true bard user shouldnt have to worry about melee or ranged. stick with the song and spell and watch your party reap the rewards.

regarding the song boost stacking or not... i think they should keep it. ( i dont use it... but it sounds fair when comparing to other classes... boosted the bards grade score real up)

well that's how i see it.

ohoh.. the range of the song is logical isnt it?

think about it

we know how sound echoes.. and sound can spend for a very long distance..

so if you guys are gonna change the range. why dont you make it say... different ranges depending on different environments :P

like if you really wanna get logical..

sound would travel in a jailhouse.. but wont say in a forest
