Keeping Hubelpot Alive

By the time I got around to doing Trademeet, & let Cernd join, he & Cernd had the same amount of XP.
Early on (after an initial rest), he can pretty much sit inside a Sanctuary for several combats (Innate, Horn, 1st level spells) while gradually levelling up. I also used some early Invisibility potions (having assigned him no script, he'd politely sit there & not break his Invisibility) to keep him safe.
Once he hit level 6 or so, I felt comfortable enough giving him a sling & letting him contribute where he could. How's it working out so far? He now has "Toughest Enemy: Firkraag", after a well timed 2 points of damage from a Creeping Doom.
