What happened to...

15 April 2005 - 08:12 AM

Just havent seen him around in some while, also wasn't he a moderator on the PST forum ? So what did happen ?

Item create new item in slot. iwd2.

31 October 2004 - 06:31 AM

Editing in Icewind Dale 2, using NearInfinity. Tried the DLTCeditor, but did not like it at all, much messier and i couldnt find anything at all in the item abiltiy list.

I have tried to make an item (bracers) create an item in the weaponslot (dagger).
Also an armor that make a helmet into the helmet spot while equiped.

Now the results have been rather... sporadic. I have finally gotten the Armor to generate the helmet rather reliablly. I still do not understand how to make the helmet go away if i unequip the armor ? Mostly this isnt a problem, but gets a tad messy.

I have had more problems with the Bracers trying to generate a dagger, also tried with shield, not been able to get that to work at all yet. The dagger worked once, and i seem to have forgotten how i managed to get it working, the dagger also had the problem with leaving the daggers when unequipped, of corse. Whenever i set it to generate in one of the 8 weapon slots, it pops up on some place in the lowest row of inventory instead. ofcorse replacing whatever was there (not important).

I also sem to have problems getting an item to gain "spells" or "abilities" like for example the angelskin ring with the cure light wounds innate ability, but i belive thats becose i havent explored enough on that area yet. the Turturial did not help me as much as i use NI.

Thanks in advance to anyone reading this.

Freeform BG1 ?

I have looked a good bit at this forum and did a little searching, so if this has apeared before please make make better topics ;) (or alternativelly just yell at me.)

I was mostly curious if anyone had thought of a mod where you simply randomise every magic item and most of the "named" enemies in Baldurs Gate 1, also unlocking most of the story so it doesnt get so rigid. It would do wonders for replaying the game.

I am getting to the point where no matter what map in the game i go to i feel that i went there for a munchkin reason, even if i didnt really intent such. If i go to the Nashkel mines map, i know theres Greywolf there with hes +2 longsword, and i know theres a wand of frost in the tree... and so on. it kinda ruins replaying of the game for me.

So what i am askingis, how much work would it be to put every named enemy in a random encounters with globals saying "greywolf=dead/alive" and done same with most if not all magic items. I do belive that shopps are rather difficult to randomise ? unless you randomise the shoppkeeper. And well, overriding certain plot things, like beeing able to get into the banditcam, cloackwood, and baldurs gate.

That would make the game much more freeform, and a tad fresher each time. And on your toes every time you enter a map, are you gonna meet an Ogre, or that nasty Ramazit in that cave ? and will he give you 25 gold pieces or a wand of missles ?

thank you all for your moments of attention, i hope i did not bore you all.
