Does vampires always have to be evil?



I'd say no. Read the Ravenloft novel 'Vampire of the Mists' (by Christie Golden) sometime. It's main character is one Jander Sunstar, a 500 year old gold elf vampire and he was most definately not evil. Hope this helps. :P

Actually, it'd be more interesting if the PC's had common soldiers on their side as well (as in they were a smaller part of a larger force) and they could help with planning and troop deployment decisions before hand that would change the specifics of the battle (more/less enimies, how many/what kind of allies you have. Such as one plan might be to summon a bunch of dangerous monsters into the middle of the enemy army to destabalise them and so when you and your troops attack there'd be your side, the enemy side and a bunch of monsters attacking both sides). If done right it could be interesting.


As a side note, has anyone thought of doing a ToB Extension pack? You know, something to add quests to it and make it an all around longer experience?

Sorry, my bad. A file must have gotten currupted durring the download. It works now. Still think it's unbalanced though, Maybe we could kick around a few ideas on improving it? ^_^


The familiar idea has been done? *click* Hmmm *reading*, no I don't think this is exactly what I mean. These threads are talking about adding a different kind of familiar with Shadow Keeper, and a familiar banter pack (a good idea, but not the one I suggested). What I meant was that you get a larger assortment of choices (the actual familiar is selected randomly) when you cast the spell. :P Hope that helps.

Actually, expanding the choices of animals available for familiars would probably be a good idea (my favorite's the Psudo Dragon), but I wouldn't just have you pick from a list. Make it somewhat random (like it is in D&D), neutral animal familiars (wolfs, birds, beatles, etc) can go with anyone, evil demon/devil familiars go with evil PCs (stuff like quasits, imps, and hell hounds) while good PCs get good familiars (err... can't think of any off the top of my head, I'm sure there are a few).


As a side note to Awake:

I took a look at your Samurai mod (it is a fighter kit right?) and, while I like the idea, it seems a little unbalanced (and badly worded, the readme could have been clearer). Also will there be a Weidu version? I'm trying to avoid non-Weidu mods since they have a tendency to screw something up in my game.
