As far as Horred started great project of weiduing SoS and TDD modes to make new BP in the final I'm asking myself (but surely HIM mostly  ): what will be a structure of that thing? Will all those mods be functional alone (as far as they'll be wiedu)or in partial install (f.e. no SoS, TDD, some of Sir BillyBob's mods - but they require BGT)?
Will all of thew require BGT installed?
What mod should go first to be installed? Or would an order of installations affect something?
And of course I'm looking forward for the real WEIDU BGT :D

As things exist right now, there're a LOT of unused or duplicating things in the final BP-BGT install: NPCs, creatures, dialogs or dialogs entries with absolutely unknown origin (with broken strrefs sometimes), items, spells, stores, even areas.... Too many junk for my programmer's eyes... B) And what is the most 'interesting' - they come from Bp-BGT package, 313 patch or from _s_and_h_ patch as well....
Shouldn't we clear it a little? ;)

I am certainly up for the clearing thing. Won't make bug-fixing so confusing then.

I already had a thread for this topic--even if it is in the BP forum. :P

TDD-weidu is uploading right now, and SoS-weidu is in the queue.

I set these up so the order 'should be' irrelevant. I didn't test without all 3 mods, and I didn't test any BP part. For BP, I have about 6-7 hundred more scripts, and 30 D files to go through. Before I do, I'm releasing my NWN mod. So, progress is slowed a bit.

And I NEVER volunteered to fully weidu BGT. I think it needs it, though. Care to take on the task? Anyone? Hmm? Hmm?

The "junk" accumulated from many patchings, over a period of time--not really all at once. Consider the magnitude of this project, and that one man did it originally, before you criticize too much.

As far as the bulk of the 1000's of CRE files go--I spent several full days lowering the XP for all these creatures, so BP-BGT+++ wouldn't peak you at lvl50 in SoA. Getting HLA's in the UD--in BP solo-- was bad enough!

Since SirBillyBob's mods take place in BG1, I don't see how BGT would not be a requirement for them.

Oh, filesize (packaged) for TDD is 106,885,327 bytes. For SoS: 100,509,091 bytes. WinRar extractors, cased in a zip--aka my standard procedure. Extract to your game folder.

I think a more effective task that WeiDUing BGT would be to duplicate the transition in a mod to be installed over the top of Tutu.

Included--Ascension weidu is Not compatible with BP--the maker of weidu didn't use his own tool properly. :whistling:

I installed the baldurdash fixes into tdd and sos before weidu-ing them.

The uploads are complete, and the wizard knows that they were coming--so give him a day or so, and they will be accessible.

Sim: that's not a bad idea, but DAMN! I hate that name. Remember the orcish ballerina pic? :P

If Tutu finally got a transition to BG2 like BGT has, that would make it a much better mod. Add in Horred's AI and a butload of more monsters and yeah, that may be seriously worth playing.

Having Tutu in the 'very big picture' would really be wonderful :^^:

Please allow a newbie question though: I always thought that Tutu kind of 'replaced' the BGII resources (areas, music, scripts etc.), so a simple transition wouldn't do it - it would require resolving those resource conflicts first, wouldn't it? I fthis is true, can weidu / weimorph help with this or does all this need to be done manually?

Horred, why do you dislike Fileplanet so much? Sure it may take a few weeks for the files to get posted, but at least they have resonable downloading speeds.

1.28 kb a second on a cable modem is insane.

I think it'd make it way, way worse. But it's undeniably a more effective approach than taking the time to convert BGT to WeiDU. And the end result is rather more pretty.

No, it doesn't replace resources. You just can't access BG2 with it installed. All the data is still there.

When I can normaly download files at 40-100 kb/s? I severly doubt it will help when its at about 1-5% normal speed.

I got the files, it just took 27ish hours for each one instead of the 2-3 it would have normally taken.

Some people can't leave their cpu's on that long.

yes, it does help that much. You should get roughly 25-30 kbs with a d'load accellerator. Don't ask me why...

AfaIk, you can continue using it afterwards, but each time you start it up, you have to wait the number of days you have been using it in seconds before it becomes usable, at least that's how it is for me.
