I'm not sure if this is appropriate posting in here since I am a guest, but I just have a single question.

I installed BGT at last and I love how it is so far. However....there is one thing that bugs me a little. I started BG again, and my character is now Level 7, as I suppose he would be in Baldur's Gate II if I played normally. However, I would rather want to start and level up from the beginning like before. Is this normal or is there a way to reset my character back to Level 1? Because I want to start from the beginning, so to speak, you know? ^^;

You imported character? If it was lvl 7 in .chr it will be lvl 7. If it was 30 it will be 30.

No, I just made one from scratch. I'm gonna try to import my previous character, see if that works.

Normally this shouldn't happen.
In the past, with the old BGT, you needed to run XP-patcher after your install to set your starting XP to 100 - nowadays, BGT-weidu should have done that for you. You are using the latest ZETA aren't you?

Something which might cause this are the kits from Art of Weaving - they are in principle compatible with BGT-weidu but they always make your character start at level 7 if you have chosen to play one of the 4 kits included in this mod.

Otherwise, I have no idea what might cause this. You might want to run Xp-patcher and set your starting XP at 100 manually - but I would be rather suspicious of my entire install if I were you - you are supposed to start the BG1 part of BGT-weidu at level 1 with 100 XP.

I've always wondered, why 100xp instead of 0?

Well, I don't know why exactly 100 - because you started with 100 XP in a normal BG1 game probably. I do know however that 0 won't work (for some hardcoded reason), although 1 should work if that is what you want.

Samuel, what language of BG2:SoA and BG2:ToB do you use?

Um....I'm using the English Version, I think. I'm not too entirely sure. There isn't a Region Setting on the BG II config. I got both games frmo the Baldur's Gate II Collection Box I bought frmo Amazon, it was brand new. I am certain this is English, Region 0.

It is simple solution...I am almost sure that there are 2 versions of BGMain (I mean versions with different offsets to starting XP)...I am sorry to tell ya...but the best way is to integrate TeamBG XP Patcher (or similiar utility) into installation process instead of weidu commands...why? because weidu operates on offset #, and XP Patcher finds the correct offset by himself (no matter what version).
What can I tell to those which after ENG installation has 7th level...use English for Polish instead of pure English-there are no translation at that 99Z and there won't be...it'll be 100% english...just as usual...but u should start at 1st :]
Another words:
1. if u install ENG and start at 7th use ENG for PL
2. if u install ENG for PL and start at 7th use ENG
:) I hope it'll help ya.

The problem with the XP patcher is that it needs to be uninstalled manually. The good thing for WeiDU is that it not only can uninstall the 'patch', but can also dynamically check the offset. However, I need to know how the TBG utility determines what offset it is. It should be simple to code a similar function in WeiDU.
