Hmm, seeing as I've never played Neverwinter Nights II, I've got to say that I'm a bit unfamiliar with this world. Still, your characterisation of Ele'ena is very, very nice. The reluctant hero is painted really convincingly. :)

So nice to see NWN2 stuff here. I like how you depicted a reluctant hero originally (for once it's not "I cringe from my destiny when it happens, forgetting I've been a very active character up until now", rather "I've always been lazy and that's how it's gonna stay"). Though, if Ele'ena wastes thoughts on what's driving the Lizardfolk from the Mere, then I'd bet she'll want to get involved at some point ;)

Happy writing!
"I set on this journey trying to understand why has metal been stereotyped, dismissed, and condemned. My answer is this: if, listening to that music, you don't get that overwhelming rush of power that makes the hair stand at the back of your neck, you may never will. But you know what, it doesn't really matter. Because, judging from the 40 000 people around me, we're doing just fine without ya." :) Cheers! And two horns up for metalheads all around the world!

Thank you :D

Well, seeing how my Bhaalspawn is extremely active I thought I'd try something a bit different for my NWN2 hero.

Shadowhawke - I'm very glad you think so. I'm always terrified that my original characters might come across as Mary Sues.

DalreïDal - Eh, perhaps I didn't explain it well. It was supposed to be in the back of her mind. Very, utterly, past the life-saving chocolate cake and daily pranks sort of back of her mind type. And yes, Sloth is Ele'ena's middle name and is going to stay her middle name.

 Loved your new chapter, Orthodoxia. It was a very nice mixture of humour and plot revelation... and I must admit, the relationship you described between Ele'ena and her foster father tugged quite a bit at the heartstrings. Just a note; if you're using Microsoft Word or any other program with a spellchecker or grammar checker, quite a few of your slip-ups could be corrected. That said, you write amazingly well for someone who's English is a second language! I bow down to you, I really do. :)

Please keep going. You've got me hooked. ^_^

Very funny! Ele'ena reminds me of an even sillier version of Imoen-hard to think she'll one day become the famed Knight-Captain! I've enjoyed it greatly so far!

Shadowhawke - Yes, I am using the Microsoft Word but it can help only so much when I start confusing words like: sigh - sight - sign, and not seeing the mistakes later <_< I hate those words. The spellchecker can only help me if I misspell something not when the word is correctly written but isn't supposed to be there.

Solstice - Famed Knight-Captain? What makes you think she won't become the worst Knight Captain in the recorded history of Neverwinter

Wow! And so the adventure begins. Truly, Orthodoxia, I felt so incredibly sorry for Ele'ena there... that's an awful way to have to start out. And she doesn't even have the knowledge that her foster father loves her.

Eager and ready to see more. :)

I love your portrayal of the characters, Orthodoxia. Her new dwarven companion certainly seems to be the interesting type :P. I'm curious about this drow, though. Will he/she be reappearing?

Late response. Again  I'm starting to see a pattern here.

The characterization is pulled directly from the game so I can't take the credit for that :P And no, I don't plan for -them- to show up anymore, but who knows. When I write various characters find a way to worm their way into the story whether I want it or not :D

Better late than never. :) I've just started NWN2 myself, so don't know who many of these characters are yet, but I expect I'll see soon.

Orthodoxia, you're a natural at this!

Just finished reading it and I'm thrilled with the way its turned out, not justice that I didn't look here more often during the past weeks ^_^, shame on me. <_<

I noticed a few typos along the way, but nothing too serious.

And I disagree with the notion your character Ele'ena is a slacker, she seems more like the type that would do something regardless of pay, but she gets easily annoyed with running tasks just at the drop of the hat y'know.

Great character development, especially with Aimie, Khelgar, Neeshka and of course, Ele'ena. Really makes me eager to try NNW2 out once more, once my system specs are up to scratch. :)

Loved the final bits of the latest chapter, especially the bit with Neeshka and Khelgar still going at each other in a childish way, oh if only there was some animation showing it, couldn't stop laughing because of it. ^_^

meh anyways. can't wait to see what's next. :)
Keep up good work!

Were I a natural I wouldn't take months between the chapters but thanks anyway :D And ignore typos please, I'm fighting a loosing battle with them <_<

Ele'ena is a slacker, she just doesn't know how to say no in the face of authority. And she does hate running errands. And as I said character development is pulled directly from the game so I take no credit there.

I so love writing those two supposed adults. In the game even without the animation it is clear that the dwarf and the tiefling are at each other's throat constantly.

Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for a nice review

Neeshka  , oh you're such a trouble maker ^_^

For some reason I like her for that tho, loved the new chapter Orthodoxia.

Though I must admit I was getting confused at the start, considering on how the scene changed so drastically, but that ended well regardless, and that boot business sure was something humorous.

Poor fella only wanted his enchanted boot back. :crying: Meanie you are Neeshka :P

Now I do have another question, just what exact class is Ele'ena supposed to be, at first she seemed like a thief of sorts, now I got confused with the mentioning of warlock practices and so on.

Still, managed to see a bit more maturity in her this time which I suppose is a good and bad sign, and her commitment to that necklace is a really cute thing to see coming out of her. Makes her personality shine the most in my opinion.
Meh! And Elenee is starting to remind me of Jaheria a little.

Anywho, this ends yet another loooong post of mine. Look foward to seeing the next chapter ^_^

Yes, Neeshka is a troublemaker and she always makes the poor undead get up in search of their footwear :P I honestly felt sorry for that little zombie :D

Ele'ena is supposed to be a warlock - natural and all that... <_< But she never had anyone to teach her the basics, and she's afraid to tell anyone that she is one seeing how warlocks aren't exactly popular among general public (the country folk and all). So now she just gets by the only way she knows how: by sheer dumb luck. She had adopted the one famous line by Jack Sparrow: "We must fight - to run away!" It's her life's philosophy.

Elanee had always reminded me of the younger, milder version of Jaheira. She seemed to me more stalker-ish when you play a male PC.

Why is it good and bad sign to see a more maturity in her  (not that it was planned or anything, this story writes itself it seems)

Thanks, and keep the long posts coming

Just caught up with your recent chapters, Orthodoxia. :). And I've got to say, you're really making me want to play NWNII. That said, I'll just echo again how much I love the way you write your characters, and how hilarious that last encounter between her and the bandit leader was. ^_^.

That... left a disturbing dream impression, just the way this black obsidian eyed bloke should've.
Great work again Orthodoxia :D

And that bear is familar for some reason... a familar face maybe? ^_^

*sigh* just too bad NWN2 is suddenly being a pain in the ass, hope this issue will be resolved in the appropriate section of SHS tho, can't wait to start playing it again, and be proud your writing has played a critical role in that. :)

Anyways, look foward to the next chapter, as always ^_^
And if its long, I'll be sure to try and make a long review next time. :D
Again, Great Work!

Thank you :D

Shadowhawke - For some strange reason, or another, the bandit leader was one of the favorite characters in the game for me. I don't know why really but he is. And I hope you'll find the future chapters equally interesting.

Solar's Harper - *ego swells unimaginably* Ok, that's it. You'll turn me into second Edwin with the way your reviews are going  Hope you get the game up and running. I know my computer is always close to death when I try to play.

Hey, I just tells them as I sees them
And so far I've rarely had to critcise anyone on SHS, and no one who has done fics here. :)

And unless you're insistent on getting nose rings and start calling everyone simians and blabbering on about your 'obvious intelligence' and muttering loud enough for everyone to hear. I doubt you'll end up an Edwin. ^_^
Oh and lets not forget what happens in the case of gender curse changes. :D

Thanks for your support tho, mine's simply a case of missing dlls for some reason, finding a remedy is becoming a real pain. :(
I've considered using something called pr0t stop 1.0, which as far as I'm concerned is a last resort. I prefer to stick to the main channels until I end up sniffing viruses, then I'll lose patience and go rouge on my PC.

Anyways I set up a thread for help in the Eletric Chair, which I feel I'll be really needing to be a real chair of electricity before the night is out for me.
So... *Fingers Crossed*
