Well, you may be right. I had this experience re the uselessness of Mirror-Image in Chateau Irenicus with the "improved Ilyich" mod - and I did use stoneskin as well, but still couldn't cast a single spell. I didn't get this effect with just Ilyich and his buddies but also with the various hobgoblins before reaching the library - it's possible that the hobgoblins were also equally buffed up, but I doubt it. At any rate, I'm reinstalling with Tactics first, and then DOTQuestPack so things should work out fine.
