Like the title says, it seems that my companions in Planescape: Torment seem to be entirely focussed on their leader, as they don't seem to talk with each other at all, except when interjecting in a different conversation TNO was holding.

Now, I love to have the attention of others sometimes just as anyone, but this is ridiculous. I know that they are supposed to have banter among themselves.

Currently I have Morte, Dak'kon and Annah in my group. I know there's banter at least between Annah and Morte. Just before entering the Tenement of Thugs for the first time, I had gotten the first banter between Annah and Morte, but I had to reload before that point again, and they didn't have that banter again.

I'm currently in the Lower Ward, and have not yet ventured into the Clerk's Ward, but am in the Foundry at this time.

So my question is, is there some way to get those banters to trigger? I think it's a shame that I can't get them to talk at all. Or some way to fix this at all?

By the way, I am using the 4 CD crack by Platter, since the game used to freeze when entering the Dead Nations on CD 3. The game is patched, and I'm using the fixpack by Platter too. I'm also using the Gibberlings Three tweak pack (all features, except the Max hitpoint one because that made the game crash upon starting it), and various mods by Platter, including the Tome of Cheats.

Please help me... :crying:

What, there're NPC-NPC banters in PS:T? I don't remember any. There were a few interjections when they bickered and such, but no NPC-NPC banters, from what I recall.

They're not very long, as far as I can tell, but they're there. There even is a fix in Platter's fixpack that was to fix a trigger that prevented certain banters from firing.

I even took a look in the Infinity Explorer. There's lots of them there. I think Dak'kon doesn't have any, though. There definitely are several between Morte and Annah, and as I mentioned, one of them did trigger, though I couldn't repeat the occurrence.

My assumption is that the triggeres are still bugged. :(

Well since you've already checked it out, I can only say that the fixpack at least gives some chance that the banters will trigger.

I don't think anyone has managed to get PS: T up to the standard of the Baldur's Gate fixes just yet, and there are no fixpacks around aside from the ones on the list that I know are reliable.

There is no guarantee sadly the banters will appear by said characters, and a fairly high chance still that players will miss them. So far for me, some banters have appeared, but not many. :(

And there is at least 2 banters if I recall correctly, between each NPC. Many however a reliant on there being a third party. ie: Morte/Mordon talking about Annah

So don't be suprised if there are only two other NPCs with the Nameless One, and they don't speak that often in banter context.

Bleh, I hate being this unuseful. Sorry Jazha, but I can't suggest anything aside from that. :(

From my experience, they trigger, but very rarely so. Don't expect BG2ish time between dialogues.

Ah, I see. Thanks for clearing this up, Solar and Daul. Even if you couldn't really help, it is still appreciated. I guess there's nothing to be done, then.

It seems my game has decided it is finally time to have the first dialogue between Annah and Morte to happen again, because it just triggered. Oh well, let's see if I'll see any others or if I will have to read them in the Infinity Explorer (which is a lot less enjoyable, obviously).

You are using the player initiated dialogs as well to see if that moves things along right?

Yes, I am. I love that I can actually talk to my companions when I want to. I love finding out more about my companions.

I've had another banter between my companions start, again between Morte and Annah. So it does seem to work.
