Bladesinger problem i the mega mod

Hi all,

I've noticed that my Bladesinger doesn't gain any mage spells :crying: after reaching 8 lvl.I played BGT before with bladesinger and I never had that kind of problem.It only after I installed BWP and ran the game there is a problem.
Is there anything I can do about it???Is it only bladesinger or any other variation of fighter-mage that figter won't be able to memorise spells and cast them???

Could you please post a WeiDU.log?? :) (you shouldn't even be getting the Bladesinger in a BWP install :P)

As for the BWP, I've added TDD kits after the BWP installation. :)

Is there no way to play BWP with new kits.I want my bladesinger kit!!! :P

Ah :D The TDD kits are recommended to be installed right after TDD (or before Refinements at least :P ... though I guess the problems would be HLA related for that) So, at the risk of wasting your time, if you really want the kit to work as intended, you're better off changing the line in the BiG World Install.bat (right-click and Edit ;)):

to

%IFES%TDD%S%TDD%L%0%SK% 0 1 | %M%
and reinstalling again :P

There's also a fact that the TDD kits have not been tested so they would work with the BW-P,-I,-S. To learn a bit more...

This isn't the problem with Bladesinger though. Bladesinger uses the CLABFI07, and this file can take a hit from Refinements, BG tweaks, and Enhanced BG2 as well.

This makes two mods I've found in a single day, that overwrite essential TDD files and have gone unnoticed for years. What's going on there Big World guys? :P

Just poking fun, cause I'm one of the few that can, an anomaly throwback to the days of hammer and chisel. I'm actually quite fond of your work, and trying to help when I can. ;)

Well, seeing as the bladesinger is one of my favorite bar-none TDD kits, and that I'm the guy that originally went through the pains of making it work, and further still cause I gave that kit to Khalid with Level-1 NPC mod, there will be a quick-fix for this soon. ;) Watch this thread for a little voodoo package. :devil:

As far as the bigger issue goes...is it going to be the big old mods accomodating the little new mods like the olden days (for the simple reason we can control them, nothing more), or can the littler newer mods move around the big ones in 2010? We shall see as the drama unfolds.

Right, I attach that file.As for the error, I was getting one(error in line 4905 or something like that)but I cleared everything under the point of 100 in the soundlist file and it was ok. As for changing that bat file to have bladesinger kit running properly, you mean the whole BWP install or only TDD installation(but that would probably effect my BWP installation anyway right?).Is there no quicker way ? ;) hehe to reinstall the whole thing bloody hell that's 9 h :D .SorryvI'm not really good in all this ... :blink:

I just checked the verion and it says on the screen v2.5.26498
Ii is a new dvd edition there was no need of installing that patch(when I did just to make sure I couldn't run the game becouse it was requesting expansion cd :angry: )

Did I mention that that I work with vista? 8) (but I turned off that controll thing anyway
so...)

In the archive you'll find 3 files.

Two 2da files: CL_BSING.2da
--example--KITLIST.2da

One Player Script: B_SINGER.BS

You place the CL_BSING.2da in your override. You have to manually edit :ph34r: your kitlist.2da file. I provided an example of what needs to be done, and it opens in any text editor. Unfortunately, your kitlist.2da is tucked away in some anonymously-named biff catalog, so you'll need an editor like NearInfinity or DLTCEP just to get to it. Make the changes, save, and you've done the hard part.

The script is only provided if you want to fix your 'current save game'. I didn't feel like starting from scratch, so there you go :D

Place it in your scripts folder, and start the game. Select this script for your player, and light the little AI lantern up. It wil give you some funky message after doing some re-combobulating, and a few seconds later will redirect you to a new script. This script will be the illustrious BPMULTI.bcs, which you'll have already if you've been good. If not fret not cause the next version is all but uploaded, and it blows away its predecessor. ;)


PS: Well, it looks like your current install might be fubar anyways, so save the 2da files and fixes for after you're done. You won't need the script for a brand-spankin new game. ;)


EDIT: (PS Note) This doesn't fix the problem, only the symptoms of one class. From what I saw, refinements and TDD kits mix like oil and water. Maybe this procedure should be followed for more kits, so they can be brought safely into the BWP install? Also, I recommend individual kit choices over mass selection, it provides a possible solution to the slot overload issue.

Since I don't use Refinements and have not tried Enhanced BG2 (which I would like to try sometime) I have not seen the problem before. Also I have been using this version of Bladesinger a kit. Attached File  bladesinger.rar   266.83K   196 downloads I think it is the same as the TDD version, but you don't need to install all the TDD kits. Also I install it late in the install order.

All TDD kits work in my weidu log except for a couple specific things with a couple kits that I have fixed for the new TDD release and teh Bladesinger kit works as intended. Some mods are old versions bar-none but I think it is pretty clear.

...and likewise for the rest of the kits. I think this is the underlying problem with installation order so the PC doesn't get the proper kit alterations and the change at level 8 will never happen. Maybe I am just weird :wacko:

Is it possible that it might couse crashes later one in the mega mod(BWP)?

Oh yeah I couldn't find that 2da file with these programs(I'm probably doing something wrong :doh: )

Okay, with refinements in you'll also have to watch for a couple of lines like these and change appropriately:

That is precisely what goes on and Refinements "copies" all of the kits to have two images in the KITLIST.2da. I am not sure what overwrote the CLABFI07 for that kit in this situation but it never affected my game. Also I don't know if there is anything that can be done on the part of TDD if kits are installed after 300 mods have been installed between the core and the kits.

That is precisely what goes on and Refinements "copies" all of the kits to have two images in the KITLIST.2da. I am not sure what overwrote the CLABFI07 for that kit in this situation but it never affected my game. Also I don't know if there is anything that can be done on the part of TDD if kits are installed after 300 mods have been installed between the core and the kits.


This isn't the problem with Bladesinger though. Bladesinger uses the CLABFI07, and this file can take a hit from Refinements, BG tweaks, and Enhanced BG2 as well.


I think it was eBG2 that did the actual overwriting, a kit in in. The final product CLABFI07.2da looked nothing at all like what it started with in TDD.


Hoppy, you missed my point. Kits that use common resource names like "CLABFI07.2da", are much more likely to be overwritten by future works than kit 2da's with names like "DD_BSING.2da" (for example) Sometimes a bit of preventative maintenance goes a long way in compatability. As the guy handling the remake of TDD, I was advising to switch the naming convention on those old kits. It's not that hard to do with an open folder and an open tp2 file side by side. Could go a long ways in headache prevention.

Good idea on the renaming :new_thumbs: and I will spend some time on that for a future release (after the upcoming one) as I already have headaches from TDD :lol: . Actually, overhauling the kits in that fashion and make separate components might take the cake and I will be looking into Region of Terror too so I can implement like changes there as well.


A couple years ago, I had the exact same problem as mr. fantastic with a BWP project installation with TDD kits at the end and none of them worked. I never got to the bottom of it but I had my hunches about kits before Refinements and so far I have had success every time. Nothing overwritten and the BALDUR.BCS properly assigns the correct kits and the KITLIST.2da is solid.
