Well shoot, I uploaded the wrong image. DA is being a bit slow today though, so all I can say is she DOES keep the scar over her eye in my portrait. I'll edit it perhaps tommorrow so enjoy her blemish free face for now.

Time for the great big post of pictures which I did not do. I did change the saturation on some of them, however.

As per recycling portraits for other uses - well what people do with the portraits is their own business once they have them, as long as they're not repacked and republished as replacer mods without asking first though. I heard Sarelith had a perfectly good default portrait and didn't need a replacement though. As for others... Christmas season is incredibly busy for me, I hope to have this bersion done and finished by the end of the year. If people have more requests (and there have been a few already) I will think about doing them for a version 1.1 of the pack or something. But seriously, NEXT YEAR! I'm out of time this year, sorry!
And be really nice to Lava, or offer to help him out with his projects if you want a speedy release.. he's the one doing all the real work getting this stuff packed, since I'm clueless. :-).

Your work is really great !
Your fade is amazing, but as said before, I thought she looked maybe too "nice" and "calm" to be really Fade
So I tried something to make her a little more fiendish :

If anybody is using the list above as an NPC replacer guide, it does have errors in it - I got some of the portrait names wrong. That was before I remembered that I could use the search function on my computer to look for all those tricky tricky .bmp files. Yes, I am just that brilliant.
Note to future modders: use the search function on your installed mod folders. Your life will be involved with so much less weeping.
The good news is that the portrait pack is 98% bugfixed. So now all I need to find is a nice host - I don't think my own dying webserver will be able to manage it - and some last minute tuning of the .exe file. So hopefully there will be finished pack out by Christmas, that is my goal.
FYI!

And you can see that visually right here: http://www.shsforums...post__p__527905
Personally I use photoshop CS1 and a tablet and stylus. There is no super secret brand or method to the stylus, mine is an ancient wacom one that's well over 5 years old, I think. It still works with pressure sensitivity, though, and that's good enough for me. And to be fair, when it comes to inking, I am starting to prefer using the path tool rather than a tablet and stylus anyway. But for things like painting and colouring the tablet is still better than a mouse.
You're not the first person to ask me this so I will say this preemptively: there is no secret software, technique, brand or other easy fix to make good portraits. You can get guidelines and tips, but for the most part to make a portrait look really good it is just plain old blood, sweat, tears, and your two eyeballs and judgement. It gets better with time though, so just start doing portraits of "unimportant" NPCs and when you've done three or four, you can start on the ones that "matter" and it will be easier. and good luck, you can never have too many portrait packs for BG2 out there. ;-)
