Thought I would post a note about our project to bring BG2 into 3D and show the progress. Nearly the entire city is finished, and now our cinematic designer DahliaLynn has finished the opening cutscene we are all familiar with where you emerge from Irenicus' Dungeon and see him in action for the first time.

OMG, that is the best thing I've ever seen. I've been tracking the progress of this since it first began, and I cannot begin to tell you how impressed I am. I shall keep on eagerly checking the blog every week

I almost thought this was a movie of the game instead of a cinematic. Very nice work, Cuv. Especially so also to DahliaLynn, it's a masterpiece! 
Though if I had to critique anything, it'd be Imoen's very odd "oh" noise from getting hit.

Thanks! I debated whether or not to use the original cutscene VO or change it. I eventually decided it wasn't worth changing since it stood out so much in the original. I do agree with you though

@Scars Unseen I think it is the lighting in those shadows. Others think she is green:) Waukeens is still being tweaked and I can revisit the lighting. Still have a night version to build too. Will try to fix that before it's released.

Well, that looks pretty good... but looking at the casted spells, Irenicus does nothing extraordinary ... well expect the one fireball spell ...
now if say Irenicus would cast one spell but it had multiple targets... that would be the extraordinary. That's what always bothered me with the whole scene... Irenicus has multiple foes but always just casts one target spells...
But the faces and the whole theme of the cutscene is very well done.

I absolutely love it !!!! And I for one am glad you stuck to the script. It brought a tear to my eye.To see my favorite alltime game brought to life like that.... you are awesome. The spell casting was perfect btw ... no need to change it.

I'm usually not into remakes or reproductions like this, but this really did impress me.
When Irenicus refers to Charname as"god child", I noticed the camera was angled in such a way that showed Imoen in the background; was this intentional? I thought that was a really clever way to foreshadow the twist about Imoen being a Bhaalspawn in a way that was impossible in the original BG2 due to the isometric camera.
