The Readme for Sword Coast Strategems recommends getting help with install orders for complex installs, so I wanted to confirm that the order I picked out won't cause terrible problems.

My install order:

  • Baldur's Gate + Tales of the Sword Coast
  • Official patch for TotSC
  • Baldur's Gate II + Throne of Bhaal
  • Official patch for ToB
  • Ascension
  • BGII Fixpack
  • Baldur's Gate Trilogy
  • Unfinished Business for BGII
  • Banter Pack (accelerators only)
  • Oversight
  • Turnabout
  • Tactics
  • Unfinished Business for Baldur's Gate (I meant to do this right before UB for BGII, but forgot)
  • Sword Coast Stratagems
  • Sword Coast Stratagems II
  • Multiclass Multikit (http://www.shsforums...d-experimental/)
  • Level 1 NPCs
  • BGII Tweak Pack

I don't think there are any compatibility issues there (although I'm not 100% sure about that multikit mod); will this order work?

Will this install order work?
Nope.... Tactics overwrites. You are much better off with the BiG World Setup program's help with these mods...

Yep, Jarno Mikkola. my Mega Mod FAQ. Use of the BWS, and how to use it(scroll down that post a bit).
OK, desert dweller, welcome to the sanity, you are free to search for the limit, it's out there, we drew it in the sand. Ouh, actually it was still snow then.. but anyways.

Additionally, you might want to add ToBEx at the beginning of your install, (after the patches, before Ascension/Fixpacks)...SCSII will automatically install a version of it, (AFAIK), but it'll be a bit out of date. Furthermore, it's recommended to install BG1 "new content", (UB, for example), close to the beginning, usually after fixpacks, then BG1 tweaks/behind the scenes stuff, (stuff like SCS), then BG2 content, (UB2, etc. - Ascension, however, is an exception - should stay were it is, AFAIK), then BG2 tweaks/behind the scene stuff, (SCSII, then BG2 Tweaks, for example). I don't think Tactics would work very well with SCS, (both in vision as well as technically, as mentioned above)...but that's just me.

You can also check Micbaldur's Weidu Log from his latest install:

This is, roughly, tested and working install order for current BWS. Just pick mods you want and install it in this order and go play. :-)

OK; revised install order, then:

  • Baldur's Gate + TotSC
  • Official patch for TotSC
  • Baldur's Gate II + ToB
  • Official patch for ToB
  • ToBEx
  • Oversight (Tougher Sendai)
  • BG2 Fixpack
  • Baldur's Gate Trilogy
  • Unfinished Business for BGI
  • SCS
  • Baldur's Gate Tweak pack
  • Ascension
  • Item Upgrade (since there doesn't seem to be an a la carte version of Wes Weimer's Carsomyr fix from this mod)
  • Cliffkey: A Mod for the Orderly
  • Banter Pack (banter accelerator only)
  • Unfinished Business for BGII
  • SCSII
  • Multikit mod
  • Level1NPCs
  • BGII Tweak pack

Is this order likely to work?

Actually, I think I'll install Oversight/Tougher Sendai and Oversight's Alignment fixes right after Ascension.

I think that if you are using original Ascension it must be installed early, after Tobex, so Oversight can go after it. If you are using BP-Ascension, it goes in the middle like you posted.

You can read details about installs and mods in pdf: http://www.shsforums...d-v114-english/
