You used the "BiG World Install.bat (fixed and well-tried)" option that uses the cmd-window and brings up the dialogues about what you want, where your game is and so on. If you use BWS with "BWS: BiG World Project (detailed customization)", it will not bring up the BiG World Install.bat but continue to install in the same manner / GUI that way shown during the extraction-process. And you likely selected to install the mods by your own ("Do you want to pause at mods with several components and select them yourself manually?"). This installs nothing since the batch does not look for that option when it starts to install stuff.

Oh! Lol. Ok. I'll use that when I get home then.
I assume I'll have to delete my weidu log again?
Also, should I just leave the files extracted in the game dir. as they are, or start from scratch?
Thanks!

Restoring the backup would removes all files from your bg2-folder that did not exist when the backup was made.
Make sure you look at the BWS screen with the mods/components-selection. If you see a "batch-message", you've got something wrong. It should look like this: Componentnumber: Componenname, where the name is just taken from the WeiDU-entries that are created after you install some components, it's nothing fancy.

Ahhh. I have the batch message on everything. Always wondered what that meant.
I'll post some shots of it when home tonight.
Possible solutions? Reasons I have those messages?

Nothing changed the last few days:
you'll have to restart the BWS, press the back-button (in the folder selection screen) and tell the BWS to go with "BWS: BiG World Project (detailed customization)". Then go into the selection screen, get your additions (check the mods components are listed) and let it go through again.
Or just delete the BiG World Setup\Config\User.ini. That contains your current selections and the BWS should start to ask for languages / games and folders again. Make sure you are not installing anything if you are going to delete that file.

Ok, I did a restore first, just to make sure things are clean. Here is what I ran into when it said it couldn't be restored:
BiG World Install.bat could not be deleted.
Setup-!BG1sounds.tp2 could not be deleted.
Setup-BG1sounds.tp2 could not be deleted.
Everything else was deleted and everything else was created, so I manually deleted these files. I'm going to assume that fine, and proceed with a fresh BWS.

Also, is this the time to disconnect from internet and disable AV software and all that?

Lol, I guess I'm just easily distracted.

So, last couple of question for awhile:
I have TOB extender installed. Also, per the setup instructions that Imp posted, I created a shortcut of my BGMAIN onto my desktop before I started the install.
So, since have have TOBex, I need to ignore the BGMAIN and use the TOBex, to run the game, right?
Also, is it recommended to run the cleanup.bat?
Thanks for all the help!

The ToBEx is made to run simultaneously as the game, and no you do not need to start it... so when you just start the game via BGMain.exe(or the quick icon), it'll starts the Tobex. If it's enabled properly, it opens up a MSDOS-like window, just before the BG2 starts(so it runs in the background with a possible debug info and things). And you can see it if you Alt-Tab back to Windows when you play the game.
@dabus: Good work.

Yep, Jarno Mikkola. my Mega Mod FAQ. Use of the BWS, and how to use it(scroll down that post a bit).
OK, desert dweller, welcome to the sanity, you are free to search for the limit, it's out there, we drew it in the sand. Ouh, actually it was still snow then.. but anyways.

Ok. cool. What about the cleanup.bat? I'm assuming that just cleans up all the installer files and the like?
Posted 07 November 2014 - 08:13 AM
So stoked to fianally get playing again. Is it wrong that I want to remote in from work to my comp at home durning lunch to play?
Posted 07 November 2014 - 09:03 AM
You seriously want an answer?
Posted 07 November 2014 - 10:11 AM
Hehe. But yeah, an answer to if I run the cleanup.bat....
Posted 07 November 2014 - 11:31 AM
I wouldn't do that (since it does not work that way any more).
Debugging stuff also may get harder or you won't have the files that might solve the problems any more.
At least that was the case some time ago.

Ok cool. Thanks!
