Help with Assassination mod

19 July 2009 - 03:24 PM

Not sure if this is the right place to post this.

Anyway... the second target in the assassination mod is someone at the temple of Lathander. I have to talk to one of the priests in the temple to make the target spawn. The problem is, I wiped out the temple of Lathander a while ago so there is no one to talk to. Does anybody know the creature code of either the priest I have to talk to or the target?

Thanks

Problem with BWP setup.

04 July 2009 - 03:49 PM

Ok, so I installed BWP a while ago and it worked fine; I just got a new PC so I need to install it again. I just completed BG so I don't want to play through it again so I am trying to just do a SoA install.

So I have a full install in C:\Games\Black Isle\BGII - SoA (I have Vista). I run BGII and make a save in SoA and ToB. I run BWS and choose what mods I want and so on; they all install and extract fine.

The problem starts when the dos Weidu setup thing gets run. I choose my language and press enter and it says:

"There is no folder "BGII - SoA" in this directory. It is important that this folder etc. etc."

I close that dos window and run Big World Install.bat again and this time it says:

The file 25movies.bif is missing in your BGII - SoA....

Please make sure that you have installed the extension...

The Bioware Patch 26498 is not yet installed...

I cut the second sentence out of each line but I think that's enough.

So basically... what is my problem here? Is it because I am doing a SoA install only or .... what?

Stuttery Gameplay

20 June 2009 - 01:48 PM

Ok so I am running a standard BWP install (minus TDD/DSotSC/CtB/SoS etc.). The game has run perfectly so far (apart from a bug in Jaheira's cloakwood druid quest which I fixed thanks to this forum). As soon as I got to the Cloakwood Mines area the game started lagging - like momentary freezes, when it was paused there was no lagging. I reloaded earlier saves and no lag, started a new game and no lag. I persevered anyway and got to Natasha (the female mage on the 3rd level of the mines) and as soon as I killed her the lagging seemed to stop. That might have just been a coincidence though and it was something else causing it to lag?

So although there is no problem right now, I was just curious as to what might have caused it and anything I can do to avoid it in the future?

Cheers

Mod Compatability and Installation.

Hi,

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but anyway...

I am looking to replay BGII; I'd like to use a few mod though.

I have this list of mods I would like to install:

BG2 Fixpack (obviously)
Ascensions
Auren...
G3 Tweakpack
Questpack
de'Arnise romance
eSeries
npcdamage
Romantic Encounters
Item Upgrade
Underrepresented Items
IEP Banters
Unfinished Business
IEP Yoshimo Friendship
IEP Mazzy Friendship
IEP Viconia Friendship
Assassinations
Turnabout
Amber
Banterpack
Crossmod banter pack
D0Tweak
Divine Remix
Kivan
Oversight
Refinements
Song and Silence
Tactics/SCSII
Wheels of Prophecy
Freedom's ROV
Ashes of Embers
NPCFlirt
Virtue.

So, I would really appreciate any advice on installing these. Any compatability issues and installation order etc.

Are there any that are unnecessary (included in another mod or something)?

I have tried to do a bit of research and figure it out myself but it's a lot to take in. I have read that it is best to install Fixpack first - unless you install Ascension (which should go first?).

I think Ascension and maybe another both have improved bosses - which version is best to install? In the readme of Ascension it says Illera (sp) is "widely regarded as being insanely difficult" maybe just install the "Ascension" component and not the improved bosses?

I want to install either tactics or SCSII - tactics is pretty old now so I don't know about compatability - SCSII also seems better apart from a few parts of Tactics I wanted (improved Illyich etc.). Any advice on this? Could I just install those parts of tactics I want and SCSII after?

Thanks if you read all that - I really appreciate any help - been researching how to install mods for 3/4 days now and I just want to play the game .
