#196602 Your party!

Posted by BallOfFire on 29 March 2005 - 04:25 PM in Baldur's Gate Series

Userunfriendly, you need to teach me how to do that =P. Using Shadowkeeper you can only set one kit per character. Did you use Near Infinity or what? I never learned to use that =(. I've been wanting to solo a kensai/swashbuckler/wild mage.

There sure are. Any party with Minsc =P. I totally hated him for trying to kill me so many times when I killed innocents that I gave up on him, and then a couple months back I picked him up for just a couple minutes and that was long enough to decide never to have a party without him again. Boo rocks!.

I loved Mincs, then hated him, now I love him again. You will return to us =). And about taking a break from BG, I'm doing the same thing right now, I just enjoy talking about it more than playing it. Too bad my internet connection here stinks so bad that I can't play online games.

quite simple...a kensai is just 27 lines in the affects tab, and the innate to max damage per strike...(kai)

now the elegant way is to create a kensai, figure out the lines, and copy them into a character...13 lines to increase damage, 13 lines to increase thac0, and one line to set ac...

copy them into any character, and you've got a kensai...(if you copy to cleric, you don't need kai, cause righteous magic is the same thing, but better)

or you can just turn an npc into a kensai, level up using clua console, (to get to the kensai level you want) then turn them back into original class...

you inherit all the kensai attack ability...

for example, jaheira is a simple shapeshifter/fighter multiclass, with 27 lines added, and righteous magic added..

yeah...i should really write it up, one of these days...

i mean, i even created custom spells, to chain contingency implosion...

and made her immune to timestop, gave her perminet greater acuity, death bringer assault, summon marith...oy...

:o

I don't even know what these lines are you're talking about *_*. I know a lot about BG, but when it comes to anything beyond the game itself I'm still pretty much a newbie. What I want is a 3 class character that will level in all three kits instead of just a character that levels in all 3 classes and has some starting abilities from the kits. Would the easiest way to do that to just find out what each level up does for each kit and add the kit-specific effects in shadowkeeper everytime I level up? And yeah, you should write it all up =P. A lot of players I'm sure would be eternally grateful. Too bad that doesn't do you any good. Immunity to Time Stop should have been in the original game for charname, since he IS a Bhaalspawn.

#222451 what the casters say

Posted by BallOfFire on 20 September 2005 - 01:37 PM in Baldur's Gate Series

I also noticed that it is either Latin or some perversion thereof. In listening to the Irenicus "Redeem This Mix" literally over 1000 times, I definitely heard one of the spell school spells sound like "omni potentus.. hah!" The hah part I probably misheard, but omni potentus definitely sounds like something they would use for a spell, since omni means all and potentus means power or powerful. I think this is the invocation spell school but I could be wrong.

#187570 Shadowkeeper

Posted by BallOfFire on 10 February 2005 - 04:11 PM in Longer Road

Actually I never uninstalled.  All I had to do was load a saved game from right before I picked up Irenicus and edit that.  Maybe it's HIS colors that are the problem.

Edit:  You might want to add that they are incompatable on the download page or something.  I didn't see that anywhere, and it sure would saved a lot of time.

#187575 Shadowkeeper

Posted by BallOfFire on 10 February 2005 - 04:24 PM in Longer Road

Um lol.  Think I found a glitch.  Either that or you have a sick sense of humor =P.  If your protagonist hides in shadows before Rielev summons Irenicus from the Abyss, he charges your nearest NPC attacks, then two pit fiends appear.  Then like 5 fireballs fly into the middle of your party and boom, no more party.  I did this twice with the same result.

#187587 Shadowkeeper

Posted by BallOfFire on 10 February 2005 - 06:07 PM in Longer Road

Hmm.  Guess I'm lucky then, because I have like 8 mods installed and I've never had this problem before.  Is Near Infinity like Shadowkeeper or what?

#187636 Shadowkeeper

Posted by BallOfFire on 11 February 2005 - 01:40 AM in Longer Road

Hmm.  Maybe I'll get that then.  Thanks.  I'm also considering getting the banter mod and the imoen romance mod.  Are these compatable with LR?  I want to make sure that all the conversations make some sort of sense together, so I don't end up just ruining LR by ending up with random interejections that aren't consistent.  I only want the imoen romance mod because she is sooo boring but apparently she has a role or something in ascension, and can change Sarevok's alignment so I want her in the party.

#188389 Shadowkeeper

Posted by BallOfFire on 15 February 2005 - 02:27 AM in Longer Road

I FIXED IT!!!  I was replying to you and was going to give you my save, so I loaded it up to find out  which one was the last save where I wasn't fooling around trying to fix the problem, and I got an idea.  I dropped my three bottomless bags of holding.  Problem fixed =).  Now I don't know whether to continue my save or start over like I planned.  I had decided to start over because I was unwilling to play ToB without Irenicus (you spoiled me).  I absolutely love this mod.  Thanks for the help!  Now I know what those containers in the pocket plane are for...

#187727 Shadowkeeper

Posted by BallOfFire on 11 February 2005 - 12:12 PM in Longer Road

Hmm... does that mean that the Imoen Romance wouldn't even do anything since I'm already in ToB?  I just really hate Imoen and want to make her less boring.  I'm absolutely loving Longer Road so far though =).  I've never had so much fun with the banters.  Listening to Irenicus and Edwin fight is so fun.  WATCHING them fight is even more so.  You had me scared for a moment there.  You should add something with Boo for that part, it could be quite hillarious.  Squirrels and hampsters everywhere, rejoice!  Everyone told me not to install mods my first time through ToB, but I'm finding that Longer Road is really the only thing keeping my interest in ToB.  Now I'm actually tempted to start over once I finish it just to get the banters with other party members.

You really should consider making getting the mask from Ellesime easier though, because I almost wasn't willing to restart ToB for Irenicus, and it would have been sad to miss out on him.  That conversation is just insanely hard to know what to say, and you really can't roleplay at all if your a good polite character like mine.  At least put a warning in caps or something on the download page or readme saying that you MUST get the mask from her, because the fact that failing in the conversation adds a journal entry made me think that's how the conversation was MEANT to end.  It's too bad you made his mask unremovable; I'd love to use it on my Fighter/Mage/Thief with UAI =P.

Thanks for the awesome mod.

Edit: Ever since the Deva quest started the game has been extremely choppy, even after finishing it.  I haven't left Watcher's Keep since this happened.  Any idea how to fix it?

Edit again: It's not just Watcher's Keep.  I guess I installed one mod too many =(.

#188167 Shadowkeeper

Posted by BallOfFire on 14 February 2005 - 01:01 AM in Longer Road

The speed problem goes away if I take Irenicus out of my party.  It comes back if I put him back in.  What can I do?

Edit:  Actually the speed is normal when he dies, even if he is still in the party.  I managed to find a way to keep him in the party even while dead, but it will be kinda hard to convince a dead person to be good...

#187385 Shadowkeeper

Posted by BallOfFire on 10 February 2005 - 12:41 AM in Longer Road

Just thought I'd let you know that since I got Irenicus in my party I can no longer use Shadowkeeper to alter my characters.  I don't know if there is a way to fix this, or if you care, but I like to customize the NPCs a bit so I've had to reload from before I got Irenicus to do so.  I haven't gotten very far yet, but aside from all the reloading I've had to do because I didn't get the mask and because of Shadowkeeper, it's a pretty neat mod =).

#188313 Shadowkeeper

No one loves me =(.  Please, if anyone has any ideas let me know, I am currently out of them.

#189029 Sarevok's armor

Posted by BallOfFire on 17 February 2005 - 05:15 PM in IE Mod Ideas

Who cares? That's what mods are for =P, changing the storyline to better gameplay. Well some mods anyway. I can think of several scenarios in which Sarevok could be a Bhaalspawn still and it would still fit the basic storyline, and have him get his armor back. Just use your imagination.

#188612 Sarevok's armor

There is always a way...

#188363 Sarevok's armor

Posted by BallOfFire on 14 February 2005 - 10:12 PM in IE Mod Ideas

I agree. What's the point on resurrecting a Bhaalspawn who isn't really a Bhaalspawn? As for his armor, you can always use control-7 or control-8 (I think) to cycle through the different appearances until you come to his original one. I've done that, but if you dual wield it looks a little weird because his second sword comes out of his crotch... Also, I'm not sure that you can save the altered appearances. Maybe using Shadowkeeper though.

#189043 Rehash of an old question

Posted by BallOfFire on 17 February 2005 - 06:08 PM in Longer Road

Ah man! If that is true you should put that in the readme too =P. I asked around all over the place about what you meant by level 40 experience cap before I knew about this forum. I like the classical music, as surprised as I was to hear it for Irenicus =).

#189467 Near Infinity

Posted by BallOfFire on 21 February 2005 - 01:08 AM in IE Help

Lol. Dude I already found the slots, I just don't know how to choose an item to add to it. Shadowkeeper was so much simpler.

#189574 Near Infinity

Posted by BallOfFire on 21 February 2005 - 04:37 PM in IE Help

Lol. Of course I tried that =P, it did nothing too. I must be missing something really obvious.

#189391 Near Infinity

Posted by BallOfFire on 20 February 2005 - 01:43 PM in IE Help

Eh, what are these .jar and .bat things you are talking about? All I have is a folder titled near infinity with other folders in it and tons and tons of things that say .class at the end. I am totally lost =(.

#189433 Near Infinity

Posted by BallOfFire on 20 February 2005 - 07:30 PM in IE Help

That's what I did. Seeing what items I have doesn't do me any good. I can edit items I already have but I have no idea how to add a new one.

#189394 Near Infinity

Posted by BallOfFire on 20 February 2005 - 01:59 PM in IE Help

Apparently my computer changed the name of the .jar to .zip, so naturally I unzipped it. I downloaded the .bat and clicked that, and a window came up. I selected chitin.key and now I'm trying to figure out how to alter my save. Thanks guys.

#189405 Near Infinity

Posted by BallOfFire on 20 February 2005 - 02:44 PM in IE Help

I altered my character to be exactly what I wanted =). Except that he won't stop praying because of the Morituri class... O well. Thanks for the help.

#189320 Near Infinity

Posted by BallOfFire on 20 February 2005 - 02:42 AM in IE Help

I've been using Shadowkeeper to alter my character, but it doesn't recognize modded kits. It was suggested that I get Near Infinity to if I want to multiclass using custom kits, but I have absolutely no idea how to do this. I downloaded Near Infinity and Java because the web page I was looking at said both were necessary. I have no idea what to do with either of them *_*. How do I even start up Near Infinity? I tried opening it with Java and it wouldn't show up on the list, and if I clicked on it from the menu it did nothing.
