how about the armor? it will be great if we can see Sarevok in the full-fledged built we've seen him in the original game. Maybe founding it in a chest in Watcher's Keep or in Gromnir's hands... I think it's something worthwhile thinking about...

oh and I saw the topic with the Sword of Chaos. I think that Sarevok should be ressurected with his original Bhaal powers, but... it's just me... :whistling:

I agree. What's the point on resurrecting a Bhaalspawn who isn't really a Bhaalspawn? As for his armor, you can always use control-7 or control-8 (I think) to cycle through the different appearances until you come to his original one. I've done that, but if you dual wield it looks a little weird because his second sword comes out of his crotch... Also, I'm not sure that you can save the altered appearances. Maybe using Shadowkeeper though.

Doesn't his armor crumble to dust at the end of BG1? I may be remembering incorrectly.

Yes, it does. :)
He doesn't seem to mind being without his personal armor, though. And besides that, there are more than enough powerful suits of armor in the game.

The only reason not to have Sarevok resurrect with his former Bhaal powers is that it really wouldn't fit in the storyline. If Sarevok had his Bhaal powers he would technically be a Bhaalspawn again, and if he was do you think he would need your help? Much less travel with YOUR group, instead of just simply kill like he originally wanted to do.

But, if you weren't concerned about him being in your team you could have a good, yet somewhat cheesey (I'm speaking to the fact that it would end up just like BG1, but in Athkatla) mod.

Story line isn't the only reason, it would also unbalance gameplay.

so...yeah, bad for plot and unbalances gameplay, wonder why most people wouldn't like it.

I don't see why you would want that since it doesn't fit with the storyline ..

Who cares? That's what mods are for =P, changing the storyline to better gameplay. Well some mods anyway. I can think of several scenarios in which Sarevok could be a Bhaalspawn still and it would still fit the basic storyline, and have him get his armor back. Just use your imagination.

Then start modding. I won't stop you. Just giving my opinion.

But you want to make sure that you don't change Sarevok's character.

In Example: Now that he has regained his Bhaalspawn powers he decides to help the main character because he is now a really nice guy after having been killed.

I just don't think it fits in Sarevok's personality to help the main character if he is on the same level, the reason it works in ToB is that he doesn't have the Bhaalspawn powers in the first place and killing the main character wouldn't serve any purpose, plus it is because of you that he is able to live again (I realize that Imoen can give a piece of her soul, but she would never have if it wasn't for the main character.)

But you can take the oath with him and through discussion (in Ascension) to be able to make him better man... And I doubt it that Sarevok would be able to kill you and your entire group singlehandedly no matter that (supposedly) he was Bhaalspawn again and he had his powers back. His ghost in Hell wasn't eating chips and he is quite powerful, but yet he won't be able to take upper hand if he stand against your party.

What does his armor look like in Baldur's Gate 1, thus I can't remember...

It isn't so hard to imagine Sarevok again as a Bhaalspawn. What I'd like to see is something like one quasi-expansion based solely on Sarevok with more of his old character and story-line. Some ideas:

1. There is should be a way to give his old Bhaalspawn powers back in place, with some more imagination or fantasy.

2. More banters, possible romance with your character if you are male.

3. even if you fuck him off - he is to be returning at later stages with some quest in the bag.

4. Giving his old Bhaalspawn powers with some bonuses. Also his armor...

5. Banters with the Bhaalspawn brethern. Especially more banters with Imoen and your party.

6. A possible romance with someone of your party. Why not... He can possible romance Viconia. She is especially atracted by him in the original game. This can turn to a spark...

7. There could be also some opinion about Irenicus and your involvment with that.

8. Gaining some special abilities if you turn him to the "Light Side" beside the "good"-ending epilogue.

Of course you think this will disbalance the things, but... other of his bonuses and abilities can be lowered a bit, so that this doesn't disbalance the game so much.

I think I'll have to engage in some self-promotion here:

http://forums.rpgdun....php?board=10.0

Granted, the forum and the site aren't very informative yet, but we're getting there.

The premise we're working on, though, is that Sarevok is but a dismantled Bhaalspawn. Returning him to all of his former glory may not be absolutely ruled out, but I think it's quite unlikely.

possible romance with your character if you are male.

*raises an eyebrow* In our version here's an option to start down a romantic path, but that's female-only...

3. even if you fuck him off - he is to be returning at later stages with some quest in the bag.

I have a little trouble imagining this. Sure, he has considerable interest in Charname... but he also has his share (and then some) of pride. And since he is only a former Child of Bhaal, I'm not sure the rest of the would-be-divine ToB crew would really care what happens to him.

Don't get me wrong, it would be a neat feature if Sarevok could be brought back to the story, but it seems difficult to avoid making it seem contrived.

I think some perks will be included, but as I said, full restoration is a bit of a stretch. I think the redemption will be kept fairly toned down (no fireworks, no magica obscura; just one hell of a choice to make.)

6. A possible romance with someone of your party. Why not... He can possible romance Viconia. She is especially atracted by him in the original game. This can turn to a spark...

Frankly, I don't see how -- especially in the limited time frame of ToB -- Sarevok would be all that interested in anyone besides Charname. Besides, the fetters attached to Viconia's proposition seem a fairly effective turn-off for him.

:thumb: for returnig Sarevok back to his former self. :) After all, presumably <charname> is kicks asses everywhere, Sarevok should be as tough as Abazigal. Ok, he is very tough, but isn't nearly as powerful as his former brethern are. Of course with his former armor. I think that also in this there should be a quest.

He is kidnapped somewhere or has to do something not to die completely and this comprimises and engulfs his past as well. Afterwards the party has to decide Sarevok's fate. Also I think that his redemption can be in this cards of that... Maybe a ghost of his father or some bad boys would want to do him harm and thus will try to kill him. If he redeems himself, you'll have the chance to decide his fate and whether your former brother will die completely, or will have his old powers back...:) See it's not that bad...:) I could do it. :)

P.S. oh and sorry about this "male". I meant female. I was a little bit high yesterday...

Intoxication in any form and the internet is not a good mix. Trust me, I know...

Anyways, if Sarevok were to spawn as a bs, then it is entirely understandable that he would join the party. <CHARNAME> is stronger now and had already defeated Sarevok previously. Sarevok knows that he has no chance in defeating <CHARNAME> so he figures, "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em." That's just my opinion though.

The fact they are all slaughtering each other for bhaals power should mean that PC has already taken sarevoks fraction of essence. This being the case, if PC is already close enough to being a god that they have attained a portion of the pocket plane it could be possible for PC to be in control of the level of essence given to sarevok, in that case maybe if PC can give essence then they can take it back instantly (killing that person or lowering the essence strength). That would then be a good reason for sarevok to stay obedient even at full power. If PC dies so does Sarevok, bit like beyond divinity with the death knight. Seems logical enough in a brought back from death by your murderer sort of way lol
