#400460 Making An NPC: The Poll

Posted by Paloesha on 15 June 2008 - 09:02 PM in IE Mod Ideas

I voted for quality interaction.  Although fitting perfectly into the Baldur Gate world would be a definite plus as well.

I love to listen(or watch) characters talk, so I easily fall head over heels for any mod that gives the Bioware NPCS to talk some more(I'm sure almost everyone feels this way).  It's nice to get to know the people that strive to help your cause and makes finishing the game that much harder to do(not that I would know... ^_^).

Sometimes, I'd rather get a weak character that still had a great story and a lovable personality than a war machine.  Besides, there's always a way to win in the end(but not cheating... ;) ).

That's my 3 cents.  ^__^

#400155 Couple of Questions

Posted by Paloesha on 14 June 2008 - 10:56 AM in Edwin Romance

I guess what I mean is, can I use that Shadowkeeper thing to fix whatever happened(if something did happen)?

EDIT:  The romance is still active(it's at variable 1) and the LT is at number 27.  Some variables are at weird numbers.  Like EDWINWANTSTOBEFEMININE is at 754605 and a couple others are at weird numbers.

Could I just change the LT number?

The wizard dude hasn't shown up either, the hair talk hasn't happened, and I'm sure that's cause the 'feminine business' one hasn't started yet.

#399909 Couple of Questions

Posted by Paloesha on 13 June 2008 - 07:22 AM in Edwin Romance

While I was at the Keep, Edwina did start a conversation. It was about what kind of guy the PC was into and all. I reloaded after that to try the convo again, and it didn't start up. It's been quite a while since she has said anything, but I can still start conversations with her(even if they are only 'you look odd' conversations).

Also, can Edwin(a) die at any time, or would that stop the romance?

Thank you!

#398906 Reputation Question

Posted by Paloesha on 09 June 2008 - 08:27 AM in Baldur's Gate Series

Right now I have Edwin in my party, because I'm trying out the Edwin Romance mod.  But evil characters won't stay in the party after the rep hits over 18.  I was fine for a while, but I had to raise my reputation quickly by use of the temple donations to avoid one of Jaheria's Harper friends from attacking.

Right now, I'm at 16.  I don't know about killing commoners(since that always causes a riot for me).  I don't want to keep Viconia for this play-through, and I'm trying to avoid evil paths in quests(so I can keep everyone in my party).

Is there any easy way to lower reputation without going overboard?

#397301 We need to Rest so I can Talk to You...

How do you go through a game and hardly rest? I rest like after every battle! Now I'm a little jealous... :(

#397009 Problems Installing

Oh ok. Well maybe later. Thanks! ^_^

#396923 Problems Installing

Posted by Paloesha on 30 May 2008 - 07:26 AM in Hubelpot

No, do I need that too?

#396921 What is your most common Bioware party?

Posted by Paloesha on 30 May 2008 - 07:23 AM in Baldur's Gate Series

Every time I start a new game, I say I'll change. Yet I always end up taking the same kind of group.

Me
Jaheria
Minsc
Yoshimo(turn to Imoen)
Aerie
(Random NPC for whatever quest)

I don't know why, I just feel like Jaheria and Minsc should be there, even if Jaheria gets on my nerves occasionally. I can't seem to drop Aerie. And Yoshimo should be there for Spellhold.

#396820 Problems Installing

Posted by Paloesha on 29 May 2008 - 09:35 PM in Hubelpot

Whenever I try to install Hubelpot mod, it uninstalls itselfs, then asks me if I want to install the mod again, and it repeats.

It says something about it can't verify trigger ~!Dead("Hubelpot").

It also says it can't find the resource FATESP.DLG in KEY file [./chitin.key]

#396323 Questions before installing

So I do need Throne of Bhaal?  Ok,  I might try this later then.  Thanks!

#396309 Questions before installing

This mod looks really interesting.  Before I downloaded it I wanted to ask some questions.

Can you download it and still be able to play it in the middle of a game you already started?  Right now, I'm still in Chapter 2.

Do you need Throne of Bhaal to play this?

#395964 What is this?

Posted by Paloesha on 25 May 2008 - 12:10 PM in IEP Extended Banters

Ok I'm pretty sure I did what you said.  It worked thanks!  ^_^  (Doing the same for Chloe and BTL)

#395938 Real faces and voices of BG2 - UPDATE

Posted by Paloesha on 25 May 2008 - 10:16 AM in Baldur's Gate Series

Aerie's voice actress sounds like the girl twin on the Rugrats. I'm gonna check that out.

#395936 A Series of Queries

Posted by Paloesha on 25 May 2008 - 10:13 AM in Baldur's Gate Series

How come if you decide to play as a half-orc, you still look like a regular human on the screen? And you sound like one too!

Also, Cernd(and other characters) supposedly have long hair. Yet on that screen, their hair is very short. Also, Minsc is supposedly bald, yet he has short white hair in every other picture in the game.

In Imoen's portrait, she is wearing a light pink shirt or something like that. But when you go into her inventory, you can see she is wearing black. (I suppose you could change it.... I'm just saying. ^_^ )

#395933 What is this?

Posted by Paloesha on 25 May 2008 - 09:59 AM in IEP Extended Banters

Whenever I try to install this mod, the screen comes up and says it can't find DIALOG.TLK.  It also tells me to run this program in my Infinity Engine game directory(which I don't know what that means).  This has also happened when I tried to download Chloe and BTL.

#395844 Could you have picked a better time for dialogue?

Posted by Paloesha on 24 May 2008 - 04:39 PM in Baldur's Gate Series

These are so funny.

In my party, Aerie has the worst timing, although I give her ups for trying to lighten the mood... in an Aerie-like way.

One time, we were at the Druid Grove, doing the first Trademeet quest. Jaheria had challenged Faldorn in that stadium thing. Me and the other 4 were standing around the pit, wathcing Jaheria get creamed. Suddenly Aerie decides that now is a great time to talk about how sad life is... without wings.

She also did the same thing right in front of the Shadow Dragon(Umar Hills quest). I guess she saw the dragon's huge wings and it made her homesick... or... something.

#395836 Bioware NPCs I won't play again

Posted by Paloesha on 24 May 2008 - 04:11 PM in Baldur's Gate Series

I always picked Aerie when I was younger, as I always liked her and felt bad for her. Her romance was also really easy for me to do without needing help. Now I play her, and I can see why everyone complains about her. I don't blame people for hating on her so much, but I still like her.

Imoen just seems to be one of those characters that a lot of people like. Or at least she is one of those that can grow on you in time(at least that seems to be the general consensus). She's probably one of the only characters in BG that have a sunny outlook on life, so she easily stuck out in almost any group. It's interesting to see how she handles BG2. I just wished they would let Imoen smile in her portrait! Oh well...

#395826 Can't find him

Posted by Paloesha on 24 May 2008 - 03:48 PM in Nathaniel

I can't find a Setup-Nathaniel file,  but I see 3 files called Nathaniel_v4_2 , Nathaniel-v4-2 and a readme file.  These were found in My Documents.  Also, where is the SOA folder, is it on one of the CDs?(sorry for being so stupid with this)

EDIT:

Nevermind, I found the SOA folder.  The WeiDU thing is in there as well.  I only see coding stuff for Tashia.  I also see the Setup_Nathaniel.exe you were talking about.  I'll do what you said and see what I come up with.

EDIT...again!:

It worked! Thank you!  ^_^

Is there any thing else I need to download for Nathaniel?  I saw something in the coding that said I didn't have Solufein(however you spell that) or Latimer.  It just skipped over.  I'm guessing I'm ok though right?

#395771 Can't find him

Posted by Paloesha on 24 May 2008 - 09:26 AM in Nathaniel

Yea, the Bioware patch.

I opened the downloaded file with this WinRAR program.  I clicked on the application, it asked if I wanted to install the Nathaniel mod for Baldur's Gate 2.  After that, it asked for a destination folder.  Then, every file got extracted. Afterwards, it said 'Complete'.

I don't know how to check my WeiDU log file.

Maybe I need to uninstall it, if I hadn't already (although I thought I did.)

#395695 The best BG NPC poll!

Posted by Paloesha on 23 May 2008 - 06:57 PM in Baldur's Gate Series

I voted Imoen.  I just liked her so much in the first one.  And in the second I was so dissapointed to have her leave.

I just like her whole personality, although it rarely came out(i'm sure the modders helped bring it out though ^_^).  She seems like a bubbly, loving-life kinda girl.  It's tragic(and kinda cool) that she was also a Bhaalspawn.

Close seconds were Jaheria and Minsc(they are practically linked to the thought of BG), Viconia(who gave a diff. twist on the evil types) and Skie(who I never knew, or can't remember, but sounds like an interesting character.)

#395680 Can't find him

Posted by Paloesha on 23 May 2008 - 04:28 PM in Nathaniel

I did download the mod before the  patch, but I thought I deleted the mod before I installed the patch.  Is there a certain way to uninstall it?  Also, I did extract the files from the Nat mod.

I looked for him in a save file I had before the mod and patch.  I looked in the NE part of the Docks, near the top of the screen.  Isn't that where he's supposed to be?
