I just started to have CTD's when I try to sleep. I can't even play the game now because of it because I can't rest. I checked earlier saved games and it was also happening at least from the time I was in the cave under the castle on Bone Hill. I have checked all of the logs and there isn't anything showing for the crashes. I know it isn't a problem with the game since I have a save from far earlier in Chapter 2 and I can rest fine if I load that saved game.

I found another bug that is really annoying.  I have found two blank items (no icon and no name) in the castle on Bone Hill.  The biggest problem with this is that they can't be removed from your inventory and prevent you from picking up more stuff.  I have to save and reload to get rid of it and be able to pick up things again.

I have a thief script that has the thief scearch for traps all of the time but the character won't participate in combat without manually having the character attack.  Is there a script that has the character search for traps all of the time except when combat starts and they will attack either spellcasters or the nearest enemy in that order?

In the left room in the temple most of the containers have traps on them. the problem is that they are impossible to detect. The thief I'm using for traps has 180 in find traps and I even cheated it up to 250 and I still couldn't detect the traps.

This has been happening since Beregost and always happens in certain buildings.  The first time it happened I was able to get free once when I was stuck upstairs by using another character but when my character gets stuck on the stairs like in the above picture it is impossible to get unstuck without using ctrl-j.  (atleast until I can get teleport or dimensional door which will be a long time)

These are just the latest occurrences and happen everywhere. Below is a picture of what happens when I go down some stairs and get stuck. (I automatically moved there a little after my character came down stairs) There really isn't anything to show when I get stuck upstairs since it just won't happen when my character gets to the stairs. (I click on the stairs like I usually do and my character goes to the stairs but won't go on them and then I can't move my character.

My main character just got stuck again (on stairs) in the left 2 houses (across the bridge) in the town you go to first in "The Secret of Bonehill" and I don't have Haiass with me. (I got rid of him awhile ago because he was useless and just kept getting killed)

Nevermind, after I went to another area after finishing the quest everything started working normally again.

I just recently used the console for the first time (to start a quest that wouldn't start) and now every time I open a container or the console it disappears after a few seconds. I tried quitting the game and rerunning it but it still happens.

PS. It is going to be impossible to loot chests with how this is.

I just did the above quest and if I tell him about the guy in his house I get the promised reward (part dropped on the ground) but the candle doesn't get removed.  If I don't tell him about the guy I get 800 exp instead of the reward and the candle is taken.  It looks like this quest is partially bugged.

My character and Haiass are getting stuck in the doorways, stairs and on the edges of newely entered areas. (only Haiass for the edge of the area and on stairs) When I get stuck in the door way the only way the character that gets stuck can move is back into the building. When it is on the stairs and at the edge of a newly entered area Haiass won't even move at all. Since it was impossible to move Haiass out of the edge of a newly entered area I did some checking and found out about ctrl-j and have started using that to get them unstuck.

PS.I'm using a standard BWP install and Kivan does have that function except for (so far) in that specific area.

My character and Haiass have started getting stuck when entering a new screen. This started in Nashkel getting stuck on some stairs after going upstairs and has happened coming out of tents at the Carnival and coming out of the caves at the Gnoll Stronghold. It just now happened with Haiass when I entered the area north of the Gnoll Stronghold where he is stuck at the edge of the screen. I noticed that when I got stuck in the entrance to one of the caves that I wasn't initially stuck when going out but then I was moved into the entrance a little after exiting and then was stuck. I was able to get unstuck before by going in and out of the building with one or more characters and would eventually get unstuck.

PS. When I was at the Gnoll Stronghold and was removing Kivan to put Dynaheir in my party I didn't have the options when talking to Kivan after removing him to send him to the Jovial Juggler or Friendly Arms Inn like I usually do. I ended up moving him with Near Infinity so that I wouldn't have to go drop someone off and come back for him. (I would never remember where he is otherwise)

If you are on Windows Vista or 7 you shouldn't use the Big World Setup.vbs to run the setup (it causes problems) and instead you should run Autoit3.exe in the Big World Setup folder and select the BiG World Setup.au3 when prompted.

PS. From what I understand Tobex works like Obse and alters the game in memory so it doesn't do any permanent changes to the bgmain.exe.

Shadowkeeper doesn't have the ability (that I know of) to use mod added kits. What you need to do is download near infinity and add the kit to your character with that. To edit a save game to add a kit you go down the list to "Save" then select your save game. then click on baldur.gam and in the upper right hand corner is your character (in the lower right hand corner is the npcs) which you select and click edit. next go to the edit tab at the top and scroll down to the bottom and double-click on the last line. Scroll down till you find the line that says kit and click on where it says what kit you have and select the one you want.


PS. Just to let you know I have noticed that not all kits show up for npcs (incase you want to add a kit to an npc) but there is still a way to add a kit that doesn't show up to an npc. In the save game your editing go to the character you created and go to where you select the kits and find the kit you want for the npc. Right-click on the line after selecting the kit and select view as hex. Then copy and paste the numbers from there to the same place in the npc you want to add the kit to.

Yeah I could do that but for everything I open that happens (except book shelves) and even if I have removed everyone from sight and am in stealth mode so no one should see me to call the guards. I even tested by giving me 150 points in all of the thieving skills and it still happened. There is obviously a mod that is causing this because I don't think this happened last time I played this far when I was using bgtutu.

I have another problem where no matter what I do I can't steal in Nashkel without the guards being called. I have tried being in sneak mode without anyone on screen and I have tried charming the people and the guards still get called. I even charmed everyone and moved them into another room where they were offscreen and then entered sneak mode successfully and still when I opened a chest or something the guards would be called. I didn't have any problems anywhere else I have been and so far it has happened only in Nashkel.

How it was in original Baldur's Gate is that the smith in Beregost would only buy the shells once at 500gp a piece so I guess a mod changed that to only buying 1 once at 375gp.

PS. I forgot who the option said and thought it was the smith in Beregost.

I selected the infinite option on selling Ankheg Shells but now when I decided to go sell them the guy only bought 1 for 375 gold and won't buy any others. I have 18 on me in my Bag of Holding currently.

PS. I just tried again and put all of them in my inventory and this time he took all of them but still only gave me 375 gold.

Actually I waited way longer then a minute and she just stands there and won't talk to me. I have left and did a few areas and came back and it is the same. I wanted to finish her quest but didn't want her in my party since I replaced her with Viconia.

I have been playing the game and didn't use any tactical mods and am using a standard install plus NEJ. I just got to the area north of Nashkel and ran into a group of Kobolds that annihilated my party and I'm playing on easy. They came with 2 mages that cast chaos, entangle, and greater malison on my entire party before I could get to them and also hold on a couple of my characters. Pretty much I couldn't do anything except watch my characters die. I'm glad when I reloaded the spawn was different so I didn't have to go through that again but that shouldn't be happening to someone that didn't use any tactical mods and is playing on easy.

I found another bug with Finch with removing her from my party. The first part is that smetimes she doesn't get fully removed from my party but that is easy to fix. (It only happened once and I fixed it with ctrl - q) The second problem is if I remove her from the party I can't talk to her anymore. (Finch- Has nothing to say to you) This is the only npc that this has happened to without pissing them off.

PS. Is there anything I can edit in my save game to make Finch talk to me again?

EDIT: I forgot to mention that I tested to see if anything changes by leaving the area and after multiple tries the same thing happens.

I think the confusion with my post was because I use the latest beta version of Big World Setup which after installation of the program automatically starts the setup with Autoit3.exe. I recommend using the latest beta with Windows Vista and Windows 7 because of this; since using the vbs setup to start the install causes Windows to lock files which will happen even if you have disabled UAC. This can cause severe problems with reading and writing procedures in the install especially when overwriting or patching files.

PS. I found out about the problems with the vbs setup because I tried using that method to redo the installation of BWP after finding out I missed some mods I wanted. I was never able to complete a successful install because of Windows locking files. After doing some searching through the files installed (and after finding out it still worked by reinstalling BWS) I found autoit3.exe and found out that is the method used when installing BWS.
