#400926 zaalbar is awesome!!! but how do i make him best?

Posted by Klorox on 18 June 2008 - 01:52 PM in KotOR Series

I'd suggest the +5 DEX Implant, the +2 DEX Belt, and boosting STR every chance.

I use Zaalbar also:

Scoundrel 7/Guardian (concentrates on Demolitions and Persuasion)
Zaalbar (Computers and Repair, I use Flurry and Two Weapon Fighting also)
Jolee (his stunning enemies works well with my character's sneak attacks)

#408559 Your PC! Please share.

Posted by Klorox on 30 July 2008 - 05:39 AM in Baldur's Gate Series

Name: Narra
Race: Elf (Avariel)
Class: Monk (I love Shadowkeeper)

Alignment: Depending on whether or not the taint is active it ranges from Lawful Good to Chaotic Neutral.

The sprite is still human though, right? Is ther eany way to get an elf monk avatar? A dwarf (I played a dwarf monk when 3e first came out)?

As Choo said, you can switch to any paperdoll you like a the appearance tab. I used the elf-thief one.

But would you still kick and punch like a monk, or would you make barehanded attacks that just don't look right (just like an IWDII Monk)?

#399097 Wizard or Sorcerer?

Posted by Klorox on 10 June 2008 - 04:02 AM in Baldur's Gate Series

Sorcerers. You never need more than 4 or 5 spells per level anyway. Why not have all the spells you need, and be able to cast them all the time?

Sorcerers just rock the casbah.

I'd like to see soundsets appropriate for Gnomes and Halflings. They're difficult to find.

#426718 Will spell effects still be active if NO changes classes?

Posted by Klorox on 23 November 2008 - 04:37 PM in Planescape: Torment

What bug would that be?

#424634 Will spell effects still be active if NO changes classes?

Posted by Klorox on 06 November 2008 - 01:44 PM in Planescape: Torment

For instance, let's say you have NO as a Mage. You cast a spell like Armor or Friends. You then talk to Dak'kon and become a Fighter. Will these spells still be in effect, or are they canceled out because NO is no longer a Mage?

#391348 Wild Mage in BG: EasyTutu?

Posted by Klorox on 04 May 2008 - 04:34 PM in Baldur's Gate Series

Just remember, it's only available in Tutu (or EasyTutu) if you have ToB installed.

#379692 Wild Mage Experiences

Posted by Klorox on 03 March 2008 - 05:09 AM in Baldur's Gate Series

I'm running a Wild Jester in one of my games, and let-me-tell-ya those surges have mostly saved my ass.

There was one fight, I can't remember which, where I knew the caster was going to whoop our butts, and the surge turned him to stone! Woo-hoo! talk about a change in the tide of the battle.

My comments from another board:

- An enemy gated in a demon! No one had Prot.f.Evil so we ran away, all the time with some enemies following us, until it disappeared.
- The final spell in a very big battle, a NPC caused a flock of birds to rotate around the screen for several rounds (they counted as monsters so couldn't save during this time. Kind of scary considering that BG can sometime crash on you).
- Wild Jester caused Imoen to change gender! Thankfully only lasted for a short time (or after reload, forgot which).

Please detail to me how you made a wild jester! I played a wild gnome jester once in a p&p game and had a blast. I'd love to try to reproduce that character... TIA!!!!

#385670 Wild Mage dual classed into a Cleric

Posted by Klorox on 09 April 2008 - 11:14 AM in Baldur's Gate Series

Would this character get wild surges when they cast Cleric spells?

This dual-class is allowed with the G3 Tweakpack.

#385721 Wild Mage dual classed into a Cleric

Posted by Klorox on 09 April 2008 - 02:41 PM in Baldur's Gate Series

That's really cool.

I always thought a Tutu Mage 2 dualled into a Cleric would rock. You don't lose too many hit points and can use Wands with plate mail.

Now it's even better! :D

#386974 Who's a better tank/healer?

Posted by Klorox on 15 April 2008 - 04:04 AM in Baldur's Gate Series

I'm planning a very small group. It's going to be a Dwarf F/T (I played him through BGI so his stats are abnormally high), along with Kelsey (I love that mod) and either Anomen or Jaheira as my healer and tank (along with the protagonist, obviously).

Which is a better fit? Which is a better character and why?

TIA

#395076 Which Jedi class is most powerful?

Posted by Klorox on 21 May 2008 - 03:56 AM in KotOR Series

(And yes, I've been saying the same thing about the Force Jump feat and Sentinel vs. Guardian in at least two or three of these threads now. ;))

Do you need me to tell you that you're right?

#394981 Which Jedi class is most powerful?

Posted by Klorox on 20 May 2008 - 04:50 PM in KotOR Series

I admit it: I like powergaming. I am really of the belief that even powergaming has personal influences, so one person's "most powerful" might not match up with someone else's.

After messing around with all of the beginning classes, I personally am dead-set on Scout as being the most powerful, with the perfect places to stop level-upping being 4 or 8. You get a great Saves, BAB, and bonus abilities at these points, without much more by going a level more, but a lot to lose by stopping a level too soon. I like that the class has some cool skills as well, which help even with an 8 INT (but 10 works the best IMHO).

I can't decide on the Jedi class though. I like both the Guardian and the Sentinel. The Guardian's "Jedi Jump" or whatever isn't all that great though, which is what really sets it apart from the Sentinel IMHO. The Sentinel is good also. BTW, I want to be pretty good in melee, so the Consular isn't the best choice for me.

What do you guys think? What's "perfect" for you?

#399886 When do I have enough "persuasion"?

Posted by Klorox on 13 June 2008 - 05:34 AM in KotOR Series

In kotor1, how high is a high enough persuasion to get all the dialogue options?

i am trying to distribute skills in an efficient way.

tia

#399944 When do I have enough "persuasion"?

Posted by Klorox on 13 June 2008 - 10:29 AM in KotOR Series

I have the first force persuade power right now, and a 12 in persuasion.  My CHA is 14, but as a guardian i dont know if i should bother continuing to increase it.

#372950 What's your ultimate, completely legal, power party (BGII)?

Posted by Klorox on 22 January 2008 - 07:24 AM in Baldur's Gate Series

I just finished ToB with an ass-kickin' party:

Berserker 13 > Mage protagonist (GM in Axes and Hammers, dual wielding)
Anomen (GM Flails, dual wielding)
Sarevok (GM in Greatswords and Halberds)
Imoen

It was overpowered when I un-nerfed the grandmastery, so I uninstalled that component.

since it was only 3 characters, I had maxed out my XP for Imoen, Anomen, and protagonist in Watcher's Keep.

#392052 What's your perfect party size?

Posted by Klorox on 07 May 2008 - 07:07 AM in Baldur's Gate Series

I'm trying to figure out what a perfect party size is for most people.

Personally, I like 4 party members, because I don't have to control too many people, and I feel like I can equip everybody a bit better, without giving them too much XP. I've also noticed that I can hit the XP cap of ToB with a 4 person party (I never reach it with a full 6). 4 is a good balance of a little extra power, without giving up on banter and romances.

What do the rest of y'all prefer? Why?

#407909 What's your party?

Posted by Klorox on 28 July 2008 - 09:41 AM in Icewind Dale Series

I completed IWD 1 on HoF from the beginning.  It was very tough at the beginning, but after the pass, I thought the game actually got a lot easier.

Here's the party I had:

Human Paladin
Half Elf Cleric/Ranger
Elf Fighter/Mage/Thief
Half Elf Bard
Half Elf Fighter/Druid
Gnome Fighter/Illusionist

Multiclasses make this game a lot easier.  You do NOT need a single-classed wizard.  I had high level spell slots left empty, even for my F/M/T because I could not find scrolls fast enough.

#406696 What's the closest character to a Jedi I can play?

Posted by Klorox on 21 July 2008 - 11:34 AM in Baldur's Gate Series

I've been seriously into Star Wars, even more than usual for a while now. I'd like to play a character that resembles a Jedi in BGII.

What's my best shot?

The closest I can think of off-hand is an elf F/M with the avatar changed to look like a mage.

#406785 What's the closest character to a Jedi I can play?

Posted by Klorox on 22 July 2008 - 03:57 AM in Baldur's Gate Series

<_<

Obviously the only choice is a gnome illusionist.

"These are not the turnips you're looking for..."

I may have to try that mod if I ever play BG again.

Thank you for starting my day off like this. :D :D :D

#372949 What's the Anomen romance like?

Posted by Klorox on 22 January 2008 - 07:21 AM in Baldur's Gate Series

I just finished ToB while romancing Anomen yesterday.

The romance was "eh", but I liked the character development side.

#423998 What's NO's best weapon (assuming he's a Fighter)?

Posted by Klorox on 01 November 2008 - 10:38 AM in Planescape: Torment

If you're building NO up as a Fighter, what weapon proficiencies benefit him most?

I'm just finished with the Modron Cube thing, and had completed all of Clerk's Ward in my current game, and the best weapon I had found was a Mace that improved regeneration.

Are Axes better, or what about Fists?

I don't plan on abandoning my current game, but I think a Fighter best suits my playing styles. I often have NO enter melee even as a Mage in my games. I kinda want to do a power run after I'm done and plan on going mostly-Fighter (switching to Thief and Mage only for the class-specific parts).
