#415217 Your Top3 Most Awaited Games - 2008

Posted by Kellen on 28 August 2008 - 06:57 AM in General Gameplay

NWN2:SoZ
Diablo 3
Dragonage
TFU(The Force Unleashed. Yes it's 4, but I really am wanting to play all 4)

(Fable 2 also looked somewhat interesting, but iirc it's only for the 360)

#420946 Your PC's name?

Posted by Kellen on 06 October 2008 - 07:37 PM in KotOR Series

My male is Veran, my female Raven. My Star Wars male is always Veran.

Currently I'm playing Vincent Metzen, Human Necromancer. (also have a sorcerer and a Half-Elven Sorcerer version of him, as I tried to figure out what worked best for him.)

Inspiration for him came from Diablo 2 Manual. Though that's what he will become, not what he yet is.

For every secret left unveiled, for every power learned,
I'd sell the remnants of my soul, regardless how it burned.
And still I sought a higher wisdom few could have attained.
'Though I found it, it would leave me - broken, damned and drained.

For now I find this power gained is more unto a curse.
My spirit burns with ever spell and each irrevent verse.
Despite this strength and knowledge earned, I have paid a heavy toll,
Never should've traded power for my own immortal soul.

I. Play. The. Only. Halfling. D:

Actually assembling together a Halfling(male) Cleric of Milil or Sheela Peryroyl as well(and maybe a female halfling bard). But unsure if (s)he's going in BG/2 or NWN2. And a dwarven(male or female) rogue(of Vergadain) or cleric(of Marthammor Duin).

EDIT: And Sammi mentioned a Halfling.

Actual game-wise, my "canon" PC is Nathaniel (no relation to the mod npc or the recurring character in At Soul's Edge), a cleric of Shaundakul (and the only cleric in this thread, barring Kellen). He fell rather hard for Aerie.

Well I can count on one hand the number of my pc's aren't Sorcerer or clerics in the BG series. 1 a mage, 2 druids. (I think I may have tried a monk and a bard for about 1/3 of the game(cumulatively).

(And shoulda mentioned, both halfling and dwarf have the possibility of actually going through NWN2 instead. Still considering.)

Hmm... Wait, wasn't there a time in BG1 where you had to give up one point? Or was it just in BG2 and I've got my facts mixed up?

If so, then... lol, talk about being delusional.

//Sebastian

I'm thinking you're combining Bg1&2.

3 tomes in BG1, one lost in dream, one Stat increase from hell trials=3.  ^_^

#414662 Your first game.

Posted by Kellen on 25 August 2008 - 11:17 AM in General Gameplay

Aye, back in the days of the Atari and records and black and white tv. (Or for me, at my uncle's, since he seems to perpetually live in that time.)

Thanks, Jarno for the link.

#415723 Your first game.

Legend of Zelda Ocrina of Time was my first rpg type game.

This thread continues to bring back memories.

#414578 Your first game.

Unfortunately I don't remember, Mario, Kirby, Kaboom are certainly a few near the beginning.

#426032 Your first game.

Heh. I remember that one. Way back when.

#415616 Your 5 favourite games.

Posted by Kellen on 30 August 2008 - 06:19 AM in General Gameplay

Secret of Mana

Spoiler

Dreamfall: The Longest Journey (The longest Journey is awesome too)

I started Dreamfall, when my uncle rented it. Unfortunately I never got too far.

Some suggestions from me.

Sacred is a pretty enjoyable, Diablo-esque game. NWN series can be enjoyable, though most take a mod over the OC(for the first for sure). IWD. Warcraft 3. C&C Series (Highlights, C&C2 C&C3(Kane's Wrath) RA2). Dark Colony(fun game, but for the Windows 95)

1st Person Shooters
Tom Clancy games make pretty excellent 1st person shooters(Splinter Cell series getting the high nomination from me). SW:Battlefront and Halo. C&C Renegade. SW: Bounty Hunter (I believe it can be first person or third person. Maybe just third person)

Console
PoP series(Though Warrior Within is a bit graphic.) Shadow of the Colossus(excellent and very moving game, though it does get kind of monotonous in between big points). Demonstone. Star Ocean: Til the End of Time. Legend of Legaia (Always hold a piece of my heart)

That's pretty much all my current/recent gaming efforts, or one's that I've really enjoyed.

#421977 Who's your favourite drow?

Posted by Kellen on 15 October 2008 - 02:15 PM in Baldur's Gate Series

Matron Mother Ardulace?

Yasraena (Okay, I've never actually played her)

Zhai (Half, and wrong game)

Jarlaxle (Cheeky, bald, powerful, funny hat...)

Out of those, I don't really like any, but I'll put Viconia as my favorite for a well done character who dug a gut reaction out of me that was deeper than several other NPCs.

#422082 Who's your favourite drow?

Posted by Kellen on 16 October 2008 - 01:24 PM in Baldur's Gate Series

I liked Solaufein; I remember how it made me smile when I realised the acronym even before he showed his un-drowishness.

Maybe I'm just tired, but... what acronym?

#426026 Who would YOU like to see as an NPC?

Posted by Kellen on 17 November 2008 - 07:00 PM in Baldur's Gate Series

Surayah (Anomen's sister)

Erm, do you mean Moira. Surayah is the poor girl he slaughters. ;)

#426567 Who would YOU like to see as an NPC?

Posted by Kellen on 22 November 2008 - 03:03 PM in Baldur's Gate Series

I'd rather not see him as the spurned and spiteful though. Ano's got that covered. And Pally's get enough flak without an ex- working them over. If he could see both the good and bad sides of it, that would be intriguing.

#443638 Where is Irenicus?Help....

Posted by Kellen on 14 April 2009 - 08:48 AM in Redemption

In this version of Redemption you don't meet Irenicus until the very end, right at the Throne of Bhaal.

If you're looking for the one that let's you have Irenicus for the entire expansion, see The Longer Road.

#418510 When your ranger grows tentacles (ScreenShots)

Posted by Kellen on 16 September 2008 - 08:27 PM in NWN Series

No Domi/Ashara are one and the same with the M lass who put together the Bishop romance. ;)

#417468 What's Missing in NWN2?

Posted by Kellen on 09 September 2008 - 02:37 PM in NWN Series

Thanks K'ae.

#429054 What was the last game you bought?

Posted by Kellen on 08 December 2008 - 10:06 AM in General Gameplay

I recently made a purchase of Storm of Zehir, Starcraft Battlechest and Warcraft 2 Battle.net Edition.

#426568 What was the last game you bought?

Posted by Kellen on 22 November 2008 - 03:09 PM in General Gameplay

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed for PS2 a few days(2? 3?) back. :( sums it up pretty well. Though from what my uncle told me when he played through his(x-Box 360), they sound almost like different games, where his is good, and mine shouldn't be allowed to exist.

WotLK at the same time.

Also, how on earth did I miss that Storm of Zehir was out?!?! *Goes to check various stores*

EDIT: Heh. It appears Walmart doesn't have it.

#426644 What was the last game you bought?

Posted by Kellen on 23 November 2008 - 06:24 AM in General Gameplay

We'd been keeping a spare laptop for those 95/98 games. But it died on us. No more Dark Colony, Warcraft 1, Red Alert 1, etc. Well actually I can play the last one. Relatively. First Decade makes it easier. And to an extent one can try 95/98 games on a higher machine. It might explode, but you can try... ;)

Ergh. Might have to buy Storm of Zehir now, but looks like Walmart doesn't have it. Oh well. Might grab it off Amazon. A few dollars cheeper.

#427870 What was the last game you bought?

Posted by Kellen on 01 December 2008 - 09:21 AM in General Gameplay

The thing I was looking forward to the most was the Doomguide. I'll probably wait for the price to drop while I go through the BG series again(like I've been planning for probably a year), and finishing up my most recent W3 run-through. (Also, I have this problem. I like completion. I'd buy the next even if I thought it looked bad, if the price wasn't bad.)

#427071 What have they done to KotOR?!

Posted by Kellen on 26 November 2008 - 07:32 AM in General Gameplay

The game itself my well be good. What concerns me more is the players.

Lola Fett: I R Mandalorian. U all suk!
Darth N00bius: No u suk! Force pwrs pwn!
Booshacca: Raaaarrr! Rrroarrrr! Grrrr!
Lola Fett: LOL RPer!
Darth N00bius: Lets PK him.

(You get the picture).

And this is why I tend to hate MMOs. I've try to give them a chance, but people inevitably end up ruining a lot of the experience. GW helped to get past that in that when leaving town you were left alone(unless grouping) but too many MMOs seem to be based around a group idea, even if in lore that doesn't make sense. (How many jedi ran around with bounty hunters and scoundrels and soldiers anyways? Master and apprentice... and a whole plethora of other people? (This is of course not counting the Clone Wars. That was War. On just about anything less, they worked alone.)

#438004 What games are you looking forward to, 2009 edition?

Posted by Kellen on 14 February 2009 - 02:26 PM in General Gameplay

Diablo 3.

DoW 2, TBH, both look good, and there's probably others I'm forgetting. And technically, no guarantee Diablo is out this year.

EDIT: Starcraft 2

#438084 What games are you looking forward to, 2009 edition?

possibly even NWN2 if it doesn't throw a wobbly at dual processors

I have a dual-core and it works fine.

#440797 [MOD] Bard Song Switching (Icewind Mode) V4.1

Posted by Kellen on 16 March 2009 - 07:48 AM in BG:EE Modding

I've been waiting on this mod since I played IWD. Don't worry BG. I'm coming!

(Any chance you'll be bringing in some of the other classes cool stuff, ala Ranger Tracking?)
