Yes, sadly, it is as you say, but there are so many creatures invented that no one can really remember if some were given too little time or attention. Thats just how it works. Btw dost ye have da book nearby? If so, care to post what is written about the great Astral Dracos?

Hehe. I asked because I supposed that for astral creatures does not apply the "normal rules". :D

Well, they're astral creatures only because they live on the Astral Plane. No creatures initially came from there though.

Here's a quick summary of what it says about astral dragons:

It's said that they have ties to Krynn, so maybe that's where they came from intitially.

"These immortal creatures are just short of demi-powers on a scale measuring might." Impressive. They're only about 5' long until they mate, when they grow to 50' long (not including their tail?). Mated pairs are joined by a 100' long chain which keeps them together. This might be a blessing from a neutral power, and they certainly don't mind it.

They live in huge palaces of black crystal once they've mated. Until then they wander the Astral and other Planes. Their power actually reforms the astral plane around their palaces, changing the color and physical laws of the area.

Once mated they rarely leave their palaces, and almost never leave the astral plane. They send out tiny kodragons when they want something.

Nah, it took a lot of time. I am, after all, a powerful archmage, but still overconfident...

nope, theirs still the slight chance that a spell w/ instant death effects can pass through their magic resistance and saving throws, and they wont cast death ward in time. very little, but i'm spoiled by crpg reloads.

Of course if you kill one the other can kill you and then raise the dead one. I mean, D100 damage is kinda scary.

It would take a demi-power or a god/goddess to be sure that the dragons could lose at all :gun: .

Or something else that's close to being a demi-power, like a Solar.

I don't know about that. A well worded Wish and the Solar could win. Especially if the wish makes his arrows go through the dragons' resists.

What are the origins of celestials (deva, planetar, solar) ? Are they formed from souls of good people, perhaps ?

Off the top of my head, yes. Maybe that isn't true of all of them, but that's how it usually works with planar creatures. Yugoloths are an example of an exception though.

Some celestials have existed since the beginning of Time and some are brought to existence by the Overpowers such as Lord Ao.

Yeah, there are probably a lot of exceptions.

Hmm... this is quite a delicate subject, but I try to put it clearly: Celestials were originally the only "type", but as some celestials became evil, the fallen "type" was created, so to speak. And yes, there are some solars who are very powerful, have existed since the Beginning of Time, and are not dependant on any power, but these are rare indeed.

Edit: Of course, there are some differencies between celestials who serve different powers and dwell on different planes of existence.

There are many types of celestials. Aasmion, Archons, Asuras, Eladrins, Guardinals, and others. Most of them are created from good petitioners, some can reproduce.

There is nothing offical that suggests they were ever all one type or that they have existed since the begining of time (unless they drastically changed the nature of them in some 3E reference I have not read), but you are of course free to asume that they have and did in your own material.

Celestials do occasionally fall, they are usually striped of their powers (if they are of a type that is created by the powers) and exiled or destroyed, if they are considered irredeemable. Baalzebul, lord of the Seventh is a fallen archon who is now a Baatezu Lord.
