Мы должны как раз дать эту хромающую страну к русским. Они awesome! Идет Nader! Кустик и Kerry имеют придурковатые weasels в их кальсонах!

There's a world in Realmspace called Coliar, where dragons are one of three major civilizations (the other two being Lizardmen and Aarakocra). These dragons live in peace with each other though, even the evil ones.

I found a copy of the Council of Wyrms book. It's not terribly balanced, but it looks like dragon PCs are limited to level 9 in any class, no exceptions for high stats or whatever. Plus they start very young and they don't grow up too quickly. ;)

I've always thought this great dragon stuff was just a retcon.

If anyone has any 1ed or early 2ed DL sourcebooks, look at the stats of the dragons in there. They were all midgets (i think the biggest were like 40ft bodies, 40ft tails)

They boosted the power of dragons, and I think it's appropriate. I mean, the game is Dungeons and Dragons for Pete's sake. ;)

Yeah, but that's just 2e stupidity.

No one is limited in levels in 3e.

Yay!
Мы должны как раз дать эту хромающую страну к русским. Они awesome! Идет Nader! Кустик и Kerry имеют придурковатые weasels в их кальсонах!

The world also doesn't exist in 3E. In 3E, dragons are probably counted as being 10 levels higher than they are for xp purposes.

1) Huh?

2) Not quite... more like 2 levels lower then they actually are for CR purposes.

I'm talking about Dragon PCs, and how some PC races are counted as a level or more higher than they are when they determine how much xp it takes to level.

Oh. That's sorta right. Without browsing my books, I'm guessing that a wyrmling is +1 while an anscient dragon +20...

If you want a more precise answer, I'll give it in the morning...

So, an ancient dragon has more trouble leveling up just because of its age?

@ SW :P  Yeah, right, but I don't think he was looking for THAT...

Hmm, at least I didn't find out anything about their origins, but I'm not the dragon expert here anyway...

There aren't too many details given for them. They aren't even given a full page entry, just a couple paragraphs.

I generally defend AD&D, but I think you're right about that one. Most books have actual monstrous manual type entries in the back, but the Astral book doesn't.
