Both are correct.

d1 is the bucklers, while d2 is the small shields. d3 would be medium, d4 large.

:)

Wonderful, Erephine!

Now both bucklers and small shields are covered!

Thank you very much!

I placed both archives in override, and now bucklers and small shields look the same

(shorty has a small shield, human - a buckler)

I guess 1pp.v3.d2.shield.legacy somehow affects bucklers also. Even without d1.shield.legacy in override shields look the same.

It does not - the problem is that Baldurs Gate II had the same animations for both bucklers and small shields, so most BG II items are set to use the small shield animation instead of the buckler one, even if they're bucklers. You'll see it shows up as a small shield on your paperdoll as well.

It shall be fixed when I alter the items :)

You can :) it's fairly easy

Open the following files:

SHLD08.ITM
SHLD09.ITM
SHLD10.ITM
SHLD17.ITM
SHLD20.ITM

Click 'Edit'

There should be a field called 'Inventory Icon', that's set to D2. Change it to D1, and save.

Aand, that should be it. I think TuTu should work as it is, because everything was set up properly in BG I.

edit: .. Icewind Dale should also work fine, I'm not sure if you have to set them for Icewind Dale II.

This looks absolutely fantastic, great job Erephine! :new_thumbs:

Since I introduce a bunch of round bucklers in Rogue Rebalancing, I'll include a special ACTION_IF block in my tp2 which will detect 1PP v3 (once it gets released) and give back the bucklers their proper animations in that case (they currently use D2).

Cheers!

^ that's not even necessary. :)

You can set them to D1 for all installs, since Baldur's Gate II does have D1 animations (they just happen to be copies of the D2 files). Several mods use properly set bucklers as it is.

IIRC, in the unmodded game there are some minor glitches with the D1 paperdoll. For example, you get the Large Shield picture if you equip such a buckler on a fighter type character.

True. You could fix that, but I guess it's more trouble than it's worth.

I forgot, because I haven't seen the original paperdoll artwork in... four years? :P

This has been implemented in RR v3.91, but since a WeiDU version of the Legacy Shields component hasn't been released yet, the code has to be activated manually for now. If anyone's interested, I've provided the instructions for doing that in this post.

Oops, I must have missed that.

In any case, the RR code will work with either version as it merely patches my custom bucklers to use the D1 animation if the mark file is found. :)

Updating the full-install package - hey, i noticed something. You have incorporated those "shield fixes' things into your work, right? I have some older files not listed in your install order post, and want to make sure they are obsolete.

(adding and editing in the docs, too).

Edit: you got mail.

Beautiful.
Where men gather, a bustle of chaos ensues. I would save them all, if I could.
