#259792 I wish there was a vampire kit

Posted by Minarvia on 01 August 2006 - 11:49 AM in IE Mod Ideas

SHS Mirror of TDD

TDD is available right here from the SHS Download Centre.  There is a FAQ etc in the forum under Completed Mods (TDDsinTDD).

Thank you, Rabain.    (Sigh) I don't know what I was thinking when I was looking into it awhile ago.  The word "kits" besides spells and items somehow escaped me.  I thought that I needed the original entire mod, I guess, but it looks like I don't.  Thanks again.

#260279 Dekkie's attacking me!

Posted by Minarvia on 04 August 2006 - 07:25 AM in Edwin Romance

So I went to fight the lich and his three cronnies. I got really pissed because they kept killing my pc so I ctrl-y everyone. I trapped Banco (sp?) inside the thingy when Dekkie starts saying how much of a mistake I made. What the hell happened? He attacked first mind you.

I had this happen once to me, too. But I had cast a cloud kill in that part of the room he materialized in and since he caught some of it he behaved as if I had attacked HIM. I had to reload and avoid that spell (or any other similar spell). I think I used CK and AHW once very early on and it had dissapated before Dekkie arrived. Did you use an area spell?

Seifer is the one who remade that mod as Weidu.

He and other have stated (on threads I am too lazy to find) that TDD is not required to use the "Forgotten Children" mod.

So ignore that header in the readme that makes it sound like it only works with TDD.

Thanks so much, MTS.   Yes, the line in the readme did indeed make it sound that way.  I'll try it out this weekend.  Yipee!   :D

It does indeed work!  Yipee!  I like it so far.  But a couple of weird things have happened but that could be due to my whole crapload of mods.  But it is fun so far anyway.

#260619 HELP! Where the heck is he?

Posted by Minarvia on 06 August 2006 - 10:54 AM in Edwin Romance

Heh heh.  In regards to my first question, I figured out that in order to make Eddie appear, you have to actually DO the quests that Mae'Var gives you.

I always just go straight up to the second floor, use a knock spell on the drawer with the evidence inside, and then report to Renal. Sorry for this little brain fart. I guess that's why no one replied...

I also had one game where I declined having Eddie join me and he went to the Copper Coronet. I picked him up later and the romance began.  I had just wanted to see if it would work and it did.  He immediately gave me the first LT "Well, Charname, Mae'Var is now wormfood..." So it is possible to kill Mae'Var without Eddie in the party at the time.  You just HAVE to follow thru and kill Mae'Var and ER does a deadcheck and the romance will follow.  At least it does for me.  :)

Posted by Minarvia on 09 August 2006 - 03:54 PM in Chloe

I've been playing Chloe for the first time, and I actually really like her. She is pretty unique, really. I think you did a great job with her, especially since BG2 modding was relatively new when she was made.

As for your thoughts, I do think they are great ideas. It's nice to know that you have been thinking about these things. As for being busy, that is perfectly understandable. Everybody has a life away from the computer that is demanding of attention and time. But if you ever did have the time/motivation to finish Chloe or pursue other mod ideas, I would certainly be interested. Good luck with whatever comes your way. :)

I agree totally. I really enjoyed Chloe and am very sorry that her story was never finished. I had hoped the Chloe/pc romance would be finished someday, but, oh well. Things happen. Your life definately comes first. If you ever do more work I'll also be here to enjoy it. Good luck! :)

#261804 Concerning Nether Scroll convo..

Posted by Minarvia on 18 August 2006 - 10:52 PM in Edwin Romance

The dreaded Nether Scroll question... With a stylish flare!

Anyhow.. After retrieving the Nether Scroll, I know many a-person has said that Eddie will refuse to speak for a period of time. If anyone really paid attention, how long did you have to sit around and wait for him to use that darn scroll?

Real time or game time, either one works.. I've sat around for 3 days game and who knows how long real time.

Hehe, I'm much too impatient. I'm eternally grateful to those who created ER. ^^ Hugs to you.

I've never had problem with this.  Perhaps 30 minutes or so real time, as I tend to adventure a bit.  But you do have to rest several times (I rest at an Inn, preferably) several times in a row and then "it" happens.
Good luck!   :)

Not liking to fail and always trying to please I have made another stab at the portrait.

I used your portrait above as a reference for the look. I can add tattoo's if thats what you really want!

Ooohhh, this is nice! :)

#263201 Doubt about flirts

Posted by Minarvia on 03 September 2006 - 03:36 PM in Edwin Romance

Thx a lot for the mod! is really awesome

I have installed the flirts pack and my romance with Edwin is lovely   but i have a doubt about two flirts

FLIRTS SPOILS FLIRTS SPOILS

We already reach home base and i tried to give him a long kiss and a slow hug but i always get the " you decide that you and Edwin need some  privacy ...." I wonder ... do i have to go to a special area? an inn or something? or the flirt is working fine? sorry for my english it isnt my first language.

Again thx a lot for the romance, i started to play bg2 again just for it!

No, all you have to do is have you and Eddie walk away from the rest of the party.  When you are far enough away the flirt will continue.  Enjoy!

#263428 Lich and Co.

Posted by Minarvia on 06 September 2006 - 02:09 PM in Edwin Romance

Reloading is cheating, huh? Okay, it's a simple fact that if the Bhaalspawn pc dies in BG2, he or she turns into a pile of dust on the ground. I doubt there's a single person out there who hasn't reloaded at some point in the game.
To get the Thayan nights to target your fighters, you move your fighters to the front as soon as you warp into the room. 9 times out of 10, your fighters are targeted. I wanted to summon a bunch of monsters and stuff too, but that's really hard to do when the entire room is filled with that death fog. If Edwin is dying because of the litch, it's because he doesn't have enough spell protections on. I had the following protections on Eddie: stoneskin, mirror image, vocalize, fireshield blue and red, improved invisibility, resist fear, speed, spell deflection, protection from magical weapons, and minor spell turning. I decided if the enemy mages could cast improved invisibility and avoid being targeted by spells, so could we! The only time I had to worry about Eddie dying was if his spell protections began to wear off. I had him memorize some extra spell protections, so he was able to re-cast those when we got to that point. Nalia had similar protections, although since she wasn't quite as advanced as Eddie, she had to have lower-level protections. She still had improved invisibility cast though, so she was just about as safe as Edwin. BTW, it also helps to cast a couple fire balls at the enemies in the very beginning of the fight. Not all of them are completely protected from fire. I found that one of the knights was particularly vulnerable to melf's minute meteors, as well.

About the reloading - I totally agree with that. I've often thought the very same thing when people get on others for their occassional reload. I can't believe anyone NEVER has their pc die.

I like these battle ideas. I usually just begin with immediately having Anomen (or Viconia) and Eddie cast Skeleton Warriors right next to the closest mage and they become the first targets. I then pick and choose my strategies from there. I tell you, I am SO glad that my skeletons are the targets of the Time Stop and Horrid Wilting and my party is not hurt so badly. I then have time to pause and plan each step of the way.

#263695 Lich and Co.

Posted by Minarvia on 09 September 2006 - 04:38 PM in Edwin Romance

er, um, I have not installed this mod, because, well, i like good parties. Just could never get past that my NPCs are happy when I get caught being a theif and killing people I don't need to...

But, almost every place I have ever been you can get away by leaving the zone. If you are in Athkatla, leave the zone, buff up however you need, and go right back to fight the battle on your terms. If you know your entrances and exits, you can probably set it up so you also get to use the "fringe" effect to only see one new enemy at a time (that can be done only work on Waukeen's promenade and the docks).

You're right about the zone, but in this case you are trapped in one room and there is nowhere to escape to to buff up or use the fringe effect. :) That's what makes this battle so challenging.

#264775 Progress??

Posted by Minarvia on 25 September 2006 - 12:45 PM in Brythe

Is this still going then?

I really hope so. I think that the modders are quite busy, and I understand that. It just is hard to see such really cool projects and wait and wait and get no news and wonder if they will die like so many others have. I believe, tho, since it is SConrad that it will be fine, but that it will just take more time. I hope he will pop in and give us a bit of news or a preview or something to tide us over!

#265575 No Fate Spirit Summinong?

Posted by Minarvia on 05 October 2006 - 05:51 PM in Edwin Romance

I know for a fact that a few times I did a TOB only game just for playtesting of mods and I was able to summon Eddie to my side.  Lately, however, after I have done a clean install and reinstall, and left out a bunch of mods I am not currently playing, I can no longer summon him.  I have definately installed the TOB because I re-ran it and since it did not give me the option to install, only to reinstall or uninstall, I'm sure Eddie should be available to me.  Any ideas on why he isn't?

Do you have Improved Fate Spirit Summoning (a feature of the BG2 Tweak Pack) installed? If you do, you will olly be able to summon NPCs you 'have met in your travels', and for a TOB only game, that's not good - <ou haven't met anyone yet. Uninstall it and see if you can summon Eddie now.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the reply! I don't recall installing that, but I'll check my log. Thanks!

#265960 No Fate Spirit Summinong?

Posted by Minarvia on 09 October 2006 - 08:36 PM in Edwin Romance

As I remember, you can't summon 'My love, Edwin the Mage' or whatever - only 'Edwin'. But I haven't played in ages, so I'm probably wrong... :)

Drat it, I don't have the Tweaks installed. Sigh. I know for certain I've summoned "my lover, Edwin" in the past. He comes to you and says something about longing for his erotic onslaught, etc.
I really don't know why I suddenly can't get him with my new install. But thanks for trying, everyone. If there are any more thoughts, tho, please go ahead and post. I haven't given up hope!

#266530 hmmm... romanceable?

Posted by Minarvia on 15 October 2006 - 03:05 PM in Brythe

Brythe will be a hard character to romance, I think; due to various events in his past which will be hard to get past.

I personally can't wait to see more of Brythe - and I hope Shfelliot turns up sooner rather than later! :)

No kidding. I like this guy and I've been checking here all the time hoping to see some progress. :)

#266625 Going to Brynlaw with Edwina (and a weird time to cook dinner)

Posted by Minarvia on 16 October 2006 - 11:05 AM in Edwin Romance

I was wondering whether the romance will still continue if you go to Brynlaw just after Edwin's accident with the nether scroll? I got the lovetalk about "the business of being a woman" before going, and went through Spellhold and the underdark with Edwina. Now on chapter 6, I wonder if the romance is still active or have I somehow broken it by going to Chapter 6 without completing Edwin's quest and the romance?? So far, there's not been any sign of Degardan, but admittedly I have not given him very much time yet, maybe a few game days.

Also, there was a rather funny thing happening with the flirt where Edwin promises to cook you dinner. I got the promise to cook just before he turned into Edwina. I am fairly sure we rested in an inn before going to the Underdark and nothing happened there. Then, many nights later, Edwin decided to torch out the kitchen staff of the drow Inn of Ust Natha. :P Not the most obviously romantic setting of all, not to mention the thing about us supposing to be undercover and not attracting attention...

But anyway, thank you once again for the most enjoyable mod and especially the flirts!   Eddie is my favourite!

I nearly always go the Brynlaw after the Nether Scroll and it works just fine.  I did one game where I went there after he was back to normal so I could have the lovely Lust Chambers flirts.  They are great if you haven't seen them!  But usually I do as you are doing.  I usually wait until after Degarden's first appearance, or until he is about to appear and then take off for Spellhold. He will probably appear for you in your game.  He will take about 30 or 40 minutes after the "business of being female" dialog.  Oh, and if you didn't know, Degarden can appear on Brynlaw for his first appearance.  Good luck!

#266719 No Fate Spirit Summinong?

Posted by Minarvia on 17 October 2006 - 09:41 AM in Edwin Romance

I wish I could be more help, but I really don't know what's causing this. I know that you should be able to summon 'my lover Edwin', I did write the lines for that and it should be implemented.

Thank you for trying. I think I'll just try a re-install of the TOB portion and see it that will do it. Maybe something just hiccupped somewhere.

#268117 When to go to spellhold/underdark?

Posted by Minarvia on 31 October 2006 - 12:06 AM in Edwin Romance

Arghhh! I want to go to Spellhold and Eddie refuses to leave Athkatla. This is the same problem a previous poster had. I have the new version and this is the first time I wanted to leave before Eddie became himself again. We only had the kiss, we're nowhere near the letter phase yet. I'm playing with Beyond the Law and this is the perfect time for Spellhold...but, alas. I'll guess I'll have to kill some time or leave my game on pause a lot.
Just thought someone would want to know.

#268508 Progress??

Posted by Minarvia on 03 November 2006 - 08:17 PM in Brythe

Hello! Just posting this to confirm there is still life over here. :) I'm almost finished up writing my first draft of the join dialogues, as well as several conversations, a couple of NPC banters, and first drafts on romancing conversations. :D

Thank goodness! I'm glad things are still going. I really really really want this mod to stay alive. :)

#269599 Houri Mod

Posted by Minarvia on 12 November 2006 - 01:51 PM in IE Mod Ideas

Hee hee! :D I LOVE the sound of this! I think she will be one of my fave "rough" types right up there with Willie Bruce. I can't wait! I really really hope this mod will not be too long in the making, tho I understand quality takes time. Forums are looking slower these days and I would hate to see a promising project not have much of an audience left when it comes out.
Those spell names crack me up.

#271970 Upgraded flirts?

Posted by Minarvia on 28 November 2006 - 11:43 PM in Edwin Romance

Very sorry if I'm being impatient.. but I had to ask.

Are there going to be future versions of the flirt pack that add content?

The more flirting, the better, as far as I'm concerned.

I agree! I think that Laufey once said that she would be adding more, especially some Edwina specific ones. We haven't heard from her lately, tho, have we?
And a few differnt responses would be welcome if she has the time.

#273928 hmmm... romanceable?

Posted by Minarvia on 12 December 2006 - 08:22 AM in Brythe

I personally think that a romance with Brythe would be awesome, cuz there's not too much choice for a romance with a female PC. He would be the most intriguing character to try and have a romance with.

Well, there is Edwin, Tsujatha, Kelsey, Solaufein, Kivan and Xan. If you haven't tried them you may want to. They can keep you busy for the time being!
