As a side note, I cannot register at Black Wyrm's Lair, for I never receive a validation email, not even in the spam folders at the ISP. So I cannot aske this question there or search for similar issues. I browsed through a dozen or so pages of topics as a guest and didn't see anything relating to this.

Don't bother the BWL people if you use the BGT-NeJ version in a megamod. If you use BGT-NeJ in a megamod, then is this forum the correct forum for your questions. BWL only supports the stand alone version of NeJ.

#476114 Wrong dialogue of Imoen in Irenicus' Dungeon

We have a problem, if we want to start a BG2 game with BGT.

1.) We import a predefined character and start the SoA game
Imoen has not the correct dialogues at the beginning and the dialogues changes from installation to installation. Attached are screenshots from a sample of the wrong dialogues, but their are in German. The dialogues of the screenshots are from the beginning of BG1, when you want to leave Candlekeep and Imoen steps by.

2.) We create an own character and start the SoA game
The game crashes after the incorrect Imoen dialogue.

We haven't had this problem with the release of BWP v8.2.
After many tests Leonardo found out, that both above mentioned things happend if BGT is installed with CtB-Chores together.

He thinks that this happened since the Dudley Fixes are included in BGT. Perhaps this has something to do with it:

AR0602: Imoen, Jaheira, Minsc, and item importation as well as new game changes, Imoen->Imoen2 death variable change, setting of biography for newly generated characters starting in Shadows of Amn, initial HP and CON bonus/penalty corrections for new characters and imported characters with zero experience, forced level up for new characters.

We don't know, if that can cause the problem in combination with the CtB-Chores.

By the way, we had the problem before the new CtB release, so the new CtB version is not causing the problem.

Lollorian, I think you have an installed BWP. Can you start a BG2-SoA game and could test this (with an imported and created character)? It is better if someone can confirm, that this happen not only by us. ;)

I tried an imported Cleric and a new one and I got Imoen's BGII lines :) (after a 10 min cutscene involving Worgas, CtB-Chores and RoT :doh: not to mention the unskippable movies :D)

Maybe its a translation thing??

Thank you very much :cheers: and yes, it could be, that something is wrong with the German translation/version. But who knows? :D I'll let Leonardo know your test result. ;)


PS: In the next BWP, could you modify baldur.ini so that all the BGI and BGII movies have already played (so that, if they play in game, we could skip them by clicking :P even the first time they play ;))

We cannot do that with the BWP batch-tools, but it could be possible with the BWS. It would be nice if you can post your suggestion in Dabus BWS thread at the MegaModHelp forum.

The Stone of Askavar (TSoA) is defect

What do i do? Just ignore it?

The "BiG World Setup" is updated and use the new version, now.

I want thank the continued efforts of the community to keep mods alive & kickin'. Ascension is many a-player's never-leave-home-w/o-it mod.

It's also very encouraging to see new brains working on mods. We need more Dexters in the community. Hope to see a lot more coming from jon-eli and others.

Lastly...I'm sure we all agree, any changes/updates/fixes etc. to any mod should also be linked-back to the mod's original website -- e.g. in this case, to the thread that's being maintained to track updates to the mod. It's easy to forget such a practice, and I understand why this topic was brought up--once again--and in this forum only. Still, let's remember that mod authors/caretakers want to know how to keep their efforts current.

You're completly right. In every forum I see the recommendations to install Ascension before BG2 Fixpack, but not in the Ascension forum directly. I've done it here, now.

May be.. it would be good to correct Ascension and bg2Fixpck install order in big world.pdf

This information is for BG2 Fixpack and Weimer's Ascension and is still correct. But we don't use this scenario anymore, since the new BPv179d is released. Now, we use BP-Ascension and therefore things have changed and this results to the shown installation order of the BWP. ;)

From the readme:

Included with vecna is the lvl 50 patch which extends the game to lv 50 and includes the grand mastery patch.

Which lvl-50 patch you are using? The one from TDD, BP or BG2Tweaks or an own improved one?

Which grand mastery patch you are using? The one from BG2 Tweaks is incompatible with TDD. Did you have considered or improved it?

What happens if one of the patches is already be installed through another mod? Does Vecnas versions patch them or will they be skipped or do you overwrite them? Have you tested it for these cases with the BWP?

No need to remove it. Like Jarno said, do an optional component for it, so the gamer can choose to install it or not. Would be great if you can do an optional component for the grand mastery patch, too.

You mentioned your mod Vecna is compatible with the BWP v8 and at the moment it exist your notice that Vecna must be installed after the Teleport Spell. What is your recommendation in the install order for Vecna? What do you think is the best place for it, when you have released v14?

And am I right, that your mod will fit perfectly into the BWP Tactic-version?

With "The Vault" I've a misspelled dialogue with the ghost of Ulcaster.
If I talk with him more then once (that must be do), he said the following:
"What it is with these mines? You cleared it of those little dogs weeks ago and now we've got a spider infestation!"
I think I should get this dialogue from someone in Nashkell...

Leonardo told me, that the bug is only caused if RoT is installed. It depends on the file mgo4a2.bam from the RoTerror\anim\Abishai folder.

Don't suppose Leonardo has Avast or some other memory-resident software running?

Leonardo want to say sorry for the false error warning. You're right and Leonardo has the problems only if he has running an AntiVir program. If he disable it, the installation went fine.

A stupid question... I stole a treasure key from Duke Belt but can't find what it is supposed to open...

Looking at the game data, I realised that I missed quite a load of item. As I red somewhere on this forum some of the mod items has been remove, I'd like to know if I could find these or if they just don't exist.

O.K., I see, that the number in the PDF is missing, which shows the default component:

#452382 The Dreaded Bugs Thread...

Don't know if you'd call this a bug per se, but I changed the load order of some mods and now Fade is called "...." no matter what save game I load.

I loaded the save just before Mallon and he has no name either. Funny thing is his dialogue is all fine, and so is Fade's after you rescue her; they just have no name.

We don't call it a bug, because you did something, what is not good for your stability of your game. If you do a reinstall, then mostly your save games are not working with the new build anymore and therefore such things happens like you have. It is always better to play further with your game and accept the differences or reinstall your game and mods and start a new game.

Everything worked fine after I deleded the data-folder and restored the original one. I also suggested to include the folder into the backup to prevent incidents like this one. Anyway, thanks for your help, Hoppy! :)

O.K. this issue happens with the backup restoration of the BWS. So the BWS is the culprit.

We found out, that BG2 Fixpack and BGT copies files into different BG2 mod folders (not only the override folder), so that the pinned topics with an easy BG2 restoration is not working with that mods. The information is outdated. We'll work on a correct working BWS backup, at the moment.

Please don't discuss this in the TDD thread. If you have any comments, use the BWP thread.

It looks like a directory error that the LUBA0.2DA cannot be found in such folder.

That is correct. The - must be changed with the + in the SETUP-BardSong_BG2_IWD.tp2:
