#374704 BGIII

Posted by Klorox on 01 February 2008 - 11:24 AM in Baldur's Gate Series

If a BGIII were ever made, I think it'd be really cool if you joined up with Gorion (or played him) and the final mission were to save the Bhaalspawn from a temple of Bhaal where s/he is to be sacrificed.

It's called "Baldur's Gate," not "Tales of the Bhaalspawn" :)

I don't understand your point. BGII never goes near the city of Baldur's Gate.

#396508 Least Favorite BG2 NPC!

Posted by Klorox on 28 May 2008 - 04:49 AM in Baldur's Gate Series

Nalia.  I hate limosine liberals in real life, and it's no different in this game.

If I had a second vote it would be for Viconia.  she's just so overrated.

#401319 What is your most common Bioware party?

Posted by Klorox on 20 June 2008 - 01:29 PM in Baldur's Gate Series

Jan
Jaheira
Aerie

I usually play a Fighter/Mage type. I find a 4 person party both more powerful than a 6 member party, and, most importantly, easier to control.

Anything with Aerie, Jaheira and Jan. One of my most fun parties is with those 3 and an Elf Fighter/Mage/Thief. I absolutely love multiclassed characters!

Smaller (4 person) parties work better for me as well.

#390114 The best BGII NPC poll!

Posted by Klorox on 30 April 2008 - 04:52 AM in Baldur's Gate Series

Can't believe there's so little love for poor ol' Haer'Dalis! Most excellent NPC evar!

Seriously though, I really do like H'D (my nickname for him). He's got some fun banters, was well thought-out (IMO), and is just a well put together guy. Sure, he's not too powerful, but that's fine.

My runner-ups are: Korgan (I love the vulgarity :D), Anomen (against my better judgment, I gave him a try, and realized he wasn't that bad a guy), and Minsc (who just makes the game awesome).

-Arguskos

PS. This is my first "real" post here, so I should probably say hi... so... HI!!

Hi!!

Funny, I actually hear quite often that H'D is one of the more powerful NPCs. I've never actually used him for an extended time. I should give him a try.

...and I thank you.

Nobody likes Keldorn or Cernd? :(

I love Keldorn power-wise, but I think he's kinda boring.

Cernd doesn't help me in power or dialogue,.

I voted for Jan, both for personality and power.

#385592 Are you still playing Icewind Dale series?

Posted by Klorox on 09 April 2008 - 05:15 AM in Icewind Dale Series

I just finished playing HoF mode from the very beginning. It was fun, but got tedious at points.

I'll play again in the future now that there is an NPC project out there.

#419159 First time with Kotor

Don't start with higher than an 8 INT. It's a waste.

#419248 First time with Kotor

Not all of us are epic powergamers Klorox!

Icen

Cal Jones asked for advice. I gave it.

The fact that an 8 INT and a 13 INT provide exactly the same amount of skill points for a Soldier/Guardian is pretty damn good advice IMHO.

Posted by Klorox on 30 July 2008 - 07:58 AM in Baldur's Gate Series

As Choo said, you can switch to any paperdoll you like a the appearance tab. I used the elf-thief one.

But would you still kick and punch like a monk, or would you make barehanded attacks that just don't look right (just like an IWDII Monk)?

#408559 Your PC! Please share.

Posted by Klorox on 30 July 2008 - 05:39 AM in Baldur's Gate Series

Name: Narra
Race: Elf (Avariel)
Class: Monk (I love Shadowkeeper)

Alignment: Depending on whether or not the taint is active it ranges from Lawful Good to Chaotic Neutral.

The sprite is still human though, right? Is ther eany way to get an elf monk avatar? A dwarf (I played a dwarf monk when 3e first came out)?

Gnick O'Thyme!

CG Gnome Fighter/Illusionist

I voted Coran. While I'm not a big fan of elves, I do love those Fighter/Thieves, and he's the best there is.

Thanks guys. Vilkacis, I absolutely love your avatar! :D

#407877 If BG3 was made...

Posted by Klorox on 28 July 2008 - 07:36 AM in Baldur's Gate Series

What? "<Charname> Does the Heartlands?"

The PC's name must be Debbie, then. I tried to meet her in Dallas but couldn't find her.

Lot's of other people found her!

I'd completely forgotten about the Portentous Men wearing Cowls of Doom and having Floppy Wrists of Death from the end of SoA. Does anyone know who the hell they were? Was one of them Mellisan pre-op?

I think they were the working concept of the antagonists from ToB. Anyway, I'd love to see a remake of every IE game in GemRB. It'd be awesome. That way, every single bug could be fixed and every mod worked in during the development process. ;)

That's exactly what I thought as well.

I think a prequel might be a neat idea, but no matter what it'll never be as good as the original. It's like making the Star Wars prequels. Better off to just let BG RIP.

#387547 How is the Kelsey romance?

Posted by Klorox on 18 April 2008 - 01:15 PM in IE Modding Discussion

Well, when I played with Kelsey for the first time, I liked him. But when I tried to play with with for the second time, in the middle of SoA I rather deleted all the saves with and uninstalled the mod. The ever-present Ano-bashing was too much even for me. So I would recommend you to play with him just ONE time and then quickly uninstall him.

LOL, well I want a Sorcerer darnit (but not as my protagonist)!!

Happy Birthday, jcompton!

Where can I find details of Taisha? I haven't been able to just view her stats or readme without actually installing the mod.

#387467 How is the Kelsey romance?

Posted by Klorox on 18 April 2008 - 04:30 AM in IE Modding Discussion

I've never done it before, and I'm thinking I might just give it a try.

I'm playing (at least planning on) a small group again:

Elf F/M/T protagonist
Jaheira (SK'ed into a C/R)
Kelsey

If the Kelsey romance stinks, I'll just play the Jaheira one again. LMK.

#408094 It's not about good and evil

Posted by Klorox on 29 July 2008 - 03:51 AM in Baldur's Gate Series

I should just say, I mostly use evil, as in the scale to rate killers(1-22)

LOL. My Wife loves that show.

I don't want to delve into philisophical debates over good vs. evil in real world terms. In D&D, things are a lot more black and white than in the real world.

If I'm actually roleplaying, it's easy to distinguish what's good and what's evil. If I'm just playing a video game, it's about getting as well prepared (or as powerful as possible) to tackle the challenges ahead.

#382147 Screenshots

Posted by Klorox on 21 March 2008 - 05:43 AM in Classic Adventures

Wow, this stuff is incredible. I'll probably be giving it a shot after I finish my IWD run (I've been playing a HoF since the beginning game).

#408557 A Series of Queries: BG1 Version

The guards are carrying quarterstaves because the metal is crumbling.  People still sell the stuff because they can. :)

#388867 Is this a sound solo strategy?

Posted by Klorox on 24 April 2008 - 04:19 AM in Baldur's Gate Series

Do actually Dwarves get higher saves? I at least know that Wisdom bonuses to mind-affecting spells aren't implemented...

Definitely.  It's based on CON score (every 4.5 points of CON gives a +1 to saves vs. Spells and Poison).  Halflings have the same bonus and Gnomes have only the magic save bonus.
