Otho's nephew Tearlac quest (DSotSC)

Hi,

I've been playing at least the latest DSotSC quest, for the search of Otho's nephew Tearlac.

I have a question about this quest.
Is it necessary to join to the party Faerthgil Trollsslayer to end the quest of Otho's nephew?

In my case, to end the quest Faerthgil must be in the party when talking to Otho if we want close the quest because he has the Taerlac's Hammer. There is no option to end the quest with a party without Faerthgil because he doesn't give to the player the hammer in the case that we don't want him to join.

It is as is or there is any possibility to change this?

Also, is there any ending for DSotSC like the intro ending this latest quest?

Since this addresses my problem I will post it here :)

Ahem, I told the nephew he can go to hell and forgot to use ctrl+y to get the hammer :D. Is there something I can do about it now?, or could you give me the item code for his hammer so I can end the quest?. Thanks.

I know this may seem like an easy solution, but why not have him join for long enough to get the warhammer from him, then boot him out? I'm not going to change the content of the mod because of this. The original author intent is for Ferthgil to join the party. That's why he is a joinable NPC.

DSHAMM01 should be the CULA code for it.

RE: the "Well that's how it's supposed to be..." That's horse####. That's not 'intended', because that's horrible quest design. So because I don't want to ditch one of my custom-tweaked characters so pick up a crappy dwarf fighter with the most horrible voice acting ever, I will never get to finish the quest.

On the contrary, Ferthgil has some of the best voice acting ever. Just have a listen to his 'city' soundclip:
