Another small addition for aTweaks v3. Basically, I've adapted this into a PnP version suitable for Mages.

Scribe Scrolls

In summary, at 9th level all Mages (except Sorcerers) will now receive the Scribe Scrolls ability. This ability can be used at will, as long as the environment is non-hostile (i.e. there are no enemies nearby). Note that a Mage can only scribe scrolls from spells that he has actually memorized and that the material costs still need to be covered. Esentially, this allows Mages in your party to trade spells between their spellbooks. 8)

Damn, at the speed you're announcing/releasing your mods I'll have to do another megamod-install in the next few weeks :D

Will you only be able to scribe vanilla game scrolls, or will it take released mods, which added spells (TDD, DSotSC etc), into account?

Moreover, will this enable you to scribe HLA-spells?

For now, only the vanilla spells are covered. I might add mod related spells in some future release though.

Moreover, will this enable you to scribe HLA-spells?

Nope, HLA spells are off limits.

Really nice, I guess it is compatible with SR ;)

Generally, yes.

However, spells that have different names in SR (i.e. Infravision -> True Strike) will have their old names listed in the Scribe Scrolls selection menu. Still, you will get the proper scroll after the scribing process is done (i.e. in the aforementioned case you'd get a scroll of True Strike).

I don't seem to be able to scribe scrolls.

I don't seem to be able to scribe scrolls.

Are you unable to to obtain the "Scribe Scrolls" special ability, or do you not get any dialogue when you use it, or do no spells show up in the list of options or what?
Are you having this problem with mages in general or with specific mages?

I'll have a look as soon as I have a moment.

No need to hurry, it has worked before, but not after I installed this said component after. To answer your question: I don't see the ability anywhere ~ ie I'm not able to obtain it.

Cheers

As far as I can see that Spell Revisions component only affects divine spell casters and it shouldn't keep you from gaining the ability even if there was some problem with it and aTweaks.

Are you sure you have party AI enabled? Does starting a new game make any difference?

You try holding your mouse cursor over your mage and using this console command:
CLUAConsole:SetGlobal("rr#mscrl","LOCALS",0)

If that doesn't work and you know how to get change-logs, can you get change-logs of dplayer2.bcs and dplayer3.bcs?

Oh, that's all right. Besides, I much prefer it when problems like this have an easy solution.

Demi's SR mod has moved two level 3 spells to level 5: Protection from Fire, Protection from Cold. I just glanced at RR#SCRL.D, so I may have misread - for those spells, will the scribe scrolls function still assign and charge for level 3, regardless of Demi's tweaking?

EDIT:
And looks like it will miss his Dimension Door, too?

Things will mostly be vanilla. I.e. Protection from Fire/Cold will be treated as level 3 spells and there will be no option of scribing Dimension Door. I'll eventually get around to updating the component to account for mods.

Dual-classed Imoen (Swashbuckler->Mage) regained her Swashbuckler abilities and oddly enough another use of scribe scrolls. It's probably an engine bug, but it's still a bit weird.

Can you reproduce this if you start a new game?

Yes, it's reproducable. CLUAed a human swashbuckler to 160K XP, dualclassed to mage, and then CLUAed first to 160K XP to trigger scribe scrolls, and finally to 375K XP, to regain the class abilities.

I can't reproduce this on either plain BG2 (starting in ToB) or BGT. Unless new evidence surfaces I'm inclined to agree that it's some sort of engine fluke.

In my game Imoen, dual-classed Thief (level 2) -> Mage, gained another use of scribe scrolls after the transition from BG1 to BG2 (on BGT).
The same happened to Nalia whe she rejoined the party after being abducted by Isaea Roenall. Hope it helps...

Scribe scrolls doesn't offer to scribe Remove Magic (SPWI302), a vanilla game spell.
