It's Mass Effect 3.

According to multiple sources, BioWare is going to reveal their next big AAA game on December 11th during this year's SpikeTV Video Game Awards. I'm guessing it's Mass Effect 3 - yeah, I do think it's just that easy.

Damn...You really think ME3 could come out in 2011? I figured it was 2012 for sure albeit early 2012...

Well DA2 is due what, next year? Wouldn't be much of a surprise if they can work this fast (though if they can indeed, damned if I'm not impressed. ).

Then again there's just as easily an equal chance that they're doing something completely out of the blue, so, eh. Guaranteed a lot of fanfare come cinema time, groupie rage possibly too if the latest trend is anything to go by.

The style looks quite different from Mass Effect.
Unless they're doing a DA2 style visual overhaul, I don't think it's ME3.
And IIRC, some older Bioware comments implied they were kinda happy with the ME2 graphics, and weren't planning anything major.

So, I'm thinking we'll still need to wait for the continuation of the ME storyline.

Christmas 2011 is a bit under two years. It's a little less than it took to get ME2 out after the first, but depending on how much they change things and how much they've prepared for it while making 2, it certainly isn't impossible.

I'm not going to get excited over this until there's something a little more interesting than a picture of a grey man with a grey gun in a grey landscape. I'll certainly enjoy the drama it's going to cause, though. Yummy, delicious drama.

And I'm still saying it's Mass Effect 3. To make sure I've got a second choice though, I'm adding "Mass Effect ACTION-Action Spinoff" to the list.

If you like theorizing, read this. Because they think a Russian source has confirmed ME3, although it seems like they're just guessing from the trailer.
