From the RPGWatch forums - three PC version screenshots. The resolutions are 3000x984, 3580x1000, and 1600x900. The Northern Coast looks very interesting.

System requirements announced.

Minimum specification:
2GHz dual-core CPU
2GB RAM
DirectX 9c video card with 512MB RAM
Windows XP/7/Vista (32 or 64 bit)
Internet Connection for activation (Steamworks)

Recommended PC specification:
Quad-core Intel/AMD CPU
4GB RAM
DirectX 9 video card with 1GB RAM - Nvidia GTX 260/AMD Radeon 4890 or better
Windows XP/7
6GB hard disk space
DirectX compatible soundcard

Recommended is enough for High, no clear word on what is needed for Ultra.

6GB of disk space... looks like we'll again need Qarl's texture pack to play on non-ugly. On the flip side, my 2007-era PC still meets minimum spec (and I could play it off a ramdisk on my new machine ^^ ).

Italian users: help test the Stivan NPC!

Author or Co-Author: WeiDU - Widescreen - Generalized Biffing - Refinements - TB#Tweaks - IWD2Tweaks - TB#Characters - Traify Tool - Some mods that I won't mention in public
Maintainer: Semi-Multi Clerics - Nalia Mod - Nvidia Fix
Code dumps: Detect custom secondary types - Stutter Investigator

If possible, send diffs, translations and other contributions using Git.

Looks like I'll be able to run it on minimum, but not recommended. Bleh. Oh well.

Interesting. That changes things for me somewhat, but I'll have to make do. At least I'll be able to play it at medium, with some settings on high. Time to crank up anisotropic filtering.

  • RAM: Passed Minimum (3GB)
  • CPU: Passed Minimum (Dual Core @ 2.65 GHz)
  • GPU: Passed Minimum (GeForce 250 GTS @ 801/1992/1125 MHz)
  • GPU RAM: Passed Recommended (1GB)

Nice to know that I meet or exceed all of the recommended bits, except that I'm still saddled with Vista. <_< Curse Vista, and my laziness. Still, can't wait to see how it looks and runs.

Hey, I'm still running XP Pro SP3. :P

I wish I could afford to upgrade my rig and OS, but unfornately it's not possible at the moment.

I meet some of the recommended settings as well, so I should be able to play on medium, at least? What I know about computers could fit in a teacup.

Bethesda's comment on only 6 gigs of space required - decide for yourselves if you want to believe this:

We’ve seen plenty of comments relating to the game only requiring six gigs of HDD space. Don’t worry… there’s still a ton of game in there. The total HDD space relates more to the compression opitmizations we’re able to do with The Creation Engine. Not only are do we think you’ll be impressed with how the game looks, but also how much faster it runs.

Pre-order the four-disc Skyrim soundtrack @Bethblog

Is it wrong that I seized the opportunity and pre-ordered a soundtrack I've barely heard? What I *did* hear in the trailers and teasers, however, sounds absolutely epic. And the S&H costs to Europe are pretty decent, I was surprised!
