Hello

This is what I did

1) Install BG1
2) Install BG1 - ToSC
3) Install latest patch for ToSC
4) Install BG2
5) Install BG2 - ToB
6) Install latest patch for ToB
7) Install BG2Fixpack-v9
8) Install BGT
9) Install BG2Tweakpack-v9
10) Install Widescreen mod

According to somewhere I read this is what I was supposed to do if I remember correctly. This is the first time I try BGT so I have never got it to work on my computer.

So the problem. When I enter the game via BG2 everything goes fine up until I press 'Done' after character creation. Then then screen goes black with no music or anything happening. Ive been trying to wait a while just incase but after 2-3 minutes I closed it. This is where the "Nestled atop the cliff, there lies Candlekeep..." speech is started if I remember correctly. So I wonder, have I done something wrong? Is my computer too powerfull? (as I cant play Diablo2-LoD, twitching and rainbow colors everywhere).

Thanks

...

Does the BG2 start ... as you can actually start BG2 game in the interface too...
And did you try both of the games without any mods after installing the patches ? As that's the point where you make sure everything in the base game works, and that the patches are applied(the Windows Vista and 7 idiotically can prevent that and mod installs if you put the game to the Program Files folder), the video card doesn't make black boxes with the current settings, the fog of war works correctly... etc.

Before that, go to the BG2 game directory and open the file called baldur.ini, copy paste it's content to this thread.
Also when you install the mods, you should go off line, remove all the anti-virus & anti-spyware programs and the install the mods, while you make sure you know the source of the mod. After the mods have been installed them all, you can go and turn the programs on again, and scan the computer.

Put "Logging On=1" under Program Options in baldur.ini and see if you get any text in a baldur.err file after the black screen.

Something must've gone wrong with your install, because it looks like one of the game's tilesets (.tis files) is missing. Make sure the media you're installing from are clean (not scratched or anything). Does it work without the Widescreen mod?

Yea no, the dvds are like flawless as I just bought a bundlepack with all for games in it.

Maybe it had something to do with the fact that I was online and had my antivirus running? I read somewhere it could cause a problem.
