I don't know whether this has happened to anyone else... but, I talked to Blake, then Miss Adams, killed Draconus (sp?) and went to the Five Flagons and...

Hamlish wasn't there. :WTF:

I don't know whether his file didn't get extracted right or what, but any input would be helpful.

Which version are you playing?

If you're playing the new beta--it's possible he's in the shop now.

I recently completed a game with Hublepot where I did encounter a bug. The game was heavily modded. It occured only toward the very end of the game. Hub was essentially behaving like he had the Ease of Use script running constantly, and attacked the nearest enemy with his equipped weapon (or fists if he had nothing in a weapon slot). It rendered him useless as a spellcaster. I would direct him to cast a spell and instead he would target the nearest enemy and fight martially. I've since reinstalled the BG series on the computer, but FWIW here's the mod list for that game:

BG2FIXPACK
1PP
MOINESSEAVATARS
BW_HERBS_BG2
NMITB (Nightmare's Imoen the Bard)
MINSCKIT (Drew's Berserker MInsc)
AMBER
KELSEY
KETO
KIVAN
HUBELPOT
BANTERPACK
NPC FLIRT
DOQUESTPACK
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
BLACK ROSE PART I: MARKET PRICES
TURNIP GOLEM
SWORD AND FIST
SONG AND SILENCE
WILD MAGE ADDITIONS
BG2 TWEAKS
DIVINE REMIX
VIRTUE

I d/l'ed and installed version 1. I think I found a bug wrt Lieutenant Aegisfiel in the Bridge District.

I don't pick up Hubelpot before going to the Bridge District. While there, I do usually fight all the villains I can find, including Draconis anc company and then report to Aegisfiel. When I report to him that I have solved the murders, he gives me my reward and leaves. However, a new Lieutenant immediately spawns and acts as if it is the first time my character has entered the Bridge District. Consequently, a new set of Journal entries are made and the murder mystery is started over (except no villain in the store this time). An immediate chat with Aegisfiel has the dialog re: solving the murders, and a reward is given again. No more spawns occur.

For lack of anything better, I used NI to look at the area's bcs (as if I knew what I was doing but don't), and the only thing that struck me was that there's code that looks like SC#Hub is spawning Aegisfiel.

I'm pretty sure the bug I reported in the previous post is due to Hubelpot. In this game, I have not met Hubelpot, I have confronted the four villains in the Bridge District, and I stopped just before reporting to Aegisfiel that I found the culprit. So then I tried two scenarios.

In case one, at the time, my installed mods included Hubelpot. When I gave the news, the Lieutenant gave me my reward and left. However, immediately afterward, he reappeared and went thru the whole spiel as if the murders had not been solved. I talked with him immediately again, and he gave me reward again. This time he left and did not reappear.

In case two, I uninstalled Hublepot and proceeded reporting the murder to Aegisfiel. This time, he gave me my reward and left for good to do whatever he does then :)

I had the same problem after downloading and installing Hubelpot recently. Also - I had a problem with the quest to get the NPC 'Amber'... the 'children' that start the quest spawned dozens of copies of themselves and kept talking and talking. I worked around it but am worried about future bugs later in the game.

Aegisfield reappearing is a known bug - I screwed that part up. It'll be fixed when the next version is released. :)

Well, I recently installed Hubelpot. Thank you very much, by the way. And, surprise, surprise, as soon as I
have done the Skinner Murder quest, and go back and talk to Lt. Aegisfield, he thanks me, rewards me,
leaves, and immediately spawns again, and goes into his initial dialog about being careful because there is
a murderer of the poor ... So I told him about the Tanner, and got the reward twice, same as Beyshaliban reported in 2004. I then went looking for notes that referred to this bug, and was surprised to see this one in the Hubelpot forum. :) But just wanted to report another datapoint that this bug is still around.

And to thank you, of course.

Yes I'm playing with Hubelpot for the first time and this also happened to me. I very quickly paused when the new Aegisfield spawned and Ctrl-Y'd him before he could speak. Problem solved. :whistling:

In the feedback thread I noted I didn't get the option to fight Faldorn, but I see from some other posts, he's been able to fight Faldorn for other players. I also had Jaheira in party. I'm wondering if it's because I chose the Village Druid kit rather than the default, which may make the game not recognise him as a druid?

Seeing the comments here and the time that has passed since the last one, I don't know how much work can still actually be put into fixing this, but I had Hubelpot go nuts in ToB as well.

The issue seems to stem from incorrectly assigned scripts. Of course, I really don't know much about the game, but I think his current general script should be set as his default script and vice versa.

Retroactively fixing this didn't work, so I had to ditch Hubelpot. Pity.
Starting a new ToB game with scripts reassigned via Near Infinity did work, however.

One of Hubelpot's files have an errant "GLOBALS" :P I tried to attach the fixed file here. Thanks!

I love the Hubelpot mod. Playing it now for the first time. It's a lovely mod, but I encountered two bugs (Hubelpot v. 1.0 beta, I didn't find a more recent one, is there any out of beta?):

- the Lieutenant Aegisfield respawning bug is still there (I thought it was the Saerileth mod, that choses that moment to have a knight announce a purple dragon in the Umar Hills, but I found it mentioned here now, so I guess it's Hubelpot's bug).

- in the dialogue with Ham in the Fivehouse Flagons kitchen, Hubelpot refers my male CHARNAME to his son as 'he', which is correct, but when he mention's CHARNAME's name, he says 'Lady <CHARNAME>'.

It's not out of bet yet, though I am actually pecking away at it :)

Hubelpot Beta *does* double spawn Aegisfield but has nothing at all to do with dragons of any color.

And, yeah, Hub beta has a problem with his pronouns.

Thanks for your quick reply, I'm glad the mod is still being worked on, or to stay in character, a yet even tastier dish is being cooked in the kitchen.

Hubelpot Beta *does* double spawn Aegisfield

Adding a !Exists("Inspect") condition to the block in SC#Hub\Scripts\SC#AR0500.baf should fix this I hope :P

Attaching the fixed file for Hubelpot BETA until the next Hubelpot update :) Extract and overwrite the original file before installing to use it... Or use NearInfinity to add the missing condition to AR0500.BCS if anyone's already installed the mod
