1. Run BGTNEJ2 Patch "Boo Fixes" component.
2. Drop the attached Boo.itm, and Minsc.cre into your override folder BEFORE meeting Minsc in Nashkell, and he works great.
On another note - Boo appears to be a very powerful miniature giant space hamster. Upon my first encounter after "fixing" him, I came across a cave bear. Boo subsequently attacked, did 20 & 21 points of damage to the bear, knocked it unconscious, whereupon Imoen was able to finish it off with a short bow shot.

Sure! Moreover, Boo is not intended to be Minsc's familiar in BG1 because it contradicts the scenario in TS.

Boo Update: After the "fixed" (or should I say partially fixed) Boo is summoned, you can save your game and still be able to pick him up, however if you should need to resort to Azazello's "Power Word:Reload" and Boo is not in Minsc's inventory you can still pick him up, but you get no indication of "party gained an item". Boo won't show in your inventory and you have to Create him again.

There is one slight problem though: in the game, Minsc's alignment has, for some reason, been changed to Neutral Good, hence the reason why he can't equip Boo after using him. I would suggest either a modification of the item to make it usable by Neutral Good alignments, or just change Minsc's alignment back to what it originally was.
Apologies if this has already been mentioned.

Yep, you're right about the alignment ... i noticed that aswell and solved it. But it's just a "usable" issue ... the very bug rely in the fact that you can summon only once in the game the little creaure
