		<title>Problems with File Downloads</title>

		<description><![CDATA[<p>As you may have already noticed, we have switched to <a href='https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTTPS' class='bbc_url' title='' rel='nofollow'>HTTPS</a>; however, the legacy forum software suffers from some quirks with the encrypted protocol. Most notably, the file downloads directly from our server are still offered over the HTTP, which your browser may recognize as a potential security risk and block. Depending on your browser and settings, you may get a warning, or the file could get blocked silently, which may look as if some downloads were broken.</p>
<p>&#160;</p>
<p>Soon, all downloads will be served from our <a href='https://github.com/Spellhold-Studios' class='bbc_url' title='' rel='nofollow'>GitHub</a> organization or modders' personal repositories, which is going to solve this problem. In the meantime, if you experience issues downloading files that are not on GitHub yet, check your browser settings or try a different browser. Please do not report files as broken if they get blocked by your browser because of this issue.</p>

		<title>SHS forums update news</title>

		<description><![CDATA[<p>Hi,</p>
<p>&#160;</p>
<p>After some to-ing and fro-ing the forum Staff have progressed some behind the scenes work on the forum. The first result of this a couple of weeks ago, as those with keen eyes may have noticed, was the forums joining the 21st century and moving to HTTPS - hurrah!</p>
<p>&#160;</p>
<p>The next item on our TODO list is to resolve registration email issues, which we hope to have resolved within the next week.</p>
<p>&#160;</p>
<p>We're also rejigging the forums to make it clear this is an <acronym title='Infinity Engine' class='bbc ipSeoAcronym'>IE</acronym>-focused community, and to remove some of the old and unused forums. To this end, the forums listed below will soon merged or banished down into Spellhold 's deep dungeons - if there's anything you want to keep or copy, do so now before the cell door is closed and the key is thrown into the sewer, on <em>Wednesday 23rd July.</em></p>

		<title>SHS New GitHub Organization</title>

		<description><![CDATA[<p>Spellhold Studios will be changing its GitHub account. The owner of the previous organization and a prolific <acronym title='Infinity Engine' class='bbc ipSeoAcronym'>IE</acronym> modder, <a href='http://www.shsforums.net/user/24495-gwendolyne/' class='bbc_url' title=''>Gwendolyne</a>, disappeared suddenly in 2022, unfortunately without appointing a successor with the ability to effectively maintain our modding projects there. Sadly, all attempts to contact Gwendolyne or restore full access through GitHub Support have been to no avail, which is why we have decided to create a new account.<br>
<br>
All <acronym title='Spellhold Studios' class='bbc ipSeoAcronym'>SHS</acronym> mods will be gradually transferred to the new organization, which will be maintained by trusted, friendly, and open-minded Staff members. We recognize this as an initial inconvenience to Modders, but we hope our efforts put into preserving the community's legacy make up for it.<br>

		<description><![CDATA[<p><strong>Jaheira Friendship</strong> is a new addition to the <acronym title='Non-Player Character' class='bbc ipSeoAcronym'>NPC</acronym> Interaction Expansion Project: an attempt to bring more realism and interest to <acronym title='Baldur's Gate II' class='bbc ipSeoAcronym'>BG2</acronym> joinable NPCs with more interjections, friendships, and scenery dialogue. This mod adds a friendship with the iconic fighter/druid, Jaheira.<br>

The new dialogue was written by Lava Del'Vortel with editing help of Isewein and Llewren.<br>

We are happy to give the mods a new home at <acronym title='Spellhold Studios' class='bbc ipSeoAcronym'>SHS</acronym>!<br><br><strong><acronym title='Baldur's Gate' class='bbc ipSeoAcronym'>BG1</acronym> NPCs for <acronym title='Shadows of Amn' class='bbc ipSeoAcronym'>SoA</acronym> & <acronym title='Throne of Bhaal' class='bbc ipSeoAcronym'>ToB</acronym></strong> adds the majority of the NPCs from Baldur's Gate one into Shadows of Amn along with new items, quests, banters, and a city area. It is broken down into different components so that you can mix and match with other mods.<br><br><strong>Smiling Imp's Cross Banter Mod</strong> adds dialogue between Smiling Imp&#8217;s NPCs and other NPCs (Silver Star, Varshoon, Biddekelorak, Yasraena, Saerileth, Tsujatha, Horace, Kindrek, NPCs from "The Beaurin Legacy" mod etc.). The new version v1.6 comes with a readme and one added sound reference for Montaron.<br><br>

		<title>Edwin Romance updates to v3.1 with EET install error fix!</title>

<p>This is a <acronym title='Weimer Dialogue Utility' class='bbc ipSeoAcronym'>Weidu</acronym> mod for Baldur's Gate, Shadows of Amn, that allows the player to carry out a romantic relationship with Edwin Odesseiron, that insulting Thayvian wizard wearing red.</p>
<p>This package includes the entire Edwin Romance (<acronym title='Shadows of Amn' class='bbc ipSeoAcronym'>SoA</acronym>+<acronym title='Throne of Bhaal' class='bbc ipSeoAcronym'>ToB</acronym>) and is compatible with BGII, <acronym title='Baldur's Gate Trilogy' class='bbc ipSeoAcronym'>BGT</acronym>, BGII:<acronym title='Enhanced Edition' class='bbc ipSeoAcronym'>EE</acronym>, and <acronym title='Enhanced Edition Trilogy' class='bbc ipSeoAcronym'>EET</acronym>!</p>
<p>&#160;</p>
<p>There are five components. Three of them require the main romance component to be installed, but the last two (New Viconia Ending and Give Edwina a Portrait) can be installed without it:</p>
<p>&#160;</p>
<p>- <strong>Main component: Edwin Romance</strong>. This installs the Edwin romance, with all content described below.</p>
<p>&#160;</p>
<p>- <strong>Restore Edwin's <acronym title='Baldur's Gate' class='bbc ipSeoAcronym'>BG1</acronym> portrait</strong>: This will change Edwin's portrait to the <acronym title='Baldur's Gate' class='bbc ipSeoAcronym'>BG1</acronym> one. For this, the <acronym title='Baldur's Gate' class='bbc ipSeoAcronym'>BG1</acronym> portraits are just renamed to the BGII ones, no name change is done to any other files. Because of this, the portrait change will take effect even if the component is installed after meeting Edwin in the game. (Installing the mod late is still not recommended.)</p>
<p>&#160;</p>
<p>- <strong>Edwin flirts</strong>: This component adds the so called "player initiated dialogue" (PID) choices for an active romance.</p>
<p>&#160;</p>
<p>- <strong>New ending for Viconia Romance by Laufey</strong>: Changes the <acronym title='Throne of Bhaal' class='bbc ipSeoAcronym'>ToB</acronym> epilogue for Viconia. Install this component late after any other mods that might add dialogues to Edwin to be sure there will be no compatibility problem leading to stutter bugs.</p>

<p>- <strong>Give Edwina a Portrait</strong>: This component will give "Edwina" an own (female) portrait. If the component "Restore Edwin's <acronym title='Baldur's Gate' class='bbc ipSeoAcronym'>BG1</acronym> portrait" is installed before, the Edwina Portrait will be an adaption of Edwin's <acronym title='Baldur's Gate' class='bbc ipSeoAcronym'>BG1</acronym> portrait. Both Edwina portraits are from Syntia13. The component is not compatible with the "Female Edwina" components from Tweaks Anthology or Ease of Use.</p>

<p>The Edwina portraits are from <a href='https://www.deviantart.com/syntia13' class='bbc_url' title='' rel='nofollow'>Syntia13</a> and cover both Edwin's <acronym title='Baldur's Gate' class='bbc ipSeoAcronym'>BG1</acronym> and BGII portraits!</p>
<p>The quest character portraits are from Laufey, using <a href='https://www.artflow.ai/' class='bbc_url' title='' rel='nofollow'>Artflow AI</a>.</p>

<p>Almateria's Restoration Project (<acronym title='Almateria's Restoration Project' class='bbc ipSeoAcronym'>ARP</acronym>) has been well known and gathered popularity for years now. It started as a restoration of unused sounds, but then it become much more than that. Today it includes many components that bring back items, characters, encounters, dialogues and many many other things! It is a great option for those who are fishing for unfinished business-kind of content as well those who enjoy seeing new bits here and there. Note that the mod affects both Shadows of Amn and Throne of Bhaal content.<br>

<p>One of the things many find sorely lacking in the Bioware / Beamdog NPCs are the more complex relationships presented by modern <acronym title='Non-Player Character' class='bbc ipSeoAcronym'>NPC</acronym> mods--especially in regards to "friendships", the relationships NPCs have with the PC when not romancing them. This mod adds a series of dialogues with Dorn.</p>

SpellholdStudios has an <a href='https://github.com/SpellholdStudios' class='bbc_url' title='' rel='nofollow'>official GitHub Organization</a> now where mirror downloads for <acronym title='Spellhold Studios' class='bbc ipSeoAcronym'>SHS</acronym> mods can be found.<br><br>
Repositories may be forked by other users, giving the possibility to make changes and offer them for reintegration into the official <acronym title='Spellhold Studios' class='bbc ipSeoAcronym'>SHS</acronym> repository via so-called pull requests. The offered changes (pull requests) can be approved by the mod author or maintainer, and also <acronym title='Spellhold Studios' class='bbc ipSeoAcronym'>SHS</acronym> admins and active staff members will have the authority to approve them. Changes always welcome are bug fixes, technical / compatibility updates, and translations. Any other changes to content would need to be approved by the mod author / maintainer or handled depending on what the author stated.<br><br>
We ask everyone only to link to the official GitHub latest release, not to the master or one of their forks, so mod authors do not have to worry about wrong versions being spread.<br><br>
Of course, <acronym title='Spellhold Studios' class='bbc ipSeoAcronym'>SHS</acronym> mod authors have the final say in whether their mods will be uploaded and if they are, how they are handled. What is written here is a guide unless the mod author stated otherwise.</p>

<p>Adding a touch of humour and hopefully a hint of originality and interest, Nephele is a new <acronym title='Non-Player Character' class='bbc ipSeoAcronym'>NPC</acronym> for BGII: <acronym title='Shadows of Amn' class='bbc ipSeoAcronym'>SoA</acronym> and <acronym title='Throne of Bhaal' class='bbc ipSeoAcronym'>ToB</acronym>--a halfling cleric of Yondalla, mother of seven and a compulsive adventurer.</p>
<p>&#160;</p>
<p>A woman of many stories, she has lived a long and sometimes dangerous life, been married, had children (and grandchildren), and dealt with her demons. Nephele has no earth-shaking quest, no troubling issues and requires no therapy. That's not to say that she won't pipe up with her opinion at every juncture, and do her best to make you into the best young man or woman you can be!</p>

Some are minor encounters with no further impact, but some are larger quests that are also partly connected to each other.<br>
One large quest is given to you by Duke Eltan (before you go to Candlekeep). One of the longest quests also starts before Candlekeep: Talk to the lady outside the Sorceror's Sundries. One quest can be started by talking to Yness in Ulgoth's Beard.<br><br>

<p>Adding a touch of humour and hopefully a hint of originality and interest, Nephele is a new <acronym title='Non-Player Character' class='bbc ipSeoAcronym'>NPC</acronym> for BGII: <acronym title='Shadows of Amn' class='bbc ipSeoAcronym'>SoA</acronym> and <acronym title='Throne of Bhaal' class='bbc ipSeoAcronym'>ToB</acronym>--a halfling cleric of Yondalla, mother of seven and a compulsive adventurer.</p>
<p>A woman of many stories, she has lived a long and sometimes dangerous life, been married, had children (and grandchildren), and dealt with her demons. Nephele has no earth-shaking quest, no troubling issues and requires no therapy. That's not to say that she won't pipe up with her opinion at every juncture, and do her best to make you into the best young man or woman you can be!</p>

<p>Version 2.4 comes with additional native <acronym title='Enhanced Edition Trilogy' class='bbc ipSeoAcronym'>EET</acronym> compatibility and bugfixes.</p>
