CTD when adding notes to map

When I try to add notes to the map, and click OK the whole game crashes with an ' Runtime Error! Program: C:\BG\BGII - SoA\BGMain.exe'

This has only happened recently as I tested adding map notes in Chapter 1. Even if I start a new character I get this behaviour.

Are there any fixes that I can apply?

Have you tried to use the latest beta version of BWP to install your game ?
I also assume that your baldur.ini has the correct settings (CD1, CD2, etc.), linking to your current game folder.

This probably won't help you much, but I can add notes to the map on my game.

This is with a slightly customized "standard" install of the game, and the beta installer of BWP.

Oddly enough I had this same issue with my last play-through, and that was only using BGT (And a couple of mods) It's more of an annoyance then anything else. I suspect that it's related to the world map, but nothing to prove it.

I'll tolerate it and see how I get on.

Make sure you have 'Logging On=1' under Program Options in your baldur.ini file, reproduce the crash and then post the contents of the resulting baldur.err text file.

Interesting. I switched off the creative labs ALchemy application and it doesn't crash now. I'll do some further testing.

The baldur.err file was empty.
