According to Greg Henninger at PC Gamer, Good Old Games will add the Ultima series to their catalogue, starting with Ultimas I-IV on August 30th.

First: Ultima I, II, & III will be a bundled for the same price - I'm assuming this will be 9.99$ US. Apparently Ultima IV will be free (for a time?) regardless of whether or not you purchase the triple pack.

What a steal for a great game (groundbreaking back in its day anyway).

The Ultima I-III pack is 5.99$ US (less than I originally thought) and is available at GOG now. I haven't seen any mention of Ultima IV yet.

Heh, I still have the cloth map and "silver" ankh that came with the original game (hmm, wonder if that stuff is worth anything...).

You could get around 50-100 USD for the whole box, assuming that everything is still intact and present. Collectors like buying the original boxes.

On a side note, it's fascinating that you can still find many factory shrink wrapped older games on the market. Such as the big box copy of Throne of Bhaal that I spotted last year.

The next Ultima pack has been released at GOG. It consists of Ultima IV, Ultima V, and Ultima VI. And yeah, they did just release Ultima IV for free... they said that it's being included in the pack for symmetry, as in they didn't want to break up the three-pack format. The price tag is 5.99$.

Extras:
  • Manuals
  • Lorebooks
  • Reference Cards
  • Spellbooks
  • Cluebooks
  • Maps

I wonder if they'll get around to the spin-offs of Ultima VI. My favourite was Savage Empire. Basically, the avatar (main character) ends up in something resembling Arthur Conan Doyle's The Lost World :D.

There's always Ultima 6 for Dungeon Siege, providing you were foolish enough to by the original Dungeon Siege in the first place....:whistling:
