1. Check the area list for the area code (AR9700.are is South Beregost Road in BGT).
2. Open the area with an editor DLTCEP or Near Infinity and look for the key filename (ntkeypb4.itm in this case).
3. Open that item file (NI is best for this) and Find... references to this file.
4. You'll see the key is used in AR9001, which apparently is Haeball's Tower in Larswood (a NTotSC area).

Well the area map on google doesnt say anything about this key so i am guessing it was a mod with BWP that i installed a missed.

NTotSC

Of course it was a mod - half the content (or more) on BWP is going to be from mods (as opposed to BGT without other mods).

I read a long time ago the Key was for Haeballs tower, for his desk. When I get to his tower his desk opens, not sure if it would be locked without the key. In any case a deadly trap still goes off. In his basement is a locked box that cant be picked. Perhaps there is a second key? or maybe this one is broken.

I think you're best off posting specific mod questions like these in the NTotSC forum, since I have no clue what that mod does.

Yeah, that is the key for haeball's desk. You still have to detect traps to get rid of the trap but yeah you are right. As for the box in the bottom of his basement, I am about 99% sure haeball has the key on him and if you kill him you will get it. I would just keep playing through ntotsc for a while and visit haeball regularly until you are... motivated... to get that key from him because otherwise you wont be able to make much sense of the contents of the box.
