Hi, guys!

Sorry I've not been around lately, haven't even turned oblivion on, so, no screenies, at present, going to start 'er up, soon, so, yeah. Been watching on on the forums, and, dear lord, I'm still behind! :< The picture thread seems to be going /really/ slow, now, sadly. =/

Loving the stuff I've seen, and keep up the good work, everyone =D

Though I noticed Slof herself has textures for the females too (which I wish she would upload. She does not have to be so stingy :P).

Stingy????

I share loads of my stuff, including my resource files. I make one texture for myself for a specific character and suddenly I'm stingy?

It is easy enough to make a new skin for the female body using Satan's tattoo-free version and the tattoo layers from my Photoshop resource. That's all I did.

Exactly, the Slof is /not/ stingy. Trust me on that, people. <3 The Slofski.

@Kaelis Ebonrai: Well, would help if we could get some better angles of him. What's his hairstyle, by the way? Doesn't look very familiar...

His hairstyle?

The same one he had in his morrowind incarnation! =D

Posted Image

Well, with new textures, based on Avalon's hair =)

As for that shot.. I was going for the dark and mysterious look =P

But, will be getting some better shots when I'm finally happy with his face =P

Personally, with what I know about the goth subculture... "Happy-looking" isn't a problem. Mostly people think more emo when they think of goth-y stuff.

Goths /aren't/ always depressed.

http://luchaire.game...ts/Gothica2.jpg <-- this shot seems.. more gothy, to me. perhaps the lipstick from the latest is good..

I mean, yeah, I've hung out with a goth in my art-school days, and, yeah, she certainly didn't look sad all the time. =P Its a bit.. of a misnomer about goths, you know? =)

...

Yes, that is the same (base) model as Avalon's hair.

I should know, I put it in-game.

I wonder if they got the permission from Kozaburo. I know I certainly tried, and never even got a response.

@Cosmic-Banana: where did you get the clothing for your witch hunter character? =D It looks /brilliant/!

EDIT: @Treetop Smoker: Are those anims released? If they are.. can you point me to the release itself? =)

^ This? ^

I have one done, just need to check permissions, again (I'm sure it was a resource, but, need to check..) and then package and relz, if i can.

EDIT: nice, its a resource, just give credit, basically =)

Not sure where to post, so I'll post this here - I'm sorely lacking in sleep, so not much onlineness today - but look at the draft of SCOOP that khayman's worked up:

http://s.comtraya.net/t/scoop_01.png

I love it. What do y'all think?

EDIT: DOES NOT SHOW ALL CATEGORIES simply because it's a draft mock-up thingy. They'll all be there in the end. ;)

I love it! =D

Looks really cool, in my opinion ^__^

Ooh, you're the one that made the souba mod? VERY nice work on that. I typically don't use japanese-derived weapons in-game, due to RP concerns (such weapons haven't 'fit' any of my character thus far.), but, if I had a character that wielded that type of weapon, you can bet that I'd be using the souba A LOT. The same goes a souba version of the above weapon. I say release it.

Aye, that'd be me =)

I'm very glad you like it! I've honestly never understood why people love it so much, really. Its a really simple edit, imo =) But, it does make me very glad to see people getting some kind of use out of my stuff! =)

I'll just put this baby in-game.. test it a little.. then upload =)

there's actually a lot more souba variants that I'm working on, really =) Wakizashis, tantos.. offhands.. an ebony blade souba.. (and, basically the various different materials of this, too, with the possible exception of the forged one. (the ebony blade was used to make "kodachi"s in sevarian's akaviri imports mod, where I've gotten the textures from =) ) ) a goldbrand souba, as well, again, the different materials (the original wakizashi's from sevarian's katana were a smaller goldbrand, and the tantos were also made from goldbrand, so, again, I have textures for all but the forged variant, which I shall attempt to make)

The Goldbrand and the Ebony Blade meshes are done, by the way =)

I also have a new Daedric Katana, Its a mesh edit, editing the akaviri katana to be more... daedric-like, sadly, this one has a new uv-map, so, I can't use the daedric katana textures from sevarian's akaviri import resource =)

AlienSlof was going to take a look at a texture for me, though, so, here's hoping she ends up doing one =)

I'll also be making a souba variant of that katana, too. =P

A final thing I'm planning.. well, I have one done, but.. I want to do it again from scratch, is a meteoric iron katana, and, again, a souba variant =)

This is waaaay off topic for the comments thread, though :<

Sorry about that, guys!

I don't have much to add to this, because SeV has said all I would've said. I agree wholeheartedly.

I too, was one of the people who plucked up the courage to post, and, I was, indeed, welcomed. As will any other poster who wishes to post on that topic. We're all nice people, and we have no intentions of making anyone feel left out. Everyone is welcome! Absolutely everyone. There's a guideline here, at SHS, "Treat all members with respect, be they admin, moderator, or normal member." (I'm probably (slightly) misquoting that) Treat everyone with respect, that they do so wholeheartedly deserve, and, things will be fine. They should also treat you, with respect, as well. As I've been known to say:

"Respect goes both ways."

Be yourselves, be friends, and, above all, enjoy yourselves!

Welcome, gf1!

Great to see you here, and, indeed, your sentiments echo my own. You always were a wise fellow. ;) Don't worry too much about not being able to post, we'll be waiting for you, trust me. =) Thank you for spending the time to post here, my friend.

#299078 Lets discuss a few things

Easy people, easy.
Lets keep it calm, ok? =)

Floydian1: I do not say this as a moderator of SHS, but, it may be valid. There have been some cases were people have disliked you, but, since the move, people have been seeing you in a different light. It is, I hope, for the better. You're a nice enough guy, when people get to know you. I'm hoping that Luchaire did not mean to be offensive, nor did he intend to be confrontational. This is my hope.

Luchaire: I also believe that Floydian does not have issues with you, I don't speak for him on that, but, it is my belief. I'm willing to bet he's just somewhat stressed, I think a lot of us are. But, I believe things will, indeed, calm down. Shifting an entire community from one forum to another, is a big deal, and, its not going to settle down overnight, but, it'll be worth it, in the end, I think.

So far, how does everyone feel about the move? From what I gather, most of you are happy about how things are. But, I'd like to know how you guys feel yourselves. Me? I'm thrilled about how things are going. You guys (and girls), are going really great, its a pleasure to know you all.

We'll try and sort this out, as rational adults, ok? =)

I don't know why, but I feel somehow much more at home here. Maybe its me being silly, but i get the feeling i'm getting to know you all better here? And I like that and you all a lot. I'm equally thrilled I guess

EDIT: Also, just checking, you guys do know we've got an entire forum waiting out there for you all ;)

you're obviously welcome to post topics are you choose, and so on, I'm pretty sure you're aware of this, I just want to make sure =P

Both Screenshooting Guides from Shadow' and Divine Avenger, along with Other Useful Tips and Tricks with contributions from Floydian1, trollf, Badmagic, Gadar, Spike, and an ever-growing list of others, have been moved to a separate thread:

Click Here for Screenshooting Guides and Other Useful Tips and Tricks

Click Here for Generating Faces in Oblivion: A Compilation of Guides, Tips and Tricks from the Community

Some Specific Posting Guidelines (in "addition" to all the ones Spellhold Studios already require)
Welcome! This thread encourages people's feedback about whatever is posted here. However, any criticism of presented screenies, character ideas, stories, etc., should be very specific and constructive. This kind of criticism is a great way for us to learn and improve our skills.

However, due to some extreme and abusive criticism around the time of our 50th (original) thread (which was thankfully cleared out by a moderator), it became necessary to post the following:

NO criticism should be directed at the PERSON - only at his or her WORK.

Also, whatever criticism is presented, it should NOT be negative in general terms - such as, "That screenie is really lame." This type of non-specific criticism only insults and does not provide any help whatsoever. Or even worse, this kind of criticism: "You are a silly man with a silly idea." If you really must say something negative to someone outside of this simple "code", keep it off this thread!

Another bottom line rule on this thread we have learned over time: If you find a post really offensive, REPORT IT AND IGNORE IT! The moderators know how to quickly deal with any such situation, and will remove any offensive posts, if they are actually offensive. Arguing or making demands regarding the post, invariably ends up worsening the situation, and can even result in all involved parties getting a warning.

Also, some posts can be too vague and subject to interpretation - so please word your posts very clearly to avoid any misunderstandings, especially if they are critical in nature.

Regarding receiving comments or not receiving comments to your post:
Comments are hit or miss on this very fast moving thread. This thread moves so FAST that it is hard for lots of us to comment on peeps' screenies. So many, if not most screenies may appear to go unnoticed, because no comments occur. I am sure many of us have worked hard on something, and it appears to just fly by the pages, because of this very popular thread. Many of us try to take time to comment because it is fun to give others feedback and generally seems appreciated. But often no one does. If you really feel like it always happens that your post is ignored, ask a question about it. Whenever you directly ask about something, it is almost always answered by someone. Or even repost it - and point something out about it that you like or want feedback on.

And the best way to get comments? Positively, constructively/specifically comment on others work too!

Alright! Glad that is out of the way. Have fun and thanks for your contribution to this thread!

(Written by greatfool1 with direction from other contributors to this thread. Please PM greatfool1 if you do not agree with any part(s) of this.)

P.S. Winner of the most frequently given tip to new screenshooters, and deserving to be mentioned in the op:
To get rid of the HUD (Menu), use the console command "~", then "TM" to Toggle Menu Off/On. :)

And the runner up may be: How to add a caption and get rid of ImageShack Ads/the Golden Frog, etc. Also, may be applicable for ridding other sites' ads.
One more: A short summary post of how to do an action screenshot.

New as of SHS Thread #1

A new feature, to the POOC Thread, is the attachment function for posting. Images up to 512kb can be attached in your post =)
-----

Welcome, one and all, to a new beginning for the picture thread, welcome, and may you enjoy your stay!

@Mystykar - When are you going to give us those lovely re-texs?

When others share theirs outside their circle. Maybe. I sent Purple to one person and am glad I did as it had a problem that I didn't see.

B)

I don't know of a circle, if you mean, for example, Avalon, then, yeah. I'd love to share her. Thing is, I'm legally obliged not to. Releasing her hair, is illegal. pretty much everything else, is fine. The hair? no. =/ I wholeheartedly believe in releasing things under free-use licenses, but, I can't with avalon, I don't have permission to.

I'd personally love to see your retexes, they look damn great, and I'd love to have them in my game.

If there's something non-avalon's hair, you want from my screenies, I could get it to you, no worries.

I personally enjoy your screenies, and, I'd love to see those retexes released.

And, as I said earlier, pm me or K'aeloree, or the new oblivion moderators (when they are appointed), if you something bothers you about how things are going. We're open to suggestions, and will do our best help solve problems you might have with the forums. =)
