How do you equip Jaheira?

I think most people slap a STR belt on her, and the best armor possible. After that, there's a lot of ways to go:
Do you go for a spear? Staff? Club & Shield? Dual Wielding (Belm is an awesome off-hand weapon and she can use it).
I'd love to hear some ideas.
Oh, squiggly line in my eye fluid. I see you lurking there on the periphery of my vision. But when I try to look at you, you scurry away. Are you shy, squiggly line? Why only when I ignore you, do you return to the center of my eye? Oh, squiggly line, it's alright, you are forgiven.

The only thing I equip her with is boots. Specifically, a swift boot in the arse toward the nearest unused buildingHow do you equip Jaheira?

Heh heh. Ok, when I do use her, I usually give her a staff I think. Depends on the mods you have - BG1NPC adds a quest club for her and a druid spear; BG2 has even more mod options.

Giant strength belt, her pin later, shield as appropriate for the situation (M.R., saves, harmony, balduran), boots of speed (because if she's there first, the monsters will target her), cloak of sewers or reflection.
The other option is a sling, and letting her be baggage.

Not being able to go more than ** doesn't hurt in BGII, and you have a lot of ways to increase her STR (the weakest part of her warrior abilities).
I'm stuck between going for staffs & spears & 2 handed style, or to go for dual wielding a club and scimitar. She'll get to level 9 for me tonight, and I need to make a decision. Hmmmmmm...

In the rare event I keep her, she gets the Staff of Thunder or Woodlands later

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, Champagne in one hand, strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming WOOHOO! What a Ride!

Heh, I gotta agree with CMorgan about the insect plague, since these damn mages tend to be the worst to deal with... what is up with them and mirror imaging, and then disappearing+stoneskin as soon as I get within range!?
Its not like I'm going to hurt them... much.

Either way for having her fight I usually rely on the forms she can take, a druid's best assets in my opinion. If she isn't at a range, then she's usually in one form or another as long as the fight is tougher than your random group of ruffians in the docks or slums districts.
Outfitting her with the Shield of Balduran does wonders as well when dealing with Beholders.

A pity her luck runs out with the vile illithids...
Anyway, she's possibly one of the better Support characters, if I want a fighter, I'll get a single classed fighter/ranger/paladin.

Edit: Oh right! Armor.
Well as for that, she usually gets an even balance depending on how things go, she's not exactly desperate for chainmail, and I prefer to avoid any heavier splint or plate mails since they just get her encumbered way too easily.
And since Barkskin can fix the problem of AC easily enough in the early stages, there's another reason why she usually ends up with one of the leather armor types, or when I can afford it as far as party balance goes, chain mail.
Magic items on the other hand, such as the affore mentioned Harper's Pin and a helmet of such and such (really depends on which foes I'll be facing: ie - vs vampires equip charm protection).
Personally I'm a fan of having all of my team members covered with haste however, and Speed Potions are not always the best way to go about things but nessecary nonetheless... until you get Boots of Speed of course.

I usually rebuild her proficiencies to replace club with staff/sling, and go from there.
I used to do this too actually.
Recently I've been exploiting the fact that she's one of the few characters I can think of off-hand to come with native Scimitar proficiency.
I've only recently started to explore her magical ability as useful for anything other than patching up wounds.

Oh no not that. I give her the belt of gender. She can go a lot of different ways.

I give her a scimitar of some sort and a shield. Spears and clubs don't cut it in my well armed and armored party.

Weapons wise I do the standard club/scimitar/sling.
I try to avoid having her use a sling however, because unless you specialize in them and/or have a really awesome sling and bullets, they do pitiful damage and have a very slow ROF compared to other missile weapons.
I might wanna try the Dual Wield build in my next playthrough though. Afterall she does have a decent dex and her hitpoints are okay-ish, so the trade off does seem worthwhile. The only real hindrance are her starting proficiencies.
