am having problems with the missions.

esp missions 10-13.

many of them load up but dont load the UI so i am sat there looking at the characters, and background but have no way to move them around or infact pressing the keyboard does nothing. (am running xp)

Has anyone got past the 13 missions?

IS there a way to skip past these.?

is the developer for this TC still alive?

Hi,

You can find the latest patches on the Bioware site. For Baldur's Gate II, it's here. I don't know whether this will help you with this specific problem. But you shall indeed try it. Since the patch may override files from the mod, I suggest you uninstall the mod first, install the patch, then reinstall the mod. Your saves are safe to use afterwards.

This behaviour is not unknown unfortunately. But my requests for clarification of the bug case were never answered, so it's difficult to fix this issue. I tested the fix brought in version 1.0.3 before releasing that verion, on both SoA and ToB, and never got the problem (although I got it before the fixes).

I'm afraid there is no simple workaround. The script to teleport also handles variables that wouldn't be properly set by using MoveToArea from the console, so that additional problems would arise in the mission.

I assume you tried several times for the same mission. If you didn't, please try again, maybe from another room from the base.

Could you please answer a few questions:
  • Are you running version 1.0.3 of the mod?
  • Can you try this scroll from another room of the base? If it works, please report in which room it was failing and which one made it work (use the X key to reveal the area code).
  • Do you ever get the same problem when using the scroll on the way back?
  • What is your computer setup (processor, frequency, RAM size, graphic card)?
  • Did you tweak the AI refresh rate in BGConfig to something other than 30? If you did, please set this value and try again.
I'm still supporting the mod. But I'm not "developping" it. There has been only fewer posts since version 1.0.3 and my requests for clarifications on bugs have not been answered. So I'm not able to fix anything I can't replicate. I made a Mac version recently, for which I'm waiting for feedback from a Mac user to release it. No bug fix though.

Thank you for any information that may help understanding this issue.

i have an older pc running win xp

32 bit amd athlon ~2gig 2gig ram agp nvidia 6200.

I dont have tob and havent installed the latest bioware patch.

Will try and use scrolls from different rooms...

btw i have mate inmanc who might beinterestedin helping you with this tc if you fancied developing it. We did IT at uni together and he was much moreinto programming than me.

AM enjoying this tc,as much as ican play it....what lvl of character is it aimed at btw? I imported my toon from my BG2 walkthrough, so had a lvl 17 paladin. The rest of the party i tweaked a little with shadow keeper, but most ofthem i kept around lvl 10.

AM using imoens belt to stop my main fighter dying, so am cheeting) tbhi prefer to have fun than spend ages healing up!

btw the cutscene freeze thing, seem random on some of the missions.

The mission to get the 4 peepsout of the prision...forget the number of that one, it didnt work at first, but i kept trying and eventually got it to work.

I do occasionally get the problem wheni gate back to base, but it happens 1 in 10 roughly.

AM guessing its best to use a room withminimal gfx as the "jump pad" room??

IS there a way to travel overland other than the scrolls? Obviously i followed the scrolls route as it seemed the best way to follow the storyline.

ok more info as iget it )

Thank you for the feedback.

The computer I used for my tests is similar : Athlon XP 3000, 1 GB, ATI 9600. I was wondering whether a faster PC could be too fast for some synchronisation in the game. Some people have problems with BG II with brand new PC, though it's usually due to the graphic card driver.

As I said, you shall definitely try the official patch. I use it on my test configuration. Maybe it won't solve the problem but it's not possible to support various configuration, SoA and ToB is already enough.

You can find the mod version in the ReadMe file, which shall be in the eeconv directory. Check the history part. Alternatively, you could also run the setup again and check whether the mod can be installed in German and Italian. They were added in version 1.0.3.

The circumstance you describe is typical of the teleportation issue. It seems to be more common without ToB. Before the fixes in version 1.0.3, I managed to reproduce it with SoA. With the fixes, it failed to appear in about 20 tries. Since I'm at a loss to reproduce it, I would welcome any save game from which you get the problem most often. You may make an archive of the directory of the save game and attach it to a message or send it to the e-mail address provided in the ReadMe.

Since I don't know what can cause the problem, I can't suggest any better place to try. As I said, the usual workaround with the console and MoveToArea() is not enough as using the scroll also sets some mandatory variables.

As for your proposal, I wouldn't mind letting someone improve the mod. I'm afraid I don't have so much time to do that myself. Besides I took over only to integrate translations to the mod, not to expand it in any way. I would gladly help anyone willing to have a go at improving it. Elhoe created it a tactical challenge, which is really beyond my skill at this game and doesn't help when having to test changes. So if your friend is interested, just tell him to get in touch with me.
In principle, you shall be able to start at level 7 or 8, as with Shadows of Amn. But I do find that very hard too.

Hi,

I had the same problem with 1.0.3. then I downloaded V100 and could play the game smoothly. It's a brilliant game. Many thanks and bravo.
