
Taerom's store inaccessible with ankheg shell in inventory

I know there have been problems with the ankheg shell quest in the past going back several builds. Was this a compromise to make it work more smoothly or is this something else? I know it operated differently in vanilla BG1, but that's not my primary concern - as it is, it seems counter-intuitive.

It had to be fixed. However, in vanilla BG1, you also cannot access the store until you do something with the shells.If one or more ankheg shells are in inventory, Taerom's store is not accessible. The dialog terminates if the player refuses to sell them or pay to have them made into armor. This seems strange in the case where the player would like to make the armor but does not yet have the money (maybe they would like to sell items to Taerom first so they can afford his prices). In this case, the player is forced to drop the ankheg shells in order to access Taerom's store inventory to buy/sell items.

You'd have to add text, which is something that I am completely against.Is there a problem with fixing it so that it works logically? (I don't know - I haven't looked at it.)

So if you Miloch, or anyone else create the code, I am quite sure Ascension64 puts it there, once it's tested etc. Unless...

It might make a good tweak, but I'm not good at dialogue modding, so someone else'd have to do it. I was mainly wondering if we should fix it in the BG1 Fixpack too, but we are also against adding text unless absolutely necessary.
