I posted this in another topic but it got no response, I think this warrants its own topic for everybody to discuss.

So with TOR official (it being a thousand years or however long) into the future with the real Sith finally returning at what time should the story of KotOR III take place at? And once permitting that how? Any ideas? Keep in mind Bioware has said they'll be mentions and decendants of old characters but everyone (including Revan) will not be involved in the TOR. I'd like to hear a fresh prospective from people...

Here's a few possibilities I think:

1- A new character is created, say a fresh-faced passionate Padawan full of young exuberence being trained under one of the lost Jedi...a: some threat arises in the known galaxy (say a crime lord or some such bad guy from the vacuum of both wars) and he faces it with the other lost Jedi with Revan and the Exile returning from Unknown space towards the end. b: one day he leaves his Master before his training is complete (this would setup the pitfall of light/dark side) and goes to look for Revan and the Exile while the rest of the Republic/Mandalorians lie in wait, after several cross planetary clues he finds both Jedi and the story resumes from there. (Not much detail here but something like this could write itself)

(I get into more detail here but I'm a writer on the side, so sue me...sorta my personal fantasy of a perfect way to tie in the trilogy)

2- You resume your role as either the Exile or Revan (choosing before you begin the game), a: the Exile finds Revan in a dismal state having been defeated and enslaved by the true Sith for some time, as the Exile you free Revan and the two set out to destroy the Sith empire before they are ready to rally their forces for invasion. You run into an unstoppable Sith :mainbadguy-DarthWhatever: that originally defeated Revan, even with the combined power of the two strong Jedi they are no match for him and his forces. Dejected they escape the Unknown Regions with all hope lost...then we cut to a vision or Force ghost of Kreia, she informs them that hope is not lost but there is a way to defeat the Sith Lord but they must jouney back to Malachor V which has been miraculously restored through the Force...there, they return to the Trayus Core where Kreia awaits to inform that in order for them to suceed they must both fight one another to the death.

It is only by this way that one of them will be strong enough to confront the :mainSithbadguy: and defeat his rising empire(it would have to be Malachor V alone for the transferance of power to work). Reluctantly they agree knowing it to be the only way or the Sith will succeed. So as the player you make your choice and one of them eventually slays the other in an awe inspiring battle...for cannon I was thinking the Exile should kill Revan, I know no one is more powerful and every loves Reven but it's sorta be a passing of the torch as Master-Apprentice, plus the Exile has the advantage of the void in the Force that Revan does not...a tear jerking cinamatic with Revan dying in the Exiles arms or vice versa as the planet begins to break apart once again. The Exile escapes as the world returns to its former destroyed state, eventually he rallies the Republic under Carth, the Jedi under Bastila and the Mandalorians under Canderous.

They set out to the Unknown Regions after the rising Sith empire, a great battle ensues on the true Sith homeworld from the ground, in the air and between the Exile and the :mainSith:...in an epic duel the Exile with the new found strength is able to kill :theSithbadguy: and with his death his forces are stunted loosing the power of their Master, they are easily routed by the Republic and Mandalorians. The trilogy ends with Kreias redemtion for saving the galaxy returning to the light :herforceghostappears: or she is seen transformed into one. Then the Exile and the surviving members of the Republic celebrate finally, fully victorious as the Exile overlooks the cheering members of both armies from a higher level with the sun setting on the credits with the Republic entering a 200 year era of peace and prosperity. The End...but after the credits a lone Sith (either :mainSithbadguys: Apprentice or just plain Sith) is shown crawling from the wreckage after the battle swearing his vengeance upon the Republic and the Jedi, he leaves with a splintered force to a hidden world in the Unknown Regions where they could never be found, allowing their forces time to rebuilt unchecked. This is where TOR timeline would come in.

Obviously not getting into the specifics like varying party members or for a change (being the only two in Unknown Space) none at all. And we could switch up the dark/light storylines, of course on Dark Malachor survived...instead of the Exile finding Revan, the light Revan returns to assume control challenging a dark Exile...so on, so forth with everything falling into overall plot place.

You could spin it a hundred ways but I feel one of these ideas could be a winner, what do you think? I got probably a million plot ideas lol...and of course post your ideas as well.

Revan vs. Exile? NO. PC as either one? NO. Uknown world conflict + Republic under Carth, the Jedi under Bastila and the Mandalorians under Canderous? NO. It all fights, and reaks too much of TOR.

My story: Now, let's take a single junior Jedi/Soldier from the known space, give him first few early missions, then one really easy 'get me a plate from the jar' -mission, where he get's napped by raider ship, which then leads the player to all the way to a quest to prevent impending assault from the Unknown Space by :mainbadguy-DarthWhatever:'s hidden Sith armada... and there we see that the Revan and Exile do their part in the war...

Carth, Bastila and Canderous stay in the known space for TOR game, and train unsuspecting Jedis etc...

Not to be rude or anything (as enthusiasm is always refreshing), but plot ideas are always going to be irrelevant since KotOR III, should it ever be made, will be plotted by LucasArts and whichever developer they choose to make it.
If it comes, it comes. But to be honest, whilst I loved the first one and quite liked the second, I'm almost a bit scared what a third game would do to the characters we've come to know and love. We'll see, I guess.

Eh I don't find your story much better, mine is yeah a little fanficky but I think elements are good with the dramatic moments you need in a captivating RPG...the Bastila/Revan romance should take presidence somehow to, like a dramatic reunion of the two lost loves.

I also like the idea of a young Jedi (say 16, 17) full of young male bravoto leaving his Master to go look for Revan and the Exile...we journey to a few worlds and ships in the Unknown Regions running into problems pieceing together clues as we go then (say mid-part of the game) we find Revan and the Exile and the story takes off from there...

Wow, I guess it is true, these forums are dead

What if the story was done in a completely different manor alltogether. Like having Chapters like (in a book) or Parts like (in a movie). I know it would kinda take away from the RPG element but it'd be a new refreshing approuch. For instance...

You have an opening prologe to inform the player as to what the current state of affairs is...short gameplay sequence to introduce the player to the new controls and such.

Chapter 1: A Lost Droid

You take on the role as HK-47, your primary goal now is to track down your Master- Revan. In the process you've been taken captive by hostile pirates/mercenaries seeking to sell the prized droid to the highest bidder. Gameplay will start with the role of busting out and taking control of the ship, say a good 20-30 minute gameplay sequence with you making progress then...cutscene, Mandalore led by his fleet slip from hyperspace lock onto the ship. Canderous is in search of HK to get the information stored in his memory- namely Revans last known location. His troops board the ship and after a heated battle incapacitate the droid, Mandalore leaves the thugs to their fate floating off dead into space. Extracting the information Canderous learns Revans last possible location is on the fringes of the outer rim on some undocumented planet. He travels there with his fleet in the hopes of finding more information about Revan...

Chapter 2: In Search of a Hero

Months have passed since your trek into Unknown Space and you as the Exile are truly lost having fought perilous battle after perilous battle on unknown worlds in search of Revan. Many have died and you are reduced to a fighting few with your supplies wanning. Gamplay begins with your approch to a mysterious planet clouded in dark side energy, like a dozen times before you have no idea what you will encounter. You trek across the desolate world seemingly devoid of life eventually coming across strange warriors the likes of which no one has seen before, they are unending and fierce fighters killing two more of your party...you take shelter in a nearby cave as they hunt for you overnight. While recovering your last party member dies of his wounds 'lets say Atton'. Helpless you hear an echo inside the cave reminicent of a familiar betrayed voice "You will die here unless you find him"...the eerie message drives you on as morning comes and you continue on trying to make it back to the Ebon Hawk. Fighting off all attempts you are fatally wounded cradling back to your ship, surprisingly you receive no more attackers until you're desolate walk back to your ship reveals why...around the ship you see bodies upon bodies of the mysterious dead warriors, then as the player your heart shudders as you hear clanking feet from the ramp. You gasp in awe as your journey is over, slowly from the shadows emerges Revan without his mask (kinda like my avatar)...you approuch, he simply says..."I need your help"

We skip ahead a few chapters as things happen with Revan and the Exile...

Chapter 5: A Trap is a Trap

You take on the role as Mandalore now as you emerge from hyperspace to the droids coordinates, surprisingly you find nothing but wreckage of destroyed ships and an ongoing space battle, there is no planet in sight. HK had tricked them! Or had he? The Hunter Killer droid took his coordinates from another sneaky little droid, T3-M4. The little droid had purposely given him the wrong information knowing the Mandalorians would track him down and follow the coordinates...but at the moment the deception seemed secondary to your current threat, the Republic is dispatching of what's left of a long since crumbled Sith Empire. In a battle of your choosing, air, ground, whatever you and the Republic ships destroy what is left. A tense moment ensues as the Republic and Mandalorian fleet begin towards each other in attack formation, a message then plays through...it's an old familar face, Carth. He demands his fleet stand down...Mandalore is unimpressed having been lured here, they begin to proceed with their attack when Carth utters the magic words "I think I know where Revan is"...he stands down and the two meet on the bridge of the Republic ship, Carth reveals an artifact found on the dead Sith leader with enscribed writings that look like hyperspace coordinates. The two confer and tentatively agree to join forces and go to the coordinates together...

I could write some more if you want but these are just ideas, some of many I've contribed. I think it would be a nice approch to the next game doing it this way with Chapters and Parts allowing you to play as multiple characters you love instead of isolating you to just one...like I said it takes away the RPG element but they could integrate it into more of a overall story format instead of just one perspective. Refreshing in my view...but likely shot down and not workable. Let me know and I you want to hear more...

Well, no. I just haven't played the game at all, I am still waisting for the Restoration project that will never be complete. <_<

But wow, you have movie script in your hands... movie cause the Revans situation couldn't be actually played in an cRPG game, as the supplies can't run out.

Chapter 1: A Lost Droid

For the plot, I would like this section be like it was in the stories, the HK-47 stories. You begin as the droid, and your 'master' gives you order to kill, that will lead to... Do I even need to tell? And with you mission 'completed', the droid logs off. ;)

when Carth utters the magic words "I think I knows where Revan is"...

Ah, the shiver that ran through my spine.

And yes, I really would like the story be ran as the people of the game, and not just some unknown person right in the middle of the conflict. Revan... The General aka the Exile.

I know, its not really an RPG you've got here but they could be creative and integrate the elements of RPG into a multiple character perspective story...overall not workable and doomed to fail but it feels like a fresh perspective I think KotOR gamers would enjoy.

Eh its an idea, I got a sleeve full of 'em...I think if I really got right down to it I could buckle down and write KotOR III.

Alright to keep giving examples this would be from a Part perspective (movie)...say KotOR III contained 6 Parts.

Part VI: The Choice

Having found and fought the true Sith Empire to a standstill there would be no respite, eventually with their numbers and unparalleled dark side weapons and powers the Sith would prevail. Meanwhile deep into unknown space Revan and the Exile with help from the long since forgotten Grey Jedi have captured the Sword of Eden from the Temple of Pyrros on Xosk, the only real weapon they now have against the Sith. With the strength of the new found weapon the Sith are quickly routed astonished at the power of Revans stunted force. You 'the player' take on missions with Revan or the Exile as world-by-world in Sith space they are forced to retreat until an impeding battle on the ancient Sith homeworld of Dis, it is a treacherous battle as many die on both sides. Revan seeking retribution on the Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Satarin for the death of his love Bastila will sacrifice everything to stop the insurmountable power of the true Sith.

On Day 6 of the battle it appears the Sith will succeed and hold off Revan and his force with the dark side of their world fueling them...but a godsend from hyperspace appears as Carth with the Republic and Canderous with his Mandalorians have finally arrived at the correct coordinates Revan had sent them upon their earlier reunion. 'After you the player choses which role you like' together the combined force crushes all resistance as several Sith ships evacuate their world, Revan and the Exile fight towards the city-wide Temple of Belial as the Carth and Mandalore take their force after the escaping Sith led by Satarins Apprentice, Darth Nafarius. The evil dark side paridise is the last haven for Satarin and the true Sith...you as the player choose your role as the Exile who goes one way through the Temple or Revan who goes another. The Exile makes it to Satarins inner-sactum first, she fights the evil Lord of the Sith in a epic battle, eventually the more powerful Satarin bests the Exile and prepares to kill her as Revan finally arrives having killed the Sith Lords bodyguard, Malice.

As the player you now have your choice, save the galaxy by killing Satarin with the galaxy-cradling Sword of Eden, sacrifice yourself for the Exile or let Satarin dispatch the Exile then kill him and rule the galaxy as the true Lord of the Sith for yourself. For this we'll take the true light path, Revan stabs himself with the Sword of Eden...the resulting sacrificial Force energies drown and kill the evil Satarin. The Exile cradles Revan in her arms as a tearful cinematic plays and Revan dies...his final words- "It is done..."

Then we cut to you as the player choosing Carth or Canderous chasing after Darth Nafarius and the escaping Sith in a space battle. Despite your best efforts Nafarius and a few of his ships escape cloaking their hyperspace coordinates into the pocket of unknown space. The Old Republic timeline... The Exile and what is left of Carth and the Republic begin a long rebuilding process after nearly 20 years of constant war...Canderous and his Mandalorians decide to remain in Sith Space on Dis and its surrounding worlds, the constant struggle will keep them tested and ready as Mandalorian lore dictates. A finishing cinematic wrapping up all three games telling us the ending future of the main characters we all care about...

There you have it...another possible piece of KotOR III.

I think you need to go all the way back to the begining, the starforge was not technology that (I forget the races name) developed. It was left by the orignal sith, which had enslaved them. All along we have had hints of the original sith empire. I feel if a SWKOTOR III were ever to be made it would need to follow the logical conclusion and fufill the promises and unresolved plot lines of the entire franchise. I would like to see in the character generation at the begining the choice of being either light side or dark side. The climax could culminate with either light/dark side having the chance of turning. I think what ever you choose it should start with a padawan character and you will have to go through training. Instead of picking up abilities left and right, which to me always seemed like the easy way out, you could decide on what areas to concentrate as a padawan. IE warrior, consular or master. Then you could do something like create a skill set that will be your primary focus and not cost you as many force points as say a skill outside your primary skill set. As far as the plot goes to me the struggle between the exile and revan is nothing more than good vs evil. Which the entire SW universe is based on. You as a padawan could end up finding clues to their location and go off in search of the strongest master of your side light/dark to learn from. Along the way the clues lead you to the characters who's plot lines need to be tied up. And of course you will end up getting into situations that require you to learn more and grow. Then after you have discovered the exile/revan you either kill them or team up and end up taking on the sith empire, either to destroy it or to take it over as it's true Sith lord.
