Make sure "Logging On=1" is under Program Options in your baldur.ini file, reproduce the crash and post the contents of the resulting baldur.err file.

Some mod wrecked your Stats.ids, as SCRIPTING STATE X is present in an unmodded BG2 installation.

Thanks for the quick replies. I can't see anything in the baldur.err file that i opened after the crash after typing Logging On=1 in the baldur.ini file under program options. It just says: start logging session.

What do i do if my stats.ids is wrecked? I could play through the game and install vecna after temple ruins and shadow dragon etc are completed but then I don't know if it could cause a crash somewhere else aswell.

The crash only occurs with vecna installed. When i uninstall vecna the game works fine so far....

Hi everybody
well, my problem is easy and propably quite stupid, it concerns installation
as it is required I unpacked all the required BAM files to folder vecna/content, but still mod cannot be installed:

An installed mod requires Shadows_harpy_frostgiant.zip extracted to your
vecna/content folder. - but I did extract that properly! i extracted that using 7-zip program, than manually moved all the files from all 4 folders to vecna/content (previously i've done the same with all other required bam files ie. iwd)
What have I done wrong and what should be done to install mod properly? plz, help
Thank you a lot for all help

I'm having a problem installing the vecna mod, and I'm posting my debug log. Everything seems to be fine until I get a biff-key mismatch and then it goes wonky at bgtcre.bif:

I'm already playing with the latest TDD and Check the Bodies, and BGT on top of them (with World Map mod included too, of course). Can I add your mod without worrying for a future game-breaking conflict with the other mods mentioned? I know you can never tell for certain, but what are the chances? Thanks

Is this mod already inactive? It's a shame if it is. It's just too great a mod to miss.

I don't mind starting a new game. But you mentioned a need for fresh install? So this mod goes in conflict with TDD, Check the Bodies, or BGT?

Have you check out BiG World v9.7 english.pdf and BiG World Setup Beta-Testing? It will install Vecna if you fallow directions.

Allow me to applaud such a well-documented mod. But I just went through a week of exams, I can't bear another long read. Can I humbly ask for a simple installation procedure for BGT, TDD, CtB, and Vecna only using BWP Setup? That also means I have to download those mods that I've already downloaded?

Just use the Big World Setup program Chev linked and select only the mods you want. If they're already in a BiG World Downloads subfolder in your BGT folder, the installer won't (or shouldn't) redownload them.

@ar0n: you need to extract properly whatever Infinity Animations archives it says it can't find. See this post for example - same issue.

To be honest, I've tried BWP before; it was to no success though. Please correct me if I'm wrong, so here's what I have to do:
1. Satisfy the conditions stated in the document (that is have a fresh install and patch them accordingly, then have a saved game for the three games)
2. Since I already have TDD,CtB,BGT-Weidu, and BG2Fixpack, all I have to do is to place them in the Big World Downloads subfoldder?
3. There another two mods that I would want to download and install, so all I have to do is uncheck everything and check "ToBEx Beta" and "Vecna v15" from the advanced selection or something like that IIRC.
4. Then proceed with the download, everything else after then should be intuitive.

In theory, yes. I haven't used it for a while though, so post in that BWS thread if you have other questions about it.

2. SPECIAL CASE WINDOWS VISTA
1 Open the Start menu and write into the seach field "cmd.exe"
2. Right-click on "cmd.exe" and select in the context menu "Administrator"
3. A command line window opens.
4. Write into the line C:\Windows\system32> behind the arrow the directory where you had installed
the megamod: cd "\Program Files\Black Isle\BGII - SoA" and press Enter.
5. Then write into the line C:\Program Files\Black Isle\BGII - SoA> behind the arrow "BiG
World Install v6.bat" (the version number could have also changed) and press Enter.
Now the installation starts normally as also under other Windows operating systems.
Please look at the introduction video: http://kerzenburg.ba...GT-Vista-en.htm

My laptop's running with Windows7 on it, since there is a thin line between Vista and 7 in some cases, should I also do this? I thought doing this or not doing this may ruin the process.

I don't know if it includes all the IA content it needs, but it should tell you if it needs anything else if you try to install it. The mod author has been gone a while.

I have no clue what your second post is about. Obviously something BWP or BWS related. Like I said, you'll probably have better luck posting stuff about that in the BWS thread or similar.

It doesn't add Infinity Animations, I just found out. So also downloaded its core and subcomponents. It seems that it's working quite alright, hope I won't run into any trouble (that is caused by wrong installation or incompatibility) once I get to the big mods (TDD and Vecna, esp on the fact that they both have L50 cap tweak).

Also, to answer my question previously, it appears that I don't have to the windows vista special case for windows 7.

I have another question on for instance if I would decide to add CtB manually as it failed to be downloaded or recognized for extraction and installation even if I placed my manually downloaded CtBv1.13 in the Big World Downloads folder, how can I do it? But I might as well ask that on your referred thread. Thanks for the link
