Hi, I am taking my first shot at the ascension mod and thought Longer Road would be a good idea too.

I installed both but during the first cutscene with the elf lady, the conversation is invisible.

I can choose dialogue options with my keyboard, but no text displays for either of our responses.

Anyone heard of this bug before?

I downloaded my copy of baldurs gate through gamestop, so it should be 100% updated before mod installation.

I have not heard of such a bug, but if you could post the contents of your WeiDU.log (preferably in SPOILER tags) and/or some screenshots, that might help.

What Opeartion System are you under on ? And where did you install your game to ? As the OS can protect the game files from being overwritten in the case it's in the desktop or Program Files -sub folders.

Yep, Jarno Mikkola. my Mega Mod FAQ. Use of the BWS, and how to use it(scroll down that post a bit).
OK, desert dweller, welcome to the sanity, you are free to search for the limit, it's out there, we drew it in the sand. Ouh, actually it was still snow then.. but anyways.

Yes,  this is a very likely outcome. I just had a player report the same type of dialog.tlk problem w/ BP Series, except they had a fatal installer error. I had them right-click the Setup-xxxx file and Run as Administrator, and it worked for them. Might work here, too?

Some of the OS'es(Win 7 x64 bit SP1 professional edition*) mirror the original install files from the intentionally hidden ProgramDATA -folder and so they won't get edited at any rate even if you run the .exe with or without permissions... making it necessary to install the game to another folder to allow them to be edited. Nice ?!? <_<

*I thing it was this, not sure.
