I thought the spell slots thing might be down to Faiths & Powers, after hearing about a similar issue elsewhere. But if it was, this recent successful bug-free install shouldn't be possible. So, it's a head-scratcher.

But if the bug-free install is the weird one and there is a compatibility issue with the FnP sphere system, then you should be able to solve it easily: add

COPY_EXISTING ~sandrah.cre~ ~override~ // or whatever the NPC .cre name is
   REMOVE_MEMORIZED_SPELLS
BUT_ONLY
...to the FnP compatibility code. That will make sure the NPC doesn't have anything "memorized" that isn't actually in her spellbook.

Leveling up might fix it to. Or maybe it's completely unrelated. Dunno. But worth a try. (An upcoming update to FnP will add a scroll to any NPCs so affected that lets them instantly memorize spells without resting - once. So it should be fine even if you set up a divine-class NPC to join and immediately begin a combat.)
REMOVE_MEMORIZED_SPELLS

This is not a good idea. It will remove custom spells from all mod NPCs that come with those without any precaution that they will ever regain them. Or am I mistaken?

I'm pretty excited to try the Sandrah mod but I have some questions and potential issues with it in my current BWS install. Does Sandrah really need The Darkest Day mod to function? I didn't want TDD in my install but I had no choice so I had to include it. Secondly, is Sandrah playable with the Romance Cheats component or does it break completely? BWS told me that it makes Sandrah and other NPC mods stutter but I chose to ignore that warning and proceed with the install. However, later during the install Romance Cheats couldn't get installed anyway because the necessary file couldn't be found. So now that I don't have Romance Cheats I don't know where I stand with romance compatibilities, because I also added Imoen and DeArnise romances and was planning on trying those out as well in a single playthrough, but not sure if it's possible now.

1. TDDz is required for Sandrah. That however does not mean that you must follow each of that mod's optional quests. Those are free decisions you may do later on in the game. Having TDD installed does not have any negative effect per se.

2. Romance cheats is not functionally required for Sandrah. It has no effect on her romance if you pursue it or not. Sandrah allows multiple romances even without the cheat. Fact is that the romance cheat only works for unmodded NPCs and ruins the game for many others with its stuttering effects. You can install the romance cheat and not have any issues if you never use any of the vanilla NPCs who are romanceable or you never have a romance with any mod NPC when you have a romanceable vanilla NPC. (Again, this excludes Sandrah herself, since she never impacts other romances.)

So in general - whenever a mod NPC has a romance for which your PC qualifies AND you pursue that romance AND that mod terminates other romances when it gets to full state AND you have a vanilla-romance NPC in the party as well,, then stuttering will occur and the game gets unplayable.Other way round,, you can avoid the issue if you avaoid such a situation in game.

Ah I see, that clears things up, thank you very much for the prompt and detailed response, maybe even Imoen and Nalia romances can go along with Sandrah without the Romance Cheats component. At least there is no danger of stuttering since the component didn't install anyway. In any case I'm looking forward to seeing what the Sandrah Saga has to offer!

Only need to do REMOVE_MEMORIZED_SPELLS... not REMOVE_KNOWN_SPELLS. Anything you add to the spellbook can and should stay there.

Worst thing that would happen is that the NPC has to sleep once after joining the party in order to cast. (And actually we are going to take care of that as well, giving NPCs affected by FnP a scroll that lets them memorize spells without sleeping - once.

Just finished installing Sandrah saga. Sandrah can use her boots but the rest, armor, hammer, rings and amulet are unusable. (they come equipped but if removed or removed when she levels up cant give them back to her.

This is caused by some other mod changing the game. Either:

  • - You may have another mod installed which changes item usability flags. I suggest that you post Weidu.log from your BG2EE directory, so we can get an idea which mod causes such an issue.
  • - Another source may be a mod that changes NPC stats. Can you tell what are Sandtah's stats when she joins (Strength, Intelligence, Wisdom, Dexterity, Constitution, Charisma).?

Last question, did you do manual install or use BWS?

- sorry I dont use forums much and I have no idea how to attach the file here.

- Sandrah's stats are 17, 12, 15, 16, 16, 17 (the last three are increased by worn items ... you probably knew that though :P)

- I used BWS However I did have another error installing SandrahNPC that I found the solution to on forums already. Paused BWS installed SandrahNPC mod separately installed without any issues.

I'll note I did NOT instal SoB. But I did install FnP (I mention these because they were suspected in other previous problems,

** Also I decided I'd try removing FnP and see what happened. Well, what happened is mid way through it failed to uninstall and now it wont do anything (so pretty sure I've ruined my current install rather this Sandrah problem is an easy fix or not :*()

This eliminates one possible source.

This should have no impact. You can manually *insert* a mod into a BWS install and it will be handled just like any other.

Hm, hard to say what the state of your install is now.

PS - I think you cannot post any files as long as you are on the forum as *guest*.

none of sandrahs personal items were usable except her boots.

neither ring, amulet, armor, or hammer.

Edit: or the mystery scrolls she has (??????) but my pc mage could use them. (though don't know what they do)

Edit 2: she could also use the book for identifying things.

Interesting. Mystery scrolls? That is something new. Looks like some mod has again changed and all compatibility achieved before is again lost. Somebody always thinks they need to *improve* other people's work. What a mess...

I would be very interested to see a savegame of this.

You have to put the whole savegame folder, e.g. 000000041-Ginnevral or 000000001-Quick-Save into a zip or rar or 7z file and post that.

here it is.

Thank you.

That ??? scroll is D5FNPSCL.itm >>> the name sems to indicate that it may be the scroll mentioned here http://www.shsforums...-40#entry597225 and is added by Faith and Powers.I cannot verify what it does and how it is supposed to work since I have not yet installed that version of F&P that added it (the mod is updated nearly daily).

No idea however what causes the items not being usable. It does not just apply to her own items but also to nearly everything else. The problem here is, that it may be one of those global changes made to the game where Sandrah is just the first mod-NPC you let join and thus notice the issue, It would be interesting to see how other priests or fighters or fighter/priests appear. There are a number of global configuration files that determine which classes can use items/spells/armour etc, If those are changed in your game (and there are mods which do that) then it is something not visible in a savegame. But it should affect every other NPC of similar class. E.g. it seems that Sandrah cannot wear any armour at all like she were a druid or such?

Anyway to narrow it down and if you are still interested, could you please look for these files in your BG2EE/override:

Sanamul.itm

Sanarmm.itm

and post them?

i've restored my BG 2 EE so i can give things another go. maybe 17th times the charm.

However I did save the previous instalation for BG2 EE folder only (didn't think to do it for BG ee until too late). so if there are any additional files that would assist diagnosis let me know.

Hi Roxanne,
first of all I want to thank you for your great work with this mod!

I'm overwhelmed by all this new, and interesting content.

I want to report 2 smaller Bugs:

The first is, when Sandrah is in my group the Inventory is lagging after I click on an Item. There is a lag of a few millisec.
Not every item is affected, gems and unidentified items work like they should.
Every Item that can be equipped (not if unidentified) lags.
The other items work just normal.
My Inventory bug is not game braking, but sometimes the music stops playing for a millisec, too and that's a bit annoying while cleaning up.

The whole inventory works normal when Sandrah is not in the Group.

The second bug is:

Haiass is missing and I can't call him back.
As I blow the whistle it just says “Haiass is already nearby. There is no need to whistle for him.”

Or “Preeeeeet” one time and after that only “Haiass is already nearby. There is no need to whistle for him.” again.

No matter where I am, I tried a lot of different areas.

I like the idea with the pet companion and it feels like I'm missing something when I play without the wolf.

Is there a way to get him back?

I'm playing on windows 10 with enough power for the game.
My installation is the EET, installed via BWS, with all the other Megamods but no additional Item or Spell mods.

Tell me when you need additional information, I will try my best to give it to you.

Thanks again for your outstanding mod work!
